Do you still wake up and pinch yourself about the election? It was such a thrill for the nation to speak so decisively.

We have internet once more- after a 6 month (at least) disconnection. I don't want to be spending too much time here (amount of time here seems ot affect the size of my bo'm) and haven't seen you on when I am but did want to wish you a merry Christmas and drop in the trad bottle of cordial

May you and your family enjoy Christmas with the traditional gifts of love, peace and hope.

I always do lemon cordial for Christmas pressies. Love that home-made feel. I used to have a lemon tree in Victoria but up here we have a lime. I'm actually going to make another couple of batches today and maybe mix some lemon and lime.... so for the second year running here's yours.

LEMON CORDIAL
Ingredients:
Juice of 7 large lemons
Grated rind of 5 large lemons
1 kg sugar
1.5 litres of water
25g citric acid
Method:
1.In a large pan, boil up sugar, water, grated peel and citric acid.
2.Take off the heat and add juice, If preferred, this may be strained.
3.Bottle whilst still hot into clean, sterilised (in oven ) bottles

What a horrific accident over your way yesterday, Rosemary. Christmas isn't a guaranteed happy time, is it? I hope that it will be happy - and safe - for you and yours. It looks as though it will be a lovely, fine day. AFter the crazy time we've had the past few days weather-wise, that will be nice. Right now, the humidity in my house sits at 90! Very muggy and uncomfortable.
