Gekko my friends.
Nola, great to hear from you, perhaps we should send Greg to vet?
June, hope you are walking straight now and are in less pain.
MizT, that pic on TOS was amazing, you look so well and happy.
SOF you are still in my thoughts, take care.
Theresa, hope they can do something for you eyes, you have way too much on your plate. Wishing you peace.
Zusy, it is hard being strong all the time.
Luv and Jugs to you all.
SKIP THE NEXT BIT, JUST BEING SORRY FOR MYSELF.
Heidi, yes she is my child as you know both my partner JD and BJ Basset passed almost seven years ago and I just couldn't bear the though......
Well we survived the night. Bella slept and I took a while to de-stress. Bella must have been under anaesthetic for over three hours with the extra work they did on her and that worried me. She is still recovering today and sleeping lots.
Due to the tooth extractions she had chicken for dinner last night and I had toast and vegemite (What is wrong with this picture??)

Evening, Ladies. Sentimental I may be. A “wordsmith”, I am not. Somehow it didn’t seem fitting to place my post on “easy” and I needed to express my feelings. I am unable to come up with anything to say, other than a simple “thank you” for the comforting words you posted in reply.

Hallo friends! Seems I haven't been here for a while, so I'll just add a few words ...
My family have scattered all over the world - oldest went to Japan (and returned safely!) Son and his young lady went to South America and had a great time. Youngest daughter is there at the moment! Middle daughter finally found a new job, but they've told here there isn't enough work to keep on permanently ... well at least she can add to her CV ...
We head off to Europe in a few days - haven't been away for a while, so we're hoping it will be good.
My piano lessons are slow, and I have to do Theory, which doesn't make me feel good!
That's about all I can think of .
Hope everyone is well and happy. :)
Sentimental Old Fart - Welcome to the site, though I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. ♥

Hi, Everyone!
June, hopefully today's injection will bring some relief to this shoulder. Too bad the last injection didn't last longer! Were you able to get to bed shortly after taking the Lyrica?
Broni, wonderful news that Bella came through her anesthesia so well - and a very smart vet you have to take care of other concerns while she was anesthetized!
Mamacita, your words of wisdom are welcome music to our ears! Thank you!
MizT, a VERY busy day with lots accomplished! I hope your recliner time and meds at appropriate intervals will contribute to a full and restful night's sleep!
Heidi, I hope the trip to Florida and back didn't introduce new pains! Sure hope you have been able to catch up on sleep!
Broni, I enjoyed your TOPP, as well as TOPP+1 and TOPP+2!
Sentimental 'ol F@rt, your words of advice are also thought-provoking. Thanks for sharing!
Judy, don't be concerned about piano lessons going slowly. And yes, theory can be mentally challenging. (I'm also taking theory, and sometimes I think it's just too much to figure out.) It's almost 2.5 years since I started my cello lessons, which are also going slowly. I'm my teacher's only adult student. She has me play on 'performance classes' and recitals, along with her other students. I sit there in awe of what those kids can do - fingers flying, notes in tune, dynamics and emotion in their playing - and get frustrated. Hubby pointed out a couple of days ago that the teacher may not realize what a challenge it is for me as an adult compared to the kids. (Many of her young students are among the best for their age in the music school.) The point is that neither of us is planning a career as a concert artist. We're taking lessons for the enjoyment and the challenge it presents. Don't be discouraged! Hang in there! You can do it!
Judy, ENJOY your time away! Relax and do all the things you want to do! You'll come home refreshed!
Time to think about shutting down here. Sending lots of {{{{{HUGS and JUGS}}}}}, prayers, positive thoughts,
, and healing vibes for everyone!

I had a good night last night although having the cortisone made me very alert.
Today I had traction on my neck. Feeling quite OK tonight. Although my left hand is still pins and needles.
Laura is coming for morning tea tomorrow as we are going away on Sunday (Mother's Day). I have bought Profiteroles and mini cup cakes. I will set it up all very special on a tiered cake dish.

Good Morning all, June, good to hear that you are feeling better and looking forward to making morning tea special for Laura...enjoy.So nice to have our two musical students here and doing what most of us do, complain about the study of theory and how it slows down what they most want to do...play...I can relate...that is one reason why I chose not to study an instrument, because I just wanted to play w/o the studying and the practice...That being said, tells much of why I take my hat off to both you, Judy and You, Julie, or team J&J, for sticking with the practice even when it slows down and going forward into the theory even if it slows you down... Hang in there, I believe you will both be winners. Judy, enjoy the vacation and have lots of rest along with the fun.Broni, you sound a bit brighter today...the fur baby must have had a good night cause it shows in his Mommy's post...Lol. SOF...post any time...no wordsmiths around here...just good folk talking to other good folk about any and every thing...you do that well...so good to have ya. Off to follow the yellow brick road for today and see if I can find the good witch to help do some good...too often I hook up with the bad witch...time for a change...Peace and hugs, and any thing else you may need is in the meantime.♥

The horse's feet have been trimmed, and my back hurts. In half an hour, we're gonna try to catch an older calf (one of 3 born late summer) that had escaped when IH was in charge of working the cattle. I'm really gonna need some sleep after that.

Judy have a wonderful holiday. This time tomorrow we leave on a bust trip to rural NSW with out Probus group. There will be about 40 of us. Looking forward to getting away. Must go and get things ready for morning tea with Laura.

Hi Everyone, just dropping in quickly to let you know today had been a lot better, as Judy said, taking my meds at appropriate intervals, even with a storm front coming through. Nothing severe for us, not even lightning, just some rain. I will not have as much to water outside, just the things under the crosswalk. I will be back later, off for a nap now, seems the thing to do after doing laundry today.

Heidi, rest well.
Forgot to mention that the employee from hell has a certificate for another month off and Workcover will not be making a decision on her case for a couple more weeks. Don't see how she can ever come back to work but that problem is delayed till the end of this month now.

Heidi, I know when you have thunder boomers, your Collies get all upset and are coming to you for reassurance. I hope you are soon over the storms. Yesterday and today both we had only sprinkles from passing weather fronts, and could use some rain. I had to go out and drag hoses to get the drive garden out back watered today, plus transport watering cans full to water other areas, flowers in containers. Did I say I had bought daisies, another pot of them to go out back? One of the more able bodied residents, if he is careful, dug me a $12 hole for my $6 pot of daisies :). He wants me to be in the Do Dah Parade, holding the EP Banner. I have repeatedly told him NO, but he just does not take NO for an answer. Told him I would think about it but it was going to cost him hehehe, and got him to help today.
Back is so so, it gets better with medication, I do a bit while it is good and enjoy every minuet of both the feeling good and the doing, then meds wear off and achies again until time. In all the papers I had to fill out for pain clinic, one question was what level of pain could I be content to achieve. I gave him a number but added, could I please have just a bit of zero pain occasionally? I have got more than occasionally now and am so very thankful!
Time for a bit of bed rest until next meds, so will close/ I did read, and thought of every one of you when I did.
Hugs to each of you with extras, till later.

We had a really enjoyable family gathering at the beach this morning. It wouldn't have mattered if it was Mothers Day and Josh's Birthday, as just being all together was great.
The kids had fun building sand castles, getting wet, eating, etc etc.and they all went home very tired. The weather couldn't have been better.
HMD to the topsiders for tomorrow.

I have just bought a new washing machine after mine dies at about 18yrs old. Mum was with me when I picked it out. Sentimental, I know, but saying goodbye to possessions, sometimes brings back special memories.
I have been going thru Judys jewelry, and came across a wedding ring. Nobody that is still living, knows who it belonged to. Only engagement rings were willed. I am wearing it, in the hope that it was very precious to either my Mum or a Grandmother. Quite appropriate for Mothers Day I thought, and wanted to share with you.

Sentimental of, you say you're not good with words, but I think I'll disagree today. Please come back to chat if you'd like to. Memories are always welcome here.
Speaking of memories, Nola, I love the wedding ring story. I'm sure you're right about it being special. Mum didn't help me choose appliances, but I have a house full of craft and paintings. I'll never be able to downsize because I won't have enough walls!
It's raining here so no beach for us today. We usually go to St George's Basin for fish and chips, but because Daniel was having lunch with his dad's family, we switched to dinner this year. We'll be leaving in about an hour...
MizT, I love that you are getting some pain free time now.

Broni, I love the chicken and vegemite toast anecdote! Yep, she's still your baby..
Theresa, I hope your daughter is doing better. The last time you mentioned her she was I'll and you were watching the kids more. Unfortunately I expect that your grandie is no easier, the diagnosis explains the behaviour but doesn't improve it. My foster uncle's young crush has Aspergers. He stayed here a few days and was lovely, if a little hyper, but at home he is argumentative and aggressive. He got my uncle in trouble at the caravan park he lives in by telling off other residents while Bob was at work.. Bob is trying to distance himself since there is a 30 year age difference and he thinks it's too much. I am glad because J brings so much drama with him. He talks for hours and hours about relationships etc! I would never want to be in my 20's again!!

You are all so fortunate to have pleasant memories of mothers and families associated with personal and household items. The few memories and flashbacks I get are nightmares. I love reading your stories, and envy you for them. ButI don't comment much about them because I cannot identify, and don't want to bring anyone down.
My busy day on Friday did my back in. I had been feeling so good that I didn't need my pain meds more than once every other day. But not getting the rest breaks I needed on Friday has put the back into spasm. Maximum meds are barely working.
The next epidural isn't until June 3rd, AFTER the day at Churchill Downs (this coming Saturday) and AFTER the trip to Wisconsin for my FIL's 90th Birthday party.

Bad memories of your mother is sad. Your
exact opposite nature of being a great mother to all your animals is worthy of a HMD. They would all thank you dearly, for all you lovingly do for them.

Heidi, I feel the same way when people say nice things about their fathers. It's a horrible feeling. You must really hate Mother's Day. I haven't hated Fathers Day since hubby because he's such a good Dad.

I don't hate Mother's Day... it just has little meaning for me when it comes to my mother. I did enjoy sending things to my MIL, though. She was a wonderful woman who treated me like a loved daughter. We celebrated her memory this evening. That's one reason why I stay with IH.... he has a wonderful family.

When I see what Suzy and Heidi have written I feel sad they did not experience what I was lucky enough to have - my parents were loving and supportive. My kids - well what can I say!! Yesterday I decided I have too many keepsakes and gave each of my kids and their partners a beautiful hand embroidered tablecloth made by my grandmother when she was in her 70's. I am giving away most of these things in the hope I get to see others enjoying them. To Heidi, Mamacita, MizT, Suzy and all of you who are in pain I hope you are getting some relief. I was to do the 4km Mothers Day Classic walk as well yesterday but decided my energy levels weren't up to it. Have only managed 3km so far (with plenty of rests). My daughter offered to push me in the wheelchair for the last km but I am determined to do it on my own - this is my next goal.Heidi - that is a good enough reason to hang around. Broni - glad to read Bella is doing well after her op. Don't you feel helpless when your best friend can't tell you what is wrong. My Truman has some sort of nasty eye and ear infection so back to the vet again today. Now the kitty has gone he is sleeping inside and loving it. We couldn't have him in before as he likes the kitty litter too much. Never had such a 'doggy' dog before!! Best wishes to everyone.
