Bluey - thanks for filling me in on your family. Sam sounds really unique! I hope Margie can help you post a picture of him soon. Please come tell me when it's ready for viewing. I think we got a real bargain with our little Ebony. We only paid $75 to the County Animal Services for her, & she came to us already spayed, licenced, microchipped, treated for worms, fleas, ticks, & mites, and with her first round of shots. We'd have paid the vet much more than $75 for all those things!!

Bluey, our visit to Wooollngng (3 'o's) was just fabulous. I thought of you travelling by train with some envy. You live in a great part of Australia. I took a few photos which I will post on my flickr site as soon as I get a few spare moments. Cheers.

Hi Bluey, we stopped off at the Panorama Lookout for morning tea. The wind was frigid but the hot cuppa was nice and the views spectacular. We then went back to Stanwell Tops and turned back to pick up the coast road and travelled along the Bridge, stopping at the second viewing deck. Anne and I (and half the busload) wandered back along the footpath to the big bend to get a view back towards our bus. My problem was that we were looking back into the sun from where the bus stopped, making good photography difficult. I took a few photos into the sun but discovered after we returned home that I had attached the lens hood at a slight angle and it appeared in a lot of the photos. Never mind, I can crop it out and have learnt an important lesson.
I must confess that I didn't notice the big 'stack' but I probably have it in one of my photos and will look for it after breakfast. You should appreciate that we didn't do any sightseeing in town because the driver got a little bit lost and we spent most of the time hungrily 'helping' him find our lunch.
Lunch was held in the W*ll*ng*ng (insert an appropriate letter) RSL (I think it was called the Diggers Club). It was surprisingly good - tasty, well-cooked, fast service and lots of food on the plates. I was impressed.
All in all it was a great excursion to a lovely part of the Soutn Coast. We shall be back.

Hi Bluey. Haven't dropped in for a while, so I thought I'd stop by and see how you and yours are doing. I assume the Beth in your Flickr pictuires is one of your children who was missing in your Christmas picture. She seems to have your features, but if I'm wrong, apologies. Cheers to all, and stay smiling!

Hello Bluey - sorry it's taken me so long to return your visit. for the lovely compliments about my photos. I really enjoy taking them and when I've finished painting my lounge room, etc, I hope to be able to go for a few drives out of town and take some more photos to add to them.
I hope all is well with your and yours.
Cheers, Anne

hi bluey
hope you and your family are a bit south of that dreadful weather on the coast around newcastle and everything is ok. as a child i used to loe the wild weather around sydney. i lived in goulburn and sometimes stayed with my worldly city cousins in sydney, and when bad weather blew up we would jump on a ferry and keep going back and forth across the harbour until they closed the service. don't think i'd like to try it today - they said there were 5 metre waves in the harbour. can't even imagine that!

Hi Bluey, Greg has just pricked my conscience and asked 'Does Bluey know that you have a satellite photo of her home?' I should have asked your permission before I posted the photo of Port Kembla but I didn't think. Sorry.
However, it really is a long distance photo and the 'Big Stack' is only just visible in the distance and I thought people would appreciate your very beautiful surroundings. I do hope you are not upset.

Hi Bluey, welcome home. The weather was pretty wild last week but it seems it didn't spoil your holiday - apart from a suicidal dash up the F3 in terrible weather. We were fortunate in that we survived with only a few buckets of rain - others were not so fortunate. My brother and his wife drove up from Melbourne to do a couple of weeks house-sitting at - wait for it - Lake Macquarie, right in the middle of the deluge!. They were fairly unimpressed. Anyhow, it all ended up well for them and they are now enjoying a bit of a holiday.
I look forward to hearing about your adventures tomorrow, but please don't expect a reply until the afternoon as I have 'things to do' all morning.

My goodness you are perceptive - one of the 'things to do' was a Glucose Tolerance Test which involved a diet for three days, fasting for 12 hours and a test, spread over two hours starting at 7.30 am with a drink of glucose solution and a blood sample at the beginning, middle and end. A tiring experience, but by no means the worst of the tests I have had over the years.
I am glad that you are home and hope that your washing and hair have dried.

Bluey for the birthday wishes and visiting my page. My son lives in North Wollongong and we will be driving down on Friday. I thought it would take about five hours also. Going through Sydney will be the time consumer but I can't see any other way to get there. I am looking forward to sightseeing, I especially want to see the new ocean road and the Kiama Blowhole and my son of course!

Hi Bluey. You have a beautiful daughter! Thanks for sharing the photos. I've near Wollongong a few times! But have not actually been into it! I did a few ultrasound locums at a couple of different places but that was in th early '90's & can't remember the names! Haven't been on that great new road. My neighbour over the road was born & bred in Wollongong as was her husband! Both have their families are still there so they often go back for the weekend.

Bluey, Brendan just graduated from high school. He will be going to Drew University in New Jersey at the end of August. He will be studying Economics and playing soccer. My oldest daughter goes to Boston College and just finished her first year. She is majoring in International Studies, with minors in Arabic and Spanish. She wants to be a journalist. Thanks for the Aussie Bubbly, that is certainly a treat!

Thanks for the good wishes. We should have a great time. Just trying to get all the last minute jobs done.
Me sister has a house not far from Nobbys beach. We saw the ship struggling to keep away from the rocks just before it was swept back towards the beach. We left Newcastle about 3/4 hour before the storm hit but had to drive through it on the way home.
Thank you for the cheese. will go well with the wine.

Gday Bluey, I can't believe I could be so rude. I have visited your page before to look through your photos but didn't leave my calling card. How very remiss of me!
I have brought you a bottle of bubbly, a plate of nibblies and an invitation to drop into my page anytime. Take a stroll around the garden, find a seat in the sun and meet my family. Hope to see you there.

Hi Bluey, Thanks for dropping in. I will have to make a point of going into the city one day and we could have a quick lunch together.
Know Port Kembla as hubbies family came from around Mt Keira.
You certainly have a very beautiful daughter.
I enjoy seeing sudokuists photos as it is nice to visualise the person when I read the posts.

Bluey I got your message but it did not appear on my page! I am sorry about not organising for others to see Linda but it took a lot of effort to get her husband to meet someone Linda had "met" on the net. Originally we were going to the Northern Beaches but decided when we picked them up that south would be more spectacular. I did point out to Linda where Port Kembla was and how you travelled to Sydney each day. So even if we did not see you we did talk about you!!
I would have loved to organise for more of the Sydney siders to have met Linda but until a few days before her family were still not too happy about her meeting us.
I will organise a day to catch up with you soon.

G'day Bluey, Thanks so much for your special wishes about my daughter's op this morning. I have heard from her doctor that everything went very well and she is fine. Still in recovery and fast asleep but he said again she will be just fine. I am so relieved it's all over, even though it took her long enough to decide to get it done! I'm sure she'll never regret it.

Dear Bluey, how very kind of you to come to my page with those lovely words of welcome. I must tell you that over the last couple of days, I have been having minor panic attacks just trying to fit everything into the measly 24 hours we are given each day! My second daughter, Beth, turns 18 on Saturday and even though we do NOT do the whole party thing, we have a family gig on Friday night and then she has her final driving lesson Monday, test Tuesday! There's also the fact that she is doing her final year of high school (or should I say, my final year of H*LL). So, in my roundabout way, I'm letting you know that I wont be making it this time, to which I already regret, but there just are not enough days in THIS week.
Please have a blast for me, and if they have it on the menu, could someone order the Choc Mud Cake and think of all of us that can't be with you.

I'm glad to hear that you arrived home safely and I promise not to put any more photos of your place on site without your permission (actually I only took one,, but it seems to keep cropping up)
Take care. Until the next time, cheers, Ian
