Hello Rayray,
Thank you for your reply. I'm sure your head is not swollen and the praise is deserved beyond a shadow of doubt. Have you ever thought of publishing? Destance is the name of my home and also my middle name. A quirk of nature perhaps? My father had a great sense of humour and swears it was because I couldn't say 'Lets Dance' when I was small. It took me years before I realised that the name was mine before I could possibly have uttered those words.

Ellié

Forgive the intrusion, I read that you had not been well. May I extend my regards, I do hope your back problems can be resolved. I know from experience what back pain can be like, it is a hateful thing. Do take care.

You're tagged!
Rules: Tagged!!!
Here are the rules:
(1) Each player starts with 5 random facts/habits about themselves.
(2). You have 24 hours in which to do this
(3) At the end of your Post, you need to choose 2 people to get tagged and list their names.
(4) You must then let these people know they have been tagged, either posting on their page or by private message.
Try and not “Tag” anyone that has already been tagged.
also... big one here... of the two people you pick, try to tag someone you don't know that well.

Rayray.... what is this about stalking? I have had some very bad experiences in this area... and find that there is a strong tendancy to minimalize the danger until the situation becomes very bad. Be very careful.

It sounds terrible.... and that is exactly what it is. Do you have any idea why they are doing this to you? Are you in a closed community where they do not like puzzle nuts or poets? Why were you selected for their attentions? Meanwhile I would check for cameras and get one of my own and perhaps get a roommate for a while so that there is a witness to what is going on.
Good luck.

RAY RAY, I was reading about your watering can't situation and know what you mean. Carrying water is hard work. any way you can get wheels under your can of water? Then use a dipper to water each container? I would come up with something like that. Here, my plants on back porch have thier own garden hose, but on front I carry water. Carry one gallon at a time, which I can just manage, then dip out water for each container. Works for me at least.
Hope your back gets better soon, boy it can get in the way of all the fun can't it?

Ray, I stopped by to look at your 'Picture Gallery' so I could suggest something for your Facebook page.
I became totally enthralled with your poetry! Some I remember reading on 'easy', but many were new to me tonight. I have been sitting here for hours (literally!) going through them. I just want you to know how much I appreciate your posting them and keeping them here . They are wonderful!

Thanks Rayray, good to know.
My version of Word is about 15 years old. I hope by now they have made it possible to cut and paste more than one thing at a time. That would probably also fix your problem, if there were a "clipboard-1", "clipboard-2", et cetera, where the text might be hidden or not, case by case.

Rayray,
Did you get an answer to your question about placing an overbar on a letter or character?
Once you are in a Word document, try:
"Alternatively one can use microsoft equation editor (found at Insert>Object>Microsoft Equation Editor 3.0) which can provide a variety of functions, including overlines to any character."
If your version of Word doesn't have Microsoft Equation Editor, you might be able to use Corel. That's what worked for me.

Rayray: very nice piece about the plow horse. I do have the effrontery to suggest a bit of tune-up on the meter, and had the thought occur to me that rhythm adds an element of music to rhyming verse, which is why it's so important. (It's also why the poem about the shepherd looking in the snow for the lamb was so very good.)
But I also discovered that the words "rhyme" and "rhythm" apparently have no connection:
Origin:
1250–1300; ME rime < OF, deriv. of rimer to rhyme < Gallo-Romance *rimāre to put in a row ≪ OHG rīm series, row; prob. not connected with L rhythmus rhythm, although current sp. (from c1600) appar. by assoc. with this word.

It is the damnedest thing. After 50 years of reading all kinds of verse and poetry, I knew that I was always a bit jarred by pseudo-rhymes and inexact meter, but I had never doped out why. Now I know. Good poetry incorporates a sense of music, and music has structure and discipline: flow and rhythm. Almost like (and ironically, opposite to,) Carl Orff's theories on music, in a way.

Hello Ray - I purchased a book while up north and it's to do with a station up there and a certain aboriginal worker and the way they were treated by white man. I have yet to read it as I haven't had much time since arriving home and I was feeling a bit unwell with a nasty cold.
Cheers

Thanks for your acknowledgement of my Youtube selection. I don't know if you're familiar with Izzy, but he was incredible. Here's another of his songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ltAGuuru7Q It's probably the one he's most famous for. I'm not sure, but I believe the last minute of the video is of his memorial where his ashes were dumped in the ocean. He was truly loved.

It is wounderful to open up on your poem this morning. When I was in Australia, I missed the changes of the seasons. I was very moved by your poems. Many years ago I bought 4 posters of Tom Thompson... because for me, there were representing my 4 seasons as I can recall them. I am far from good in English language but appreciate your poem very much, using dictionary and reading them more than ounce. Thank you very much for sharing

Rayray, I don't know if it is worth mentioning but I watched 'Country File' on the BBC this evening. During the programme, a man called Collin Pearce, a sheep farmer was introduced. They were talking about his sheep and then he recited a poem he had written about his sheep. It was lovely. I immediately thought of you. It is on BBC iPlayer now if you wanted to look. Towards the end.

Rayray, with regards to your poem posted on Oct 31st. It reminds me of a Keat's poem "The Eve of St. Agnes" for some reason. Perhaps the juxtaposition of the two characters in both yours and the poem mentioned? I might post a poem to you privately. I would value your opinion on it. Not for mass consumption as it is quite a meager thing at present. Would that be okay?

Has anyone figured in how the changing magnetic poles change the climate. My late husband (a cal-tech man) would know where to look for the answers, but I don't.
