If my company made retirees sing, I would probably never have retired! They kept things to a lunch followed by a presentation where I had to make a speech (which I hate doing). It was a short speech

Hello Sharon - I believe that congratulations are in order, if I'm right.
Congratulations on your retirement. Enjoy some relaxing times and your jogging, etc, etc, and time spent with your family and grandchildren.

shosho - I love how you can laugh in the face of such a serious bout with pneumonia. I'm so glad you don't have to rush back to set up a classroom for the start of the school year! Get well.

Shosho - You are an amazing lady! The EXACT length of the legs of an isosceles triangle would be the hypotenuse divided by the square root of 2 (when I took trig we had no calculators and had to memorize simple square roots - we used 1.414 for 2). Going the 'other way', if you multiply a leg length by the square root of two, you get the length of the hypotenuse.
You are right - physics is impossible without math! Physics is just applied math.
Good luck, and message me if you have questions!!

Keep after it, shosho! Two years ago I filled in for six weeks when a physics teacher was out on maternity leave. I felt then that I might have enjoyed teaching physics even more than I enjoyed teaching math, because in physics you are actually putting the math to real use. Fun stuff, even though many on the sudoku site might strenuously disagree with us.

shosho - I am pretty sure that I never answered our last question (from about 2+ weeks ago) - it was about finding the opposite side if you know the hypotenuse and the sine sine (would also apply to cosine or tangent)? I am very sorry. If you still don't have the answer, let me know - I will send one quickly.
Hope your 'work' is going well.

Shosho, If you go to Sacky's page, you will see this daffodil growing in the garden; and this gives you a better picture of its true colour. Mine were a little pale this year, as they had flowered later than usual.

Hi Shosho, thanks for your kind comments on my duckling pics. I reckon they would be teenagers in duck years, hence the spotty faces and I reckon they'll be grown up very soon. The photography is easy really as they are literally 'sitting ducks'. I'm just lucky that they have chosen my place to breed and not somewhere else!
