My next door neighbor, a long time cattleman, very set in his ways, bought one of these at the same time I did (we went to a livestock expo together). He quickly decided that it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and couldn't believe that he ever raised calves without it. Not only are they great for catching the calf, but most aggressive cows respect it in your hands.

Please refresh my memory where in Kansas are you? Going from a city girl to a country girl has it's problems. It has been a long time since it happened, but I got to move from Wichita to a farm. Being a teenager at the time I really did not like moving. I found out that am not a farm girl.

Sarah Beth, We moved from Wichata to a farm in south east Kansas, which is between Parsons and Chanute. Galesburg is so little that the high school closed the year after I graduated.

Hello Sarah Beth - I also sent an e'mail but not sure that it's gone through or not.

Oh, Sarah, please forgive me. My only excuse is that I have head issues. My note to self, has your name and what I now remember is your husbands email address. I do recall a thought to ask you about it, but that is as far as it went.

I am so sorry. I do not remember recovery taking this long after child birth. I think, because I did not take pain medication after birth, is why it went so quickly. I tried with my head, but each time I breath it feels like my head is splitting open, so I have used the pain medication. I will be normal soon, I promise.

Sarah Beth - if your family does plan to head to Bryan/College Station to deliver the college student, please let me know your plans and timing. We are bound to work out a meet sooner or later! I can send you my e-mail if you want.

Sara Beth - let me know if she/you need any help. If we are around, I would be glad to help. Also, I would be glad for us to act as a contact or source of information.
We have our local family(kids, grandkids, etc.) over most Sunday evenings for dinner, and we would be glad to add her to the list!

Your quilt is freakin' awesome! It must be quite cozy filled with all the love in every stitch. I wish I could create like that. I think you should have all of us send you a swatch or square or whatever the term is and then you could make a Sudoku quilt that represents all the people you've 'met' here.

I have a few extra copies of some of the Oz books. Tell me what you need and maybe I can send them to you.

Dorthea, I have at least one copy of all of the books. These were the big bound books, probably the second printing or so, illustrated by O'Neill instead of the original guy. Someday, when I get a penny or two ahead, I would love to invest in a few of those. Thank you so much for the offer. That is sweet of you!
