I couldn't correctly remember who it was that posted that great recipe for banana crumble with apple and pineapple. Kathy says it was you, so I thank-you because it has been well-received twice by guests.

Hi Angie - It sounds like you are getting one big storm up there! We have a cousin who lives in Wausau. Are you any where near there? You have had some winter. We have had more snow this year than the whole winter last year, but I think you have us beat as far as inches go! We had rain and ice all day today and it is suppose to turn to snow with thunderstorms this evening! Hang in there. Spring will be here soon! We have been south of here (about 80 miles) for the past few days visiting relatives and we could hear the birds every morning! We had a robin here about 2 weeks ago and it hung around for about a week! But we haven't seen it for several weeks now. Stay warm!

I checked out your pictures and boy do you have the snow! Most schools are closed around me today. (A lot of them are closed due to mid-winter break.) The back roads are all ice. I am really looking forward to spring this year! Our rivers are all up. Have a great day Angie!

Hi Angie. Thanks for stopping in to visit. Sorry I missed you and sorry to hear the green machine is under the weather. Looks like you could be using it after the 'light dusting' of snow that you've had. We got freezing rain yesterday and last night instead of snow, so you can go canoeing on most of the streets right now, as snowbanks are blocking the sewar drains. Ain't winter great?

Does your five year old finish his work quickly accurate albeit sloppy. Does he stay on task even though he appears to be attentive everything else? Are his answers to questions though provoking, advanced for his age? Then get him tested for giftedness. In California, the school has so many days to respond if a parent request the testing. No cost to you. If he gets the gifted label, teachers are obligated to give him at least 200 minutes a week of differentiated education. That's for California. Find out what's in Wisconsin. Generally our trouble making boys have turned out to be gifted. My son drove his kindergarten teacher crazy! But he tested out highly gifted.

Could not snoope in without saying hello. I enjoyed going through your photo album and could not believe that Wisconsin could get that much snow. You have three lovely children and would like to hear more about your camping, because we go camping every summer for 4 months, from May 'till September. We have a 30 foot trailer, a gazebo to keep the bugs away and a pontoon to go fishing. Hope to hear from you again, Orianne

Hi Angie! I'm glad your son is doing better. Kudos to you for sticking with it and tracking down the problem. I know that's what a parent is supposed to do, but so many don't. I'm sure he doesn't realize it now, but he will later...he is VERY fortunate to have you as a Mom!

Angie - I remember how excited you were about the snow. Are you getting tired of it yet? Looking forward to spring, flowers & blossoms on the trees. I know I wouldn't be looking forward to the heat & humidity of summer and the mosquitos. [At least that is not a problem here - heat maybe.] Soon as spring has sprung it is time to look forward to autumn.

Hi Angie - Wow! You do still have a lot of snow! We are starting to see brown grass again. I can still see snow on my husband's barn roof. I love snow in December, but I have seen enough for this year! We have been seeing a lot of deer again. Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. You children bring out the smiles. They look like they are having fun!

Ang, your children look like they're enjoying themselves. Nothing better at Easter then seeing the daffodils, looking in the bushes for the hidden Easter goodies and barbecuing the turkey on a slow turning rotisserie (if you managed to dig out your barbecue)!

If you have a small tape recorder, it would be good to record her memoirs. If she hasn't written them down, get them in some form - her stories will be important to not only you, but your children and grand children. I value the autobiographies of my great aunt (grandpa's sister) and a great uncle (grandma's brother)and a uncle (who also wrote essay on the adventures of his dog). Her stories and life may be important to off-spring of her brothers/sisters as well as her own.
In my research on my ancestery, I found some wonderful letters and autobiographies of brothers & sisters of my direct lineage that give insight into their lives - some over 300 years old. Since I do not have any children, they are being handed down to my cousin's children and grand children.
My best to her - may God bless her with a healing hand and a quick mind and blessings upon her family.

Hi Angie. I'm glad your grandmother is very hungry! Hope they've filled her up by now - she's going to need a lot of strength & support to get through he next few months - the surgery was the easy part! I had no weight bearing for 8 to 9 weeks - that means hopping with crutches! Then there's physiotherapy to help you learn to walk properly again! I was beginning to feel almost normal about 8 to 9 months after I broke my left ankle & was playing tennis again. At 10 months I had another freak fall & broke the right ankle! So the process started again! This time I had a wheel chair so I could actually do things at home - you can't carry a washing basket when you need both hands to hold the crutches! I couldn't get the clothes line but I could put them on clothes horses! It also meant I could cook & do other things around the house! Also, if I left my book somewhere I didn't have to hop back for it. Bad luck if I forgot to take a bag to put it in! I'm not trying to frighten you just letting you know it's a long process & can be depressing if you are an active person, which it sounds like your wonderful grandmother is!

Hi Angie! Good for your Mom! And good for your Grandmother!I went through the same thing with my mother when she was in re-hab. She was 87 and the PT's seemed to think she was capable of very extended sessions. She once just wheeled herself out of the PT room when she felt she'd had enough. They called me because she "wasn't co-operating". I told them pretty much what your Mom did. Once they knew she was going to be a "pro-active" patient, they cut back to a schedule she was comfortable with and she made good progress. She said to me, "What's the point of killing myself to heal myself?". Of course, she was right!

Hi Angie! I just read Eve's comment - I agree with her 100 X over. I tried to get my Mom to do the same and she never did. I thought it was stubbornness, then we realized it was the beginning of her illness. As it is we have lost a lot of family history with both my parents.
Love to you.....

Great to see you back posting, Angie. I hope everything is going better for you now.
Your kids look really cute, but I bet that they can't wait to put away their winter stuff for a few months. We're experiencing a cold snap here, too. It must have gotten down to 11 degrees C last night. Brrrrr! (OK, I know that it is nowhere near what you have been experiencing but it feeeeeels cold.)
Take care, Rose

Hello Angie, I'm sorry that it's been so long. this is Anew from Utah, and I have been reading the posts I missed when I stopped coming by.
It's been a year, and I'm sorry about that. I hope to be a better friend from here on out. and hope all is well with you.
Because there are so many people onsite, I likely won't go back any time soon to everyones old pages or the archives, so I'll keep intouch from here on out, if you'd like :)
And maybe one day I'll get the umph to really, truly catch up!
take care,
an old friend
