Bonjour Claude - to your own page.
Haven't you been posting comments occasionally for a long time, your name seems familiar.
I know it's like giving ice to an Eskimo but here is a bottle of our local Goundry Unwooded Chardonnay for you to enjoy.
Cheers

Claude, welcome to Sudokuland, and hope to see you posting comments again and again. I am leaving you some home made apple butter, was what was cooking in my kitchen when I first visited a page, now it is a tradition.

Catch up with HUGH, he just retired also, you can compare notes.

and Claude. Just dropping by to say Hi and going to taste some of that Apple butter I see - I havn't had that for ages. Being in the Midwest and in the mist of a 17 year cycle - the cicada (locust) are coming up in drowels - seems that is what I'm giving out these days - Not many in my neighborhood - due to the younger trees - but one town over - they are singing up a storm - take care and have a good day, Mary

Bonjour Claude! Came to thank you for your note to me on Easy & realized I have never stopped for a visit on your page before! You must have a lot of energy to be able to take care of a 7 & 2 year old for TWO weeks! Does your husband help you much? I am lucky that Rob helps me a lot, especially with driving the children to school & other activities. The oldest is 11, the youngest is 5, two boys & two girls. In April we will be babysitting for the other daughter's children, three boys ages 7, 6, & 3!! I never dreamed I would have 7 grandchildren, & our youngest daughter isn't even married yet! How far away do your grandchildren live? How often do you get to see them?

Hello Kathy! In fact, I still have a lot of energy because I retired from teaching last July and I'm very happy to have my grand-children during school holidays, which was impossible when I was working. I've got only 2 from my eldest son(Eléa, a 7-year-old girl and Antoine who will be 3 next August)and they come here 1 or 2 weeks for every holiday. My husband never helps me because he's still working but he knows he will have to deal with his meals : we spend as much time as possible outside. I live not far from the sea and my cousins have a farm close to our town. Those children from the cities have visited plenty of zoos but they have never seen a cow or a hen! They live about 300km from our home and we try to get there every month. nfortunately my other children (Nicolas, 31, and Claire, 27,) are still waiting for their great love and I wonder if I'll have other babies one day!

Happy Easter Claude, nice of you to drop in, it is also my pleasure to bring you a 'bouquet de jonquilles'. There is not any on the ground yet, but I found those at the Supermarket. You are very fortunate to be not far from the sea, I love being on a waterfront. We have a trailer by the Lake in Québec (Abitibi) and we spend all summer there. I also taught for 33 years and enjoy retirement. May Easter bring Joy, Love and Serenity to you and your family.

Hi Claude, thank you for your welcome, and sorry to be so long in responding. I'm nothing like the famous Twiggy, more like an Australian koala! Thanks too for the lovely daffodils, a breath of spring, and the Pineau des Charentes I'm sure to enjoy. Please have some of this chocolate ginger.

Hi Claude! I didn't know you had 2 labs! What color are they? Names? Bet you are looking forward to spending a week with Eléa Will you not have Antoine with you this time around? 3 year old boys are definitely harder to occupy than 7 year old girls! Have a wonderful time together. Sure wish you could post some pictures of both your dogs & your grandchildren. Would love to see them.

P.S. forgot to ask if you will be able to watch the Davis Cup quarterfinals this weekend? Just saw that Andy Roddick beat France in the first match. Not sure who he played against. I'll have to turn my TV on & check the coverage.

Thank you for welcoming me Claude. I, too, am unable to use smilies. That is because I use a Mac instead of a PC with Windows programing. They are not very compatible.
I would like to thank you with a bottle of our local Kentucky Bourbon, some of the best in the world. Or offer you a Mint Julep to sip while watching horse racing at Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby.

Claude, sorry to hear about the baby. I was for many years a donor here in France of plasma also, but my group is A+. Good luck in the search, if I was a good match I would definitely give.
