Debbie you are pretty as a picture...love it! Thanks for the visit and the nice greeting. We had a great time on our visit in Florida and my grand daughter is just sooo special. It was really great. A few problems with a water leak in a wall that ended up leaving a wet
carpet and a ruined wall to be repaired and repainted just before our anniversary greeted our return, but all is working out okay. Leak is fixed and the rest will be taken care of in the long run. Moving into the next phase of life with a smile on our faces. Of course, after all of this celebrating, I've got to get back to work in losing some of the excess weight simply to feel better. Come see me again soon.

Debby, I looked through all your Flickr pics this morning & didn't have time to comment. It's now 10:43 PM, & I STILL don't have time to comment. Haven't even started packing yet, & we leave for NC in about 10 hours! Maybe I can catch up with you later in the week after we get to my daughter's. Bye for now.

Hi Debby! Thanks for the well wishes for my daughter. She is doing okay, but still taking her pain meds & pretty groggy. Rob & I are keeping busy with three very active grandsons, ages, 6, 5, & 2. Took the 5 year old to his Taekwondo lessons tonight. Wow, what a wild scene that is, but oh so cute - all those tiny barefoot people in their little white suits! Wanted to ask you if Rosie is a dwarf rabbit? Granddaughter Asa just got one for her 8th birthday. His name is Buster Brown. Also, my dog when I was a little girl was named Tippy and later as a grownup we got another very similar looking dog & named her Tippytoo (II). Your family looks like such a nice bunch of people. No wonder you missed them so much when you were in FL! Do you have any grandchildren yet?

Debyy, I've never heard of Sanchun Ru karate, but I think I have a lot to learn about all kinds of martial arts! I'm confused about your daughter's bunny. If FuFu died last year, then is Rosie a new bunny or does she belong to someone else? I am enjoying my daughter's big black lab mix named Lexie. She is so sweet. I can't wait to STAY home long enough to get another dog. After we get home from this trip, we have two more planned for June & July, so looks like no dog until after that.

Hi Debby, Thought I would stop for a visit. Heard you have your hummer feeders out. I have had mine out for a couple of weeks, of course I live a little south of you. The hummers have already found my house, as they do every year. On average we will have 50 to 100 of the darlings, they know where the food is. I do have out 6 feeders and will put out another 4 to 6 by the end of May when more arrive. I do have a picture on my page 'taken from my kitchen window' from a couple of years ago. Please stop by anytime the door is always open.

hi debby!
thank you so much for the lovely spring flowers. they are greatly appreciated, as we are now in autumn, so they really cheered me up. where we live there aren't a lot of deciduous trees, so i sometimes really miss that lovely time of leaves changing colour, and raking them up and burning them - i know that is politically incorrect these days with global warming, but it brings back childhood memories!
once i get over the hangover from this lovely housewarming party, i'll do something about the decor! do hope you'll pop in again.

Hi Debby,
Good of you to visit. You have a good eye, yes, that is Kathy from Valrico. Was in Florida in March we had lunch one day before she left on her trip. She is really such a lovely caring person.
Hubby counted 15 hummers this morning, that was before the rain. I thought ours were the only ones who fought for the feeders. I buy sugar in the 4-5 pound bags, I really have no idea how many pounds we went thru last year, our son took care of the feeding last year. I spent most of the summer recovering from back surgery, so don't remember much of that time.

Debby, daughter Wendy had two splints removed from her nose yesterday & said it was SO painful. What an ordeal for her, but hopefully she will not suffer so many sinus infections anymore. She has three more days off before she goes back to work as a MICU nurse at the VA Hospital. We said tearful goodbyes to her, SIL, & the grandsons this morning & tonight we are all alone in our hotel room. Hope all is well in Michigan. When is your daughter's prom?

Hi, Debby! How long has your sister lived in Hoffman Estates? (We're 20-25 minutes from there.) In fact, we lived there when we first got married in 71. (No, not 1871 - thought I'd beat you to it, as we're used to our kids teasing about our age.) I enjoyed looking at your pictures in Flickr! I saw your violin ♫ so must ask if you are a professional musician/teacher/ lover of music? We spent many years taking our kids to music lessons, and they both have become professional musicians.♪♪♫
I hope you will have many wonderful visitors here!

Hi, again, Debby! Perhaps your children aren't musicians, but obviously creative. Did I not see a picture of a chef among the Flickr pictures?

Both kids started with Suzuki violin. At 3 1/2, one also decided to play the cello, so did both for a semester before eliminating the violin lessons. The other started to play the viola also around age 8 (for quartets, primarily), finally had some lessons on the viola the summer between junior & senior year of high school, started college as a double violin/viola major, and decided to concentrate on viola by sophomore year of college. I've been thinking I'd like to learn to play steel drum (taught at a local junior college).

Debby, Jenny pulled off the 20's look beautifully. She's darling! She looks like some movie star, but I can't quite think whom? Maybe Charlize Theron (sp.?)? Hope she had a good time. Is she a senior? What are her plans for the future?

Glad you dropped by for a visit, Debby, and thanks so much for the lovely goodies. We're in Hamilton, so a bit of driving is involved to get to Michigan, but a few years' back we spent a delightful (and cold) four days on Mackinac Island. We went in November and ended up using hotel towels as scarves--Brrr! But what a beautiful place. I'm bringing you a bottle of Niagara ice wine to share with others for dessert, and a huge bouquet of flowers to brighten your day.

Good morning, Debby! We're an hour from Toronto, and often drive there for Saturday lunches in different parts of the city. We're also a little more than an hour from Buffalo. We've got some nice little towns in our area that make for a nice weekend drive and stroll--Oakville, Stratford, Niagara-on-the-Lake, and further north is Collingwood, a ski destination but the town is lovely.

Hi Deb. Thank you for the lovely gifts. I am looking forward to trying the apples and the lovely drink. That is a very nice photo of what I presume is you and your hubby. Unfortunately I did not take the picture of the tiger. I think I might have to put one of my photos there, not that they would be that good. I only used it as I did not know what to put there.

Hello Debby - thanks for the visit.
We don't refer to this time of year as 'fall', just call it autumn. We have had some beautiful weather the past few days, temperatures around 23-26C and not a cloud in the sky. We did have some rain a week or so ago and have it forecast for this weekend, typical, especially as it's Mother's Day here too.
We don't get snow anywhere in West. Aust. except there is a small mountain range about 80miles north/east of Albany which usually gets snow one day every winter. We have had unusually strange weather the odd time and had snow storms in the wheatbelt about 100miles north, but these are just so unusual it only happens about once every 15-20 years, if that.
Albany weather is quite mild and moderate being on the south coast, we don't get extreme heat or cold in Albany, but the minimum only reaches about -4C in winter further up country.
Cheers
Anne

hi Debby, so glad you enjoyed the pictures. the cookies are wonderful. i haven't had any forever..(diet and being vegan limits the cookie intake. lol)

yes, we have traveled a bit. all my pictures of south america are not digital, so it is hard to share them online. (no scanner). hubby was in the navy when we married. i think they put salt water in his veins, as he has always loved the sea and travel. he was also an international salesman and traveled the globe. i didn't go with him as i was home raising 2 sons. once they were grown, i traveled some with him. the pix on flickr were not from business travels, they were fun trips. except for versailles. i went there for a hip replacement. it was interesting to see paris from a wheelchair. lol. so glad i didn't have to use that long!

we love MI. we spent about 18 months in charlevoix a few years ago (wow, past 5 years ago now.) we loved it there. used it as a base (he was working in East Jordan). i drove over mackinac bridge.that was quite an experience. i think there should be a metal of some kind for actually driving across it. lol

hope to chat soon. we will be traveling this weekend back to louisiana so i will be out of touch until the satelite gets hooked up again. thanks again for your kind words.

it's me again. my family (mom, sister, brothers, all live in Indiana, so when i travel IN to NC, i go by Mount Airy. it is one of my landmarks. we travel between NC and LA several times a year for hubby's job. the co. he works for has plants in both places and also in el paso, tx. he will go there in a week or 2 for a few days, so i won't go with him. we usually stay for 3 - 6 months in each place, but this time we were in NC only 5 weeks. lots shorter than we thought. they just need him in LA. lol. that's fine with us. we love the weather and food there. cajun isn't really hot, just yummy. lots of fresh seafood. yumm to that too, even tho i really try not to have it regularly.

we are about 1 hour due east of raleigh, so that makes it about 2.5 hr from the coast. a great weekend getaway.

so besides lighthouses, you must like the mountains also. that's a good combination. have you been to gatlinburg, TN?

Hello again, Debby! You're absolutely right that we should be able to indulge in a little silly fun on this site. Some may call it childish, but I prefer to call it 'child-like' and see nothing wrong with delighting in the absolutely foolish. Too many serious things to worry about in the world, so to escape for awhile with some madcap, harmless antics has got to be good for the soul. Can't understand why those who feel otherwise would take the time to gripe about it; surely there must be other places where they can indulge their more 'sophisticated' tastes, i.e. grumpyoldfart.com Anyway, sending you a meadow full of daisies for you to run barefoot through and hoping you have a terrific weekend!

me again! yes! fancy gap is the necessary stop for gas before we cross into NC. lol. gas prices jump dramatically in NC, so i know where you mean. gorgeous area. i wasn't thrilled to pull a uhaul trailer with my car from IN to NC a year ago. but i did it, whew!
i'll bet your view is wonderful - the mountains and your pond. wow. how often do you get there?

wow. a fellow fiddler. i took lessons in grade school and picked it up again a few years ago. i take lessons when in LA, so i hope to start them again when we get there next week. i'm still in 'kindergarden' as far as playing, but i have fun. hubby and i are practicing together, as he's taking guitar lessons. what fun.

have you considered a camper for the site until you decide for sure about building? we are full time RVers and a 40 ft. camper is our only home now. it has taken some adjustment for me to not have a 'home' but we get to do fun stuff and i've adjusted. i sure couldn't see the outer banks as often as i do if we weren't living this lifestyle..

Hi Debby! You're right, it's so good to be home again. We spent most of Mother's Day driving home, & I didn't get to see any of my children or grandchildren that day. But I did talk to them on the phone after we got home, & I got very nice gifts from all three of my girls - 2 open salts & 2 salt spoons (I have a big collection of them) from Wendy while we were in NC, a CD & my favorite perfume Pleasures from Amy, & yesterday Kyley came by to bring a really neat digital photo picture frame. My together time will come NEXT month when everybody except Kyley & son-in-law Alex will get to come to the beach house with us. That will be LOTS different than the nice quiet week Rob & I had alone there last week!!! It's wild having all 7 grandkids in one house, but I love seeing them have fun together. We are going to try to do it every summer until they're all grown up.
