Hi Debby
1. Yes that is my daughter - she has just turned 7 but was 6 when this was taken 6mths ago. She is with our almost 13yo cat 'Gizmo'

2. Nooooooooo I am not in Canada. I am in Victoria, Australia and YES it was snowing, it's the middle of Winter here - but snow is not something that we get often - and hardly ever in the quantities that we got yesterday, so it was pretty exciting for us.

3. Angelina was a nickname given to me by Jaz of Melbourne, Australia and I can't remember why now.

Thanks for dropping by my page.

Hi Debby

Yep - we have SO many climates here in Australia, from freezing to boiling. Australia is a big country

You might find the following site interesting
http://www.about-australia.com/facts/

When you see a map of Australia, find 'Victoria'. I live about 100 km's inland from Melbourne at Ballarat. The town has it's roots in the goldrush era in the 1950's. If you seriously want to learn anything about Australia, just ask and I'll tell you about it.

That is my niece's youngest daughter. She is adorable and loves to have her picture taken (Lucky me!)

We will be picking up Nitro tomorrow morning. We have his new leash, collar and bed all ready to go. He is approximately a year old and likes cats which is great for our Booboo.

Hi Debby! Just got back from our trip last night & am now playing catch up on the homefront again. When I checked the messages on my page I found your note about maybe coming to Florida! I would love to get together if we can arrange it! Maybe we could even pull off a mini sudokuholics annonymous meeting again. Chalkboard from MA/FL is flying back to FL on Tues. so maybe she could drive down to Punta Gorda with me, & then we could ask Carol from PG to meet up with us, too! Please let me know your plans, & we'll go from there.

Debby, I know you must feel very frustrated that you can't find a way to help your Mom feel better. But you are wise to realize that a long trip would be hard on her. I heard from Carol that she is in NY now & won't be back to Punta Gorda until Sept. So whenever you do make your next trip to FL, we'll try to arrange a SA meeting then - I promise!

We are having a big thunderstorm here in Valrico right now (5:27 PM). This time of year we get rain almost every evening. That's okay except when our tennis matches get cancelled! Actually it's better than paying huge amounts of $'s for our water bill! They say Tampa is the lightning capital of the U.S. We had to sit on the runway for two hours when we flew back Thursday afternoon while we waited for the lightning to stop at the airport. They would not allow the airport personnel to go outside to direct the plane to the gate. Guess that's wise since several people were struck by lightning in the Tampa Bay area yesterday; one died!

Debby, I have almost become a CP'r on your page! Have now put our suitcases away, though, & hope to get back out on the tennis court tomorrow - if it doesn't rain! Left a comment about on the Easy page awhile ago so you can read about her there. I feel bad she is having so many problems, but we are trying hard to get them all resolved. How's everyone in Michigan? Does your daughter like her job?

Hi,

Was surprised to get a bunch of emails. Playing Sudoku can take up a lot of time, especially the tougher puzzles. I love checking out the photos though.

Debby, I had a cherry tree in my backyard growing up. It was a huge producer. My aunt and uncle use to come over and help pick. They would fill an entire paper grocery bag and take it home.

Would you believe yesterday was sunny and not a drop of rain all day. First time in weeks it didn't rain. Figures, I had to go to the eye doctor and my eyes were dilated. The one day I wanted it to be really cloudy, it wasn’t.

Have a nice day,
Christina

Debby - love your home - looks like you have open space.. love that. I'm in the mood for cherries this week - had some cherry slices earlier this week...mmmm.... Naperville, is near Aurora, and we are between Hoffman which is north/west of us and Joliet which is south/east. Naperville was once a small farming town which explored in the yuppie 80's. It still has a small town feel in my area - but alot of HUGE homes are going up - alot of teardowns... have a good day, Mary

Hi, Debby! I'm impressed! You play in a band, and you've only been playing for a couple of years! You must have real talent. I know you are going to have a ball at Galax. Have someone take pictures of you playing so that you can post them here! The next step is 'American Idol'!

Good morning, Debby!

Thanks for the messages! If and when we organize a 'worldwide sudoku convention', you will be put in charge of entertainment!!! And if the other members of your musical group aren't already sudokuists, you'll have to convert them so that they can participate!

We do live on the island year 'round. We retired here three years ago and just love it! I have always been a beachaholic, so it was a natural move. I swim in the ocean every day it's not raining from late April until early November. We do get winter here - but no ice or snow (thank goodness!), but it rarely gets below freezing. We have a fireplace which we use most evenings in the winter, and when we do, we don't have to use the central heating. Last winter was so mild we never lost our impatiens. Regarding hurricanes, the last time St. Simons took a direct hit from a hurricane originating in the Atlantic was 1895. We do get some of the aftermath from 'backdoor' hurricanes (those coming in from the Gulf), but about all we get is moderate winds and rain. So, to answer your question, no, we haven't had to evacuate during hurricane season.........yet!

Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon and evening!
Jane

Hi, Debby! I sure do remember Hugo. We were on vacation on the Outer Banks (NC) and there was a mandatory evacuation. Apparently, there was no damage there, but when we got back to Richmond, we got hit! Our next door neighbor was in his family room watching TV when a huge oak tree crashed through the roof and landed a foot from him. (He wasn't hurt, thank goodness). We didn't have any damage at our house from Hugo, but in 2003 we were hit hard by Isabel. We lost six gigantic oak trees, and our house was the only one in the neighborhood that didn't have a tree resting on the roof. We were without power for almost two weeks. It was hot, and it was almost impossible to find ice. That was when I decided we might as well move to the coast because if a hurricane's gonna get you it doesn't matter where you are!

Debby, I can't believe I've been so rude as to visit and look at your photos but not leave my calling card. How very remiss of me! Loved looking through the pics of your family. Mine are still at the age where it is very difficult to get them in the same shot let alone same room!
I've brought you a bottle of Aussie bubbly and a plate of nibblies to keep your stamina up as you page hop all over the world.

Hi Debby! Time I came back for another quick visit. I didn't find your birthday on Rosemary's list. Did I just overlook it? Please let me know your special day. Have your parents had much rain? We are being drenched here in Valrico. It's been raining pretty steadily for the past 20 hours or so!!! Our yard & some new plants we put in yesterday are loving it, but I am not! It's dark & gloomy & I missed my tennis match last evening

Debby, sorry about your injury. If anyone asks how it happened you can say you were in a motorcycle accident! If you are leaving Sat. I will wish you a happy birthday early - this way I can be first!! Same to other members of your family. It will be nice to be able to celebrate both in MI & in VA. Please have a safe trip & enjoy your time, however long it may be, down there. Hope you can find a way to get on the site now & then & let us know what you're up to! Have fun.

Hi Debby. I feel bad because I meant to post a birthday message to you on your actual birhday, but I blew it and I'm late. You're probably sitting there saying ''typical male.''
Anyway, a belated happy birthday to you and many, many more to come in the future. I hope you had a great day celebrating with your loved ones! Cheers!

I totally forgot to leave a message on your page, though so I'm glad I wished you happy birthday way back on Aug. 3! How was your trip to VA? Hope you're enjoying your stay there & maybe got to do something extra special to celebrate your BD!

Hi, Debby!

Good to hear from you. It hasn't been excessively hot here - until the past couple of weeks. Our electric bill went from $106 to $161 in one month - and we don't leave the AC on during the day!!! Until recently, the temp hardly ever got to 90. Being so close to the ocean helps, of course. There's usually a breeze. And I usually go swimming every day, and that cools me down for the day! Unfortunately, the recent hot weather brought the jellyfish (stinging kind), so I couldn't swim for a couple of weeks. I went yesterday, and there was no sign of the critters. Yay!

My brother, who lives in the South Haven MI area, has been without power for several days due to the inclement weather. Hopefully, the electricity should be restored by tomorrow. Hope your home wasn't affected, but I guess you're pretty far from where the worst damage occurred.

Have a fun last week in Virginia!

Hello Debby, Welcome home, I know how much there is to do when one gets back from a trip. Do hope you enjoyed yourself, went to VA right? We took a couple of weeks and went to WI and MI, I had not been to either state, now I have been to all 50. Where in Mi do you live? maybe I went there. We focused on Mackanaw City and Island, both are lovely. Traverse City area was another place we stayed.
Did you send all your hummers down here when you left? We had hardly any this summer while it was raining every day. Once it quit raining they all found their way back to my house. We have 6 feeders out and have to fill them all every day. I ran out of the mix I use, stores are out here so have had to just use clear sugar water. Hubby said they would not eat the clear boy is he wrong.

Hi Debby! See that you are back in MI now. I just came back from NC yesterday. Made a quick trip to go help my daughter Wendy with their three boys while her husband went to help his family in NY deal with the sudden death of his 47 year old sister. Wendy is a nurse & works 12 hour night shifts at the VA hospital. Chris usually takes care of the boys on the weekend days so she can sleep, but since he was gone she would have had to stay up both night & day!! I flew up last Thursday & stayed for a week. The boys are a handful but I survived! I'm glad you had a good time in VA. But there's no place like home, right!!!
