Welcome to my page!  Sit back, enjoy a glass of wine and some chocolates!  Mi casa es tu casa.  You can play around with my fishies.  To feed them by clicking here and there, which leaves little fish pellets.  Also they like to play follow the leader.  Just move your cursor around, they will follow!

Hola Sharon! Gracias! You are very kind and sweet. I never met my Maternal Grandfather (a Castillian), he died when I was six months old, so my Paternal Grandfather was my idol, confidant and someone I could 'argue' over my visions of the future. I miss him dearly. The last time I saw him was the first time I ever saw him cry...we left Cuba and I never saw him again.

Clifton Scones

Is this from Clifton's Cafeteria?

I don't know if it even still in Los Angeles. When I was a little girl, it was a special treat to go to Cliftons in downtown LA. This was in the day of the Red Car - long ago.

Sharon, thanks for stoping by and leaving some treats. I run a pretty wide open bar and grill out of my page. Everybody is welcome to help themselves to whatever there is. I just recently discovered a nearby winery making elderberry wine, so I'll leave a bottle of that and a jar of sand plum preserves

That is interesting. Is Cliftons still a Cafeteria and operating as such?

We really appreciate the life boat. It's tied up at the front porch and we have it well stocked with pretzels and beer all ready to go. It's a little after 10:00 the third morning, rained thru most of the night and there is still water dripping off the eaves. Never seen anything like it.

Hi, Shosho:
I remember ordering from the takeout window at Mago's. We only ate at the indoor restaurant once--will have to look for it again the next time we're in the Westside!

Hubby & I graduated from UCLA in 1978, so we're no babes in the woods! Did you meet your sweetheart while you were in school?

Shosho, Thank you for the kind words re my temperament. You need not follow anyone, however....lead on girlfriend...you do pretty well in the 'quieting of malcontents'....its a teacher's characteristic that just comes out when the class becomes unruly.....LOL
Love your picture...a real handsome guy in your arms too. I could look deeply into those eyes for awhile too.

Hi Sosho and thaks for the gifts. I'll hvae to pass on the wine becasue of my vows, but my children will enjoy it! I've just got back from a conference of Australian sangha of different Buddhist traditions but none of them chased away evil spirits at unearthly hours. I come from a long tradition of presbyterian ministers who are all turning in their graves. If Scotland has an earthquake, that will be why. Here's an Aussie pavolva with passionfruit topping for dessert.

Hi Shosho. Thank you for the gifts - white wine and chocolate is a favourite combination of mine. I am leaving you a bottle of maple syrup for your next pancake breakfast - does that give a hint as to where Mississauga is? It's a suburb of Toronto, Canada (I thought that, if the Aussies could use place-names I've never heard of, I would do the same). I like the same part of the otter video as you - can't help but go 'awwwwwww' every time I see it. Apparently one of the otters was rescued from the oil spill left by the Exxon Valdez.

Sharon, you asked for a resizing programme that works on a Mac. I have an iMac and I use the following programme

http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/

It seems to work pretty well. Good luck - and let me know if you have any troubles.

Thanks for the warning Shosho, I'm just heading out to cook on the grill so I'll save those yummy chocolates for when I'm safely away from the flames. The wine, I'll take that with me just in case I need to douse the flames.

Hi Shosho, it's fortune/karma/god but I've been thinking about you so much since I last 'spoke' to you, only putting it off till I had something concrete to tell you! You've jumped the gun so here it is. My brother-in-law got out of going to Iraq! Good news yes & no. He has an upper abdominal mass which the medicos have been trying to diagnose for the last month! Anyway it's probably (hopefully) a lymphoma. He's had needle biopsies collapsed lung biopsy (through the back) & abdominal surgery (they didn't want to do this (which is why they went through his lung) because it would delay treatment - have to wait till the abdo had healed before the could start chemo or radiotherapy! Nothing conclusive found! Except it is lymphoma but there was some necrosis in the last biopsy which means it might be turning into a nasty one. They have to wait till his abdomen is healed before they start treatment so yesterday he had a PET scan & a bone marrow biopsy, which will hopefully tell them if it's gone nasty or not, so when they can zap him with chemo &/or radiotherapy they'll know what they're dealing with. The worst senario would have been if it were a benign mass (non cancerous) because it's up near the heart & is already compressing the vena cava (major blood vessel) & is inoperable!

Hi, Shosho! Thank you for visiting my page the other day! I love California wines. I've been to the Napa and Sonoma Valleys many times for tours and wine tastings. My favorite winery is Montelena. Love their cabernet!

Cheers!
