Thanks for visiting! Pick a wild animal species and become its benefactor. I help turtles. Perhaps you might want to save Tassie Devils, or endangered Florida Panthers, or something small and not well known that only lives near you. We humans now impact every living thing... we have a moral obligation to be good stewards.

Jim, I'm pushing to the next page. We're going to Jeb's place for a get together. Wench Judy/san diego and Lady Jane/fla are dueling, so it should be lighthearted enough to put back a smile on your face.

Jim - I'm glad to here that you visited your old haunts with your son. It is tough being around those you love during their suffering. She is now at peace with no more pain. Your love and that of the family accompanies her. My prayer is now for you as you step forward from grief.

Remember, do as she said - no sadness - celebrate her life. Consider as you celebrate her life, you are also celebrating your own - that was her greatest gift to you.

Jim, it is not only your mother who can rest in peace now, but you as well. What a wonderful son you were to go spend her last couple months with her. I'm sure it was a great comfort for her to have you nearby. Your sorrow may have been even greater then seeing her suffer than it is now that she's passed on. Still, I know how much you will miss her. Rob & I both send our sincere sympathy to you & your son. You might find some solace in this poem my mother left for me:
A Mother's Farewell to Her Children
When I must leave you for a little while,
Please do not grieve & shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you through the years,
But start out bravely with a gallant smile;
And for my sake and in my name
Live on & do all things the same,
Feed not your loneliness on empty days,
But fill each waking hour in useful ways,
Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near;
And never, never be afraid to die,
For I am waiting for you in the sky!

Cyber hugs to you and your family, Jim. What a woman your mother must have been. They were lovely sentiments you wrote.
Glad you're back with us.

Jim and Son,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother/grandmother. Please accept my deepest sympathy and prayers, both for her and for each of you. Losing a parent/grandparent is very difficult, and made more so if they suffer as the end approaches. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please know you have international support here at this site. Hang in there and cherish the memories!

G'day Jim, Although I have been a Sudoku player for many months I didn't join up until fairly recently and am still getting to know the regulars, so hello, and nice to meet you! Please accept my most sincere condolences on the death of your dear mother. I do sympathise as I lost my husband from pancreatic cancer also and I know just how much you Mum would have suffered and how harrowing it would have been for you to see. I felt very, very bad on the first anniversary of my husband's death and mentioned it on Sudoku. This was absolutely the best thing I could have done as the moral support I received was incredible and helped enormously. Maybe we can now all help you too. There are some beautiful people in the world and I think they all play Sudoku. Kind regards.

Jim, I'm sorry to hear of your mother's death. Loosing a parent is never easy. I've found comfort in knowing that my mom lives on in me and my brothers and, in turn, our children and grandchildren.

Jim, what a brave and wise woman your mother was.
It is obvious that she loved her family, and you, in return, loved her. At the end of the day, it's what we all strive for, isn't it? She will always be safely tucked away in your heart.
My condolences to you and yours...

Jim, Sorry for the loss of your Mother. Loosing a parent is never easy. I am sure it was comforting for her having you with her at the end. It was a comfort for me to be with my Mother, it helped me to accept her passing. Do celebrate her life, always remember the good times.
Here's to your Mom, Jack Daniels on the rocks.

Thanks, Jim for the invite to see the bald cypresses. I checked out the rest of your gallery too. You're doing great work helping look after injured wild life! I hope you like beer because I've left you a bottle of my husband's home brew a Coopers Dark Ale. Most people who try it like it & it's not stronger than shop bought stuff!

Jim, the 10th of November was also MY dad's birthday. He would have been 86 this year had he not passed away in 2004. I remembered him quietly with a tear yesterday whilst I was gardening, which was one of his great passions.

Jim. Great pictures. Love that toad!
I noticed one of you at a Hammerheads game. Congrats on winning the slogan contest. The Baltimore Orioles AA team plays at Prince Georges Stadium here in my town of Bowie. They are the Bowie Baysox. I am VERY familiar with minor league ball as we are season ticket holders. The stadium is about 2 miles from my house. I am the President of the Bowie Baysox Booster Club. Happy to see you supporting minor league ball!

an aussie beer for the party guy

wish on an aeroplane we could all fly

to see in person the jupiter man
who knows how to use the WD40 can!
he loves turtles, crocs and other creatures
tells us all 'bout floridas features.
50 is a mighty great number,
but getting older needs more slumber
to make it through a normal day
nevermind whats needed to go out and play.
so Jim I hope the day you enjoy
some fun and laughter with your young boy.
sending good wishes from here in Wang
to a cyber friend, part of the sudoku gang.
