I live in a small town near Fort Worth, Texas with my husband of 31 years and my two almost grown daughters.  My husband and I write for a living.  Together we have had over 200 books published.  I am presently writing mysteries under my maiden name Livia J. Washburn.  I also wrote under L.J. Washburn.  My husband is writing westerns and mysteries.  If you have any of my books you would like to have autographed, you can send it to P.O. Box 931, Azle, TX 76020.  You can check out our websites at www.liviawashburn.com and www.jamesreasoner.net

Hi, Livia!
Oh, how terrible to lose so much in a fire. Glad you're able to enjoy some refreshment in Sudokuland.

One of my favorite new recipes is Black Forest Cookies (chocolate with dried cherries and choc bits), so please enjoy a plate of these here in your new pad!

I love mysteries and will look for your books! I recently attended a mystery panel at a local library (2 of the 3 authors I was familiar with) and altho I'm not an aspiring author, it was so interesting to hear them speak about getting their 1st books published and all the hard work they put into book promotion, research, etc...

Hi Livia, I hope things are going better for you now. Next to Stephen King stories, mysteries by women authors are my favourite. I will keep my eyes open for one of your books. I am dropping off a big box of Purdy's chocolates for you and your guests. Come visit my page sometime.

and - Thanks for the excuse to return once again to the library - I will have to check out your offerings. I just wrote a little piece for one of my water classes - where we have to reflect of the quiet of our surroundings -- not easy for me but I enjoyed it once I started. I'm near Chicago and off to do the taxes in a little bit -- hope you enjoy your day, Mary

Hi Livia! Now I understand what book everyone was talking about! Glad you have joined us & are now WRITING in Sudokuland instead of just reading!!! Seems like the others have already brought plenty of wine, flowers, & desserts, so I will leave you a flat of delicious fresh Florida strawberries which are now being harvested in nearby Plant City, FL!! Hope to see more of you on the site & maybe in some books you have written, too! I plan to look for them. What kind of books does your husband write?

Sorry to hear about the fire - what a terrible experience, especially losing your pets.

Sorry, back again, meant to say that some of us were only yesterday discussing the joys of reading a book - as opposed to movies etc. - nothing like it!

Gday and Livia. This place is the best for friends and a comforting cyber hug when needed. We have lived in bushfire prone areas on and off for the last 16 years and I feel your pain. Our fire season is nearing it's end but we have not had rains for a long time so I fear it will go on for a while yet.
Looking forward to seeing you around, take care.

Hi Livia...back again!
A few hours ago you were posting on easy as I was posting here....cyber connection!
I have caught up with all of your subsequent posts. Golly you've been through the mill!!
I hope you get the same degree of comfort and enjoyment from this site at this difficult time in your life as I have over the last year. I think it has saved my sanity during a very difficult period.

I've always felt that laughter was the best medicine and there certainly is plenty of that [along with a bit of mischief if that is what you are into]on this site.

Looking forward to getting to know you better. with the rebuild. Bye for now.

Welcome! About 4 years ago, we had a massive evacuation near here. Moved my inlaws in for 2 1/2 weeks! We had 21 people, 8 extra horses, 10 extra cows, 2 extra dogs and a ferret living with us, just at my house. My parents had almost as many people, no cattle, just as many extra horses with them right next door. Luckily, everyone's property survived that fire. I understand how you feel. I know my mother-in-law called her house everyday, thinking that if the answering machine picked up, the house was still standing.

This is a great site, your new friends will offer as much emotional support as you need. Sometimes, it helps coming from a cyberfriend as much as it does your family...

Hi Livia! I'm sorry to hear about your loss in the wild fire. I hope that you'll find your home again either in a new place or a rebuild on your property. An Author! I am tickled pink about your being an author! I'll be sure to look for your books. Any chance if I buy your book, I could have it autographed by you? I teach third grade and we finally got these kids writing. If I could show them that authors are everyday people too I think I could spur them on to more writing. Just think about it.

I leave a box of my favorite chocolates, Leonidas and some California and and some for your daughters (you didn't say if they were of legal drinking age so they get hot chocolate)!! Plus a for your page!

Livia, just finished reading "Peach of a Murder" Funny I feel that Phyllis, Sam, Carolyn, and Eve are old friends of mine. Was sad to see Mattie go like a friend left. As you can see I enjoyed the book, and now am starting with "Murder by the Slice".

I enjoyed having my DIL and grandson for the holidays. That scamp of a grandie is the joy of my life. Just wish my son, his father was here too instead of Iraq. Been traveling a lot this year, to North Carolina to visit them, took my grandson on a 4-state trip. Went to San Jose and San Francisco for a sudoku meeting! Have met 12 sudokuists in person and two by Skype!

Hey Livia, have just got your books through the library. Haven't seen them in the shops. Salivating over the 'Peach' book at the moment. Very enjoyable.
