Debby, you are a very ambitious person! I have given a few parties in my life, especially when I was a Navy wife, but never ever did I cook for 100 people!! It's great that your older children are helping you. When exactly is the party? Will it be inside or outside? Hope the weather cooperates & isn't too hot.
Ebony is still taking her 10 days of antibiotics to cure her runny nose. She seems to feel fine, but I wish I could get her to blow the stuff out of her nose. It sounds awful. It's just like when a baby has a cold. We're like brand new parents all over again! She'll start obedience school on June 24.

Hi, Debby! We have a Knabe, too! I don't know it's age. We bought it about 20 years ago from our daughter's cello teacher. HER mother had been a piano teacher in New York, and the Knabe baby grand had belonged to her. (We couldn't afford the larger Steinway - nor did we have room for it.) Unfortunately, I don't play, though I have always wanted to. Both our daughters took piano lessons (third instrument) for a number of years. They are both professional musicians now, and the piano sits idle until they are home for a visit.

(By the way, I came here to see a picture of your daughter. Where is she? Behind the piano?)

Debby, your menu for tomorrow sounds scrumptious! What a huge assortment of yummy foods for everyone - your guests will love it, I'm sure. Sorry it's hot & humid. Is there any chance of rain? I hope not. My cousin rented a canopy for their party, & it took a big crew of helpers (including Rob!) to put it up & take it down. I know you will all be VERY tired tomorrow night, but your daughter will surely always remember all your efforts to make a special day for her. Good luck with everything.

Hi Debby, Hope the party went well. Having that many people would be hard to feed. I have had BIG New Years Eve partys, close but not that many people. Everyone brought a side dish, made it easier on me.
How are your hummers doing. I am now on my second 10 lb. bag of sugar. We seem to have more each year. They must tell their friends where the free food is.

Hi, Debby! I can't wait to hear your critique of the book! I can't remember the last time I read a book that I didn't 'get'. There were so many unanswered questions and loose ends. (I hope I haven't discouraged you from reading it because I REALLY want to discuss this with someone!!! I love the author's style, and I was hooked (read the book in one day, staying up until 1:30 am), but I just didn't understand the ending. Let me know as soon as you've read it. Thanks a million!

Debyy, I saw your comment on Jan's page about eating apples with peanut butter. That's one of my favorite combinations, & I have introduced them to all my grandchildren, too! How did the party go? Are you all rested up again? Any pictures to show us yet? Guess I should go look before I ask!

Hi again Debby (I'll spell it right this time! ). Thanks for asking about She's doing much better today. Guess the special food is working to dissolve the struvite crystals they found in her urine & which caused the bloody drops. She's also back on antibiotics for another 2 weeks. We sure never expected this many problems so early in her life. Hope they're not going to be ongoing! Glad to hear all about your party. Sounds like it was a big success despite the rain. We,like your parents, have been very happy to see lots of rain here in FL the past few days. We are busy day getting things ready for our trip tomorrow. Thanks for your nice compliments about our family. We are very proud of ALL of them! See you again after we get back on the 17th.

Hi, Debby! Thanks for reading the book. I, too, got hooked on it and, in fact, stayed up until 1:30 in the morning to finish it. But then I felt betrayed! So many unanswered questions. The biggest one, in my mind, was why did the Registrar allow Senhor Jose to pursue his mission? And what was the Registrar doing in the Central Registry at night? It was made clear early on that the Registrar had no work to do, and how could he possibly know what Senhor Jose was up to? Because everything was done low-tech, there would be no computer trails to follow. I wish I could have a face-to-face discussion with the author!!!! If perchance your local book club decides to tackle 'All the Names' and you get in on the discussion, let me know what everyone else thinks!!!! Thanks again!

Wow...that is a coincidence!! I do have a brother over this side of town and I do have an ex workmate who lives just a few streets away who I have seen quite a few times now. It's like living in a new city and starting all over again. A little nerve racking but exciting at the same time.

Thanks Debby for the support! It's nice to hear especially when one is frazzled! I'm just praying that everything goes well! My daughter graduated last year and she was easy peasy giving her speech and was always comfortable in front of a crowd. My son on the other hand is not only uncomfortable in front of crowds but recent events with the school has upset him and this does not make for a good combination for a val speech. Keep your fingers crossed. Thanks!

Hi Deb....I had gone to bed but couldn't sleep so signed back in and there was a message for me.
The homes sound gorgeous. I can just imagine them. I can understand the dilemma of weighing up the extra expense. Money that can be spent elsewhere.
I felt a little better today but not great. Baby steps I suppose for me but at least I think I'm heading in the right direction to being well.

I'm sure missing Rick isn't helping me. It's so hard when you are in a new relationship and one goes away and with no return date to look forward to. He'll only be back when the job is finished and it's raining there which is putting things behind already . I sound like and feel like a lovesick teenager, how pathetic

OOPS..I posted this on my page instead of yours...here we go..
Rick works in construction and if his company (well not his, the one he works for) gets a contract then they have to send their own people to wherever the construction is. Seems silly when I'm sure there are very capable people in Mackay who need the work but so do we I guess. He gets paid living away from home allowance and has his meals and accomodation paid for as well.

Father's Day isn't until 1st Sunday in September for us here in Aus. It doesn't mean much to me now as Dad passed away 4 years ago. I will think of him even though I think of him most days. Rick is not a Dad and his Dad passed on when Rick was only 5 years old.

Looked for a Dr who might be open today but couldn't find one so will definately be finding one tomorrow. Went to the shops and after only an hour was exhausted. Only got some food and had a look for something nice for me but couldn't get in the mood. Sick of feeling sick and feeling breathless. That's what makes me feel that perhaps I may have a chest infection now.
Your meals in Summer sound just like ours. Salads and a bar-b-que, just cant beat them.

Hi Debby! Thanks for the visit! No big graduation party here. My inlaws and aunt came up for the Mass and Graduation but then had to head back home, to North Carolina. My niece and nephew also graduated so we will have a family party for the 3 of them for my side of the family. Just my immediate family because if they can all make it, that will be about 45 people. Maybe for college we will have individual parties. I'll have to go to you for some advice then since you're the expert!! You've probably already said, but where is your daughter going to college? My son is going to Drew University in NJ and will study economics and play soccer. Have a great day!

Hi Deb....I was like you thinking am I ever going to become a Grandma? I wanted to be a young Grandma so I still have the energy to do things and enjoy the kids. Had to wait until Nicole was 29 but, gee, it's worth the wait.
Scott has a girlfriend and is only 20 and quite a young 20 I think. How eerie you have a son named Scott too
I am slowly feeling better. Took my second antibiotic this morning, hope they dkick in soon. Itching to get back to work (cant believe I'm saying that). Sitting around the house pining for Rick isn't helping how I feel, I dont think. At work the time should go quicker. Let's hope so anyway.

Hi Deb..Excellent news, it will certainly free you up with her being able to get herself around.
I'm feeling a lot better today still coughing in the mornings but will be going to work tomorrow. After my morning bout of coughing I should be fine..lol. I'm going to put a couple of drops of eucalyptus oil on a hanky to sniff on through the day. It certainly clears the passages..lol

Hi Deb....yes I am feeling better. Did a whole days work yesterday but had to come home early today. The steam from the dishwasher and the hot box (keeps the roasts hot) and the smoke from the oven (pork crackling)got my nose running and the coughing started all over again. It's school holidays here next week for two weeks and I need to be at work for that as it is a busy time. I think you know I work in a shop in a foodcourt.

Yes, I hear from Rick every night. He is missing me very much and I am missing him. It has been raining still up at Mackay so the work is nearly at a standstill. It keeps putting back when he can come home He has had enough and has threatened to catch the next flight home but I think it's all talk. Who knows I might be in for a nice surprise...Hope so

Have forgotten how to put pictures on the flicker site. Will have to play around with it again. Might try and make one into an avatar and see if that works.
Definately doesn't snow here where I live in Brisbane Queensland. It's more a tropical area. I hadn't seen snow until last year when Mark and I travelled down to Victoria (and visited Rose, Angie and Col). Not that it snows there but in the mountains it does. I actually stood in it. Wonderful!!

Yes, we have palm trees.....Temp doesn't stay the same. Very hot and humid in summer up to about 39 degrees and in winter (which is now) it gets down to about 4 degrees and up to 22 degrees. It's the heat that we have the problem with normally although this winter has been quite cool which is nice for a change.

Have had a great weekend. Nicole and Kiarah cam and stayed with me yesterday and overnight. Today I had lunch with some ex co-workers and then went and picked my Mum up and drove her back to my brother's place. Stayed there for a while for a chat and am now back home awaiting my nightly phone call from Rick. I'm tired!!...lol
