I wasted a bunch of hours today. My Dentist is an hours drive away (she's worth the drive). I got there, only to discover that the lab made a lovely bunch of teeth, but all were the wrong color. Way too dark. So they have to be sent back to the lab. So I get to go back on the 19th. At least I don't have to recover from novocain tonight.

Thanks to everyone wishing me well for tomorrow's surgery! I'm fortunate to have a fantastic surgeon, so all should go well - just a bit later in the day than I had expected. Tami had requested a phone number for my hubby, which I sent. I also requested her phone number so he can get in touch with her. She will post news so all will know how it goes. Thanks, Tami!
Oh, dear, Heidi! Teeth that are the wrong color? That just won't do, especially for teeth near the front. So sorry you had all that driving just to find out, but SOO glad that they will make them the right shade for you! Better luck next time - on the 19th!

Tomorrow, Julie. I have a good feeling that everything will go well.
Yes, the teeth were the wrong color. They actually had a greenish grey tinge. Very weird looking.

Hi everyone,
I have received Julie's pm with her husband's number. I will send her mine, but she may not get to a computer in time. I will call tomorrow and post as soon as possible. I asked for the number so that at least, someone can post and let us know she is out of surgery.

Afternoon all!
We have a car! Some of you may see it this weekend, but I will post a pic eventually for the rest of you.
Julie, I scanned down to see if you posted (I haven't read any of the other posts yet so if you've posted again on page 443...) So glad to hear you felt better this morning. The other problem with an 8.30 start is more time fasting!

Suzanne, good luck with the MK. It's a harsh economic climate right now and I hope you can make it through until things pick up.
June, congrats on your win at bowls! It was a miserable day to be out in the heat though. Today we have drizzle and I'm even thinking about putting on a sloppy joe.
Vici, what a bummer you didn't get to fly! It sounds like you had fun anyway luckily.
Cyn, I laughed when I read your comment about winning but still losing. Sounds like life doesn't it?
I'm off to pick the kids up from school and get some more practice in on the car so will have to finish reading later...

Rolanda, it sounds like you had a long day yesterday and another one today. Hugs!
Nola, your Melbourne Cup day at work sounds tiring, but so much fun for the residents. It's great that you did that for them.
Brenda, the everglades are something I hear about in stories, to be there in real life sounds exciting. Of course the people who live there probably take it for granted...
Suzanne, I'm sure the promoters want the series to go to 7 games...

Afternoon..
Just home, with groceries in tow.
Time for some late lunch, before putting the groceries away.
The delightful Red Headed one (S#2), is just about out the door on his way to work.
I feel a 'nana nap' is in order for this afternoon.

Great news about the car Suzy. Looking forward to seeing the new car on Saturday.
My 'Friend" was back from recovery and into the ward at about 8pm. Pleased stage one is over.
And Laura is supposed to be asleep and still on the go. Looks like I have to go to bed so she will go to sleep!
The house looks like a bomb has hit is with all her 'craft' work.

THE SITE IS ACTING WEIRD FOR ME TODAY< OR PERHAPS ITIS MY COMPUTER< OH I hope not! I cannot read anything after the " more" I cannot scroll the page as i usually do, I hope it clears up later!
I got good news and bad news from the dermatologist. My biospy was benign tumor, a fibroma. Nothing else needed to be done. My hair loss is female pattern baldness and it is progressing rapidly. I am not in the best of spirits at the moment about this. Had one good cry, might have another. the Rogain MIGHT help stop loss in a few weeks or months of daily use of this med. It might change my hair color. It might cause weight gain. WHAT? rubbing stuff on my bald head is going to keep me from loosing weight? This is going to be cute, I can be fat and maybe have hair, or slimmer and healthy and be bald. AAAAGGGGH.
I think I will go out in the garden and eat worms today.

Good Maen everyone...Just getting my day started (woke up about an hour ago). Tigger decided he wanted to snuggle this morning, so he was all over me on the bed (crazy cat!)...Seems he's not hurt anywhere, just moody...He got on the sofa with me last night while I was watching Dancing with the Stars and he cuddled up & was purring his brains out! I've got lunch with my buddy Janet today...Out with Darrell tomorrow. Hope everyone who is ailing (having surgery, etc.) gets well soon! Gotta sign off for now, TTFN.

MizT, what Gail said. Your lovely hats will help I'm sure. I understand your dilemma about the weight gain with all the health benefits you have been getting from your special diet. That's a tough one. Sending big hugs!

Rolanda, I hope you got your nap and the world is looking brighter.
It is another rainy day today. We needed it after the hot and windy days we've had. I think I will spend today catching up on ffuts, I'm a little behind as usual. Hubby will have the new car as he has to drive to Wollongong this afternoon so I can't go and practice. In the car yard it looked tiny, it doesn't look so tiny at home. I parked next to a Hyndai Excel and it is almost exactly the same length, but it is much higher/taller! I picked up the kids from school yesterday and they squealed with happiness. I was asked to drive 2 of their friends home too. I'm told it is very roomy in the back seat. Hubby is excited because the instruction book has directions for laying all of the seats flat to turn it into a bed - a feature we weren't expecting. (And I can't imagine a use for at the moment).

It must have been very sudden.
Heidi..green/gray teeth hmmmm. They must be colour blind to think ANYONE would want them.

I just spoke to Julie's husband. She came through surgery fine, everything went well. She is still in recovery and waiting for a room. It is about 7:15 her time, and I think surgery was around noonish. I will call back over the weekend and get an update. I don't want to bother her, at least not yet.

Suzy, good luck with the new car. I am sure you will get used to it. I live about one mile from the edge of the everglades.

June, glad your friend is doing well after surgery.

Back again - thanks Tami for the update on Julie. So good that someone (you) thought to get a contact number so that we don't all have to worry and wonder. We should all make sure that others have our numbers. I have a few and have given mine to a few people (Broni lives the closest to me).

I posted some of this on Facebook but I will tell you all the story of my day - i have been abused TWICE!
Firstly - I had to call in quickly to a different dentist in a different suburb - was late, couldn't find the street, then the car park was full. I finally spotted a free space and shot in there, ran to the dentist, was there 15 mins and on returning to my car found the following note: 'You'r (their spelling) lucky you weren't towed away, you saw the sign and completely ignored it. Next time you WILL be towed away and we have your rego number'. When I checked there was a small sign, low down saying the spot was reserved for the staff of a nearby Accounting firm. I did not see it and do not do those things. Later I met Colin for a coffee and we agreed that I should have looked and a more polite note would have had me in their office apologising for my mistake. He decided to go to see them and asked for the Manager. He apologised profusely and said it was not the practice of their firm to do such things and he's looking into the matter. I did the wrong thing but I think that kind of abuse was uncalled for.
Secondly: I went to see my Mum, I saw a new resident come towards us and I smiled at her as I do all of them and speak to them if I can. This woman took one look at me and started slapping at me with the towel she had in her hand. She got in a few good slaps before someone got to her and she proceeded to spit at the staff member who pulled her off me. They apologised and I do understand, my Mum could be handy with a handbag at a few paces if someone invaded her space - but this poor old soul ran at me. She is a new resident, European - not much English but obviously did not like the look of me (nor do I). You should have seen Mum's maternal instincts come through - 'You leave my daughter alone! - she sure remembered who I was when the chips were down.

Oh dear CynB. What a day for you.
Good on Colin for going to see them.
Love it how your Mum told her off. Lol.
It has been pouring rain here.
Very nice to see it on the gardens.
I had to drive Ethan to work though and so will
have to go out at 9pm tonight to collect him.
Enjoy June's party for Vici CynB. Looking forward to seeing some pics.
Thanks for the news of Julie Tami.
Nice to hear she came through it okay.

Only 2 days to go! Less than 2 now. I'm actually dreading it and don't feel ready as it is many years since I have driven in Sydney alone. It will be worth it though!!
Tami, thank you for letting us know about Julie. I hope she didn't have to wait too much longer for a room. I'm very glad she is okay.
Rolanda, have a great weekend away in the van, and a great chinwag tonight!
Tami, was I right about locals taking the everglades for granted? The population of my little town swells from 90,000 to 400,000 in summer. I keep forgetting to take advantage of the stuff they all come down here for.

Hi everyone
Oh Cyn I can picture it happening
did it happen in the afternoon,
as she may have been sundowning,
Hope it didnt upset you, as she had no idea of what she was doing, try something for me if you have a similar incident happen to you,
when she starts swinging, call out something to throw her off her trail of thought, ie; hey did you get new shoes, or what did you have for lunch
