I agree with you about the electronic devices in the vehicle. I regret putting DVD players in the car, Kendall and I don't talk or sing or explore any more and Morgan, before we open the car door, yells for the DVD to be turned on. I was so happy when one stopped working, and I lied and said both broke, should have let Mike in on my plan. I did take it out of the car once, again, should have told Mike my plan. If I do not want the girls to find something, I take whatever upstairs, if I do not want Mike to find something, I hide whatever in plain site. He put the player back in the car.
Kendall learned to count and her colors, from our road trips at a young age. Poor Morgan still gets her colors mixed up and is only counting to five and that is because that is how many steps we have to get on the porch.
My nephew (14) has stopped talking to me, because if he is not on his cell phone, he is on the computer, or playing either hand held, computer, or TV video games. I know he is a teenager but I miss actual conversation with him.

Hi Sarah!
You know, others have a hard time understanding how I can feel so close to people I have never met. I think it's a phenomenon unique to Sudokuland. It is a wacky, but wonderful group, isn't it?
Thank you for the birthday wishes!

You asked on Hard today about the speed pictures come in after you've solved the puzzle. I wrote the following: I noticed that when I changed from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome, so, for me it was the browser. ... but then figured you'd probably never see it, and decided to re-post it here.

Your picture of the slogan about no representation prompted my wife to ask me if that meant DC citizens don't get to vote. Is that true? I'm embarrassed to admit that I really don't know.

Hi Sarah. Good luck with your azalea research. Most of my azaleas are evergreen, with a few deciduous ones.

Sarah, so very sorry to hear about your father's condition. These are the toughest days, and my warmest thoughts go out to you and your family as you steel yourselves for what is to come. I know you'll make this time precious and you'll gather close family and friends to rally round for support. Bless you all--you're in my prayers.

Hi Sarah. Lovely to see you on my page. Thank you. We did have a great holiday. I also had no idea about the pancake rocks. A taxi driver told us we that really should detour to see them. We are really glad he did.

Thanks for your nice comments about my home page. On our holiday we took a mountain of photos so I tried to only show the best ones on my page. I think I succeeded.

I'm sorry to learn that you don't like LA much. I thoroughly enjoyed it from a tourist perspective because there were lots of things to see that you just can't see anywhere else.

New York was more of a shock to me. We stayed in Manhattan within easy walking distance of everything but those concrete canyons took some getting used to. By the end of our week long stay however, I had grown used to it. I still remember the fire engine sirens blaring at night about every hour or so as they race across town. That and the arguments/fights that went on in a small park across the road from us late at night. We stayed indoors.

Orlando was like a breath of fresh air. We drove for miles and miles through beautiful green countryside with pockets of development along the way. I much prefer wide open spaces.

Las Vegas surprised me because it was so hot. We were there at the end of Spring and it was 100 degrees outside. Some of the pitch black bitumen on the road was melting. Thank goodness for those air conditioned casinos.

Washington was a very pleasant surprise. We were only there for 2 days and didn't have enough time to see it all. I had heard of the Smithsonian Institute and we invested time visiting it. My goodness, I was expecting one building, not an endless row of them. We visited 4 of them and Margaret especially liked looking at the outfits worn by the Presidents' wives down through history.

As far as that photo is concerned with Obama and us, the inaccurate scene outside the window will just have to be our little secret.
