Hello Rosemary - I sincerely hope your Dad is over the worst and is back on the road to recovery. It must have been a very stressful time for you and your family. I hope Graeme is recovered and also back to normal health.
Take care
Anne

Hi Rosemary. I had no idea you had so much strife in your life from family medical issues. I know how wearing that can be. Hope all comes smoothly in the future, and it doesn't wear you down too much, although from what I've seen, you are a very strong person. Cheers!

Hi Rosemary,
for your best wishes for James 18th Birthday. Being a wet day he has been given the day off by his boss - carpenters can't work in the wet. He was still asleep when I left for work this morning but I will phone him soon to wish him a Happy Birthday.
We are taking him out for dinner this evening and perhaps a drink or two (he can buy now).

My very best wishes to Graeme for a speedy recovery from his virus.

Have been reading the comments from the last week, sorry your father and husband have been having so many problems. Hope both are on their way to being well. I too cope with an insulin dependent diabetic, know how hard that can be. Take care of your self also.

Thank you for the Birthday Wishes last week. I had dinner with Mom that evening. She then flew up to Portland, OR for a Class Reunion (68th) and flew back for the wedding on Saturday of her only grand-nephew (my cousin’s son – 41, first marriage). Mom (85) refused to take a nap after getting up at 3 am for the flight back and insisted on driving (through Los Angeles to Orange County) for the wedding – she still drives fast. By the time we got to there we were not speaking & the drive back was even worse – getting home around midnight. The wedding & reception was wonderful (so was the beach party the night before, which Mom had missed). Dad always said the reason we fight, was because we are so much alike – both strong willed women. But, we will always love each other. I left Tuesday, had a meeting in No. Calif. Wednesday afternoon, and decided to camp at Burney Falls State Park – making my dog happy, before returning home. The back is still bothering me – but no violent pains – more of the gnawing variety and when standing up after sitting too long (so there were a lot of stops on the way down and on the way home). Thanks for the good wishes – I’m safe if not sound.

Only 4 more concerts this season at the Britt Pavilion. Volunteering there has its rewards - namely getting to see the concerts & if you don't care for the concert, you can leave when your assignment is done. So when in doubt of the act, I chose a job that will allow me to leave early. If it is an act I really want to see, I chose a job that will allow me to see the concert in its entirety. There are assignments that can be anywhere in between - see quite a bit of the concert, but will have to stay to till the end. I generally work about 30 concerts a summer. This was my 10th year volunteering at Britt. A nice place to while away the summer evenings.

Thanks for stopping by with your kind wishes, Rosemary. Mom continues to be a determined little thing and I'm cheering her on every step of the way. So many bumps are ahead on the road--perhaps breaking the news that she might not be able to return to her home just one of them. But one day at a time. I hope your dad is doing well and will continue to improve. Please keep me posted--we can compare notes together. You're the best.

Hi Rosemary! I haven't been on the site much over the past couple weeks. My interest seems to be waning, & also I made an unplanned trip to NC to help my daughter with her three sons while her husband went to be with his family in NY. His 47 year old sister died of a heart attack, leaving her four daughters orphans. The youngest is only 12. So very sad for all of them. I have read just enough comments here & there since I got back to know that your family is dealing with lots of health problems right now. I'm so sorry to hear that. I know it's a tought time for you. I'll keep you all in my thoughts & prayers. Hope things are better soon.
Love & hugs.

Hey Rosemary! Good news for your Dad and the family. How is everything else? Have you managed to drop-kick that virus out of your house? I forgot you were out of town. I'll post the Edison Lighthouse song again within the next few days for you.

Hi Rosemary
Thanks for dropping by the other day. We've been pretty hectic here with the babies and I going to NZ for a long weekend for my uncle's 80th and then I was back for a week and Paul sent me to Camp Eden (on my own) for one of the most incredible week's of my life. I got back yesterday and I am still shell shocked from getting back to civilisation.
Glad to hear that your Dad is doing much better. I'll catch up again soon.

Hi again. It was pretty busy here over the weekend. Had some mad Cats supporters over for the game and a barbeque after. It sounds like you guys had a good weekend. Might catch you another time. Don't worry I don't bite... or at least not very hard. LOL

Just about to shut down for the evening, Rosemary, when I found your message and just had to drop in for a visit. Thank you so much for your thoughtful words of condolence. We were so hopeful after my mother's first stroke and she was doing so well, but the second one on the 25th left her speechless and unable to swallow or use her left side. I was snuggled in bed with her for most of Saturday and Sunday, making sure she was peaceful and not alone. I've put part of my eulogy on my page (but it's been buried amongst other comments now). I like to think I gave mom a fitting tribute and I know she's in a wonderful place now and regaling old friends with stories. It's good to have you back, Rosemary, and good to know you're in my corner during these teary days.

Hey Rosemary,
Thank you dear friend. Had to take a break from the tall stack of test booklets. Found your post, gave me a good laugh! I needed that, I regretfully was feeling very sorry for myself. Now I have a smile on my face and can face the next pile.
