Bet Billy had a good laugh! Silly old biddy - how could she have ridden a bike. Well tell him that this silly old biddy was riding a motorcycle when his mom was probably a young thing in school! Hug him for me and tell him to be careful.

Debby, good to hear Jenny. Wow a month in Mexico, that would be a good way to learn the language. I don't know if I could ever learn, yes I have tried. Nice that Billy could rebuild his motorcycle, what talent he must have.

Hi, Debby! I got your message and am glad you understand! I, too, look forward to meeting you in person some day. By the way, shouldn't you be in Virginia by now? I thought you spent the summers on your farm there.

Love the picture of your house in its "summer attire!" But I still want you to toss that snowball in my direction!

Hi Debby! Thanks for checking in on me...we didn't get even a quiver of movement here. I am probably about 7 - 8 hours northeast of the LA area. Boy, I don't want to be in the Bay Area or the LA area when something big hits. We're up in the mountains on pretty solid granite - but one never really knows with our dear Mother Nature, huh?

Thanks for the pie - I love rhubarb! My neighbour grows it but does't like it himself. I never quite get around to baking a pie with it though...maybe next time!

Hi Debby:
Thanks for your recent compliments about my gallery. I hadn't visited yours - I don't know why. Perhaps you haven't been posting all that much. Anyway glad to be here, and I have brought a gigantic apple and bramble pie with some creamy home-made custard for you and your guests - it should last you at least one week!

Yes, Debby, I was aware that Hudson's disappeared. My sister sent me a video of the implosion, and we both had tears in our eyes! I've only been back to Detroit twice since I left 40 years ago. Some of what I saw was encouraging, but mostly I was dismayed by the deterioration of my beloved hometown. I couldn't believe all of the burned and boarded-up buildings. All things change, I guess, but it's still sad to see.

Hi Debby, Thank You for your message – You are so right about needing a vacation to recover (maybe Florida again lol) It is so cold back here in Oz after the wonderful Florida weather (it took me about 2 days to acclimatise to the humidity there). I loved the Gulf coast of Florida and Sanibel Island was wonderful. The causeway bridge was pretty cool. I recall seeing the sign to Cape Coral. How lucky you are to be able to visit that area as often as you like. We stayed right on the beach at Sanibel and I collected some great shells (not live of course). I will return there again someday.

Hi Debby,

Glad to hear from you. I feel badly that I haven't been more communicative. I think I'm just bordering on depression, or generally being nuts, with my husband and Ian both home all day. I don't get any time to myself to recharge and as a result, I'm not functioning very well. I hope you'll forgive me. What's going on in your neck of the woods? Have you and Rick decided about moving down south? How did his trip go? Is Jenny still away, or has she returned? Updates!! I need updates.

Cheers,
Jenn

Hi Debby, thank you for your kind thoughts about our little dog Jack. Everyone in Sudokuland has been so supportive - it's really lovely. :)
Trying to think what to bring to share - my specialty (yeah, probably everyone's specialty!) is lemon cheese-cake - do try a slice!
(I might sneak one of Lori's brownies on the way past - mmm, chocolate!!) ;)

Debby - glad you enjoyed the cheesecake - I usually only make it at Christmas. :)
I have to ask - beavertails???

I've never seen beavers, btw, but I have seen their nests(burrows? dens?)in a river bank when we were on a trip to Alaska a few years ago. That was an amazing experience (the trip, not the beavers, which I'm still not convinced actually exist!) ;) Many wonderful memories, and beautiful photos - Denali National Park was particularly outstanding, especially seeing (from a safe distance!) a wolf and a bear having a close encounter. The bear had something the wolf really wanted, but skinny Mr Wolf wasn't ready to fight for it, so decided to wait it out and hope for the scraps. Even our guide was amazed by that encounter - it certainly was exciting!
Well enough traipsing down Memory Lane - have a great day! Re-reading what you've had today, may I offer you - Alka-Seltzer! ;)

Hi Debby,
Powder Detergent in water has worked for some very voracious ants here in the tropics. Try it splashing some soapy water prepared with washer detergent in the vecinity of the wood piles by the path they are using. If you see some dead ants then it will work, then you can try it on the pile of wood. As this only works with the adults form of ants it is recomended to repeat it 5 and 10 days later to kill the offsprings that are as eggs now in the interior of one or more of the logs. Hope this will help you with this nuisance.BTW I envy your son dedication to restore the BMW. Congratulations. Let me know if you succed with this teatment.

How nice of you to drop by and say "hello"! I'm just about to sign off until later this evening. Going to get a bite to eat. Hope your day was lovely...I sure do enjoy the pictures from the puzzles. I just discovered the jigsaws (after all this time - duh?) and really think those are fun.
Big hug to you, Debby

Hi, Debby! The cookbook is a "labor of love". I love to cook, and I love to share. So there you have it!!! Now, I think I'll go rustle up something to eat.........And speaking of food, my husband told me about a dream he had last night. He was in a big banquet hall, and the serving table was covered with blueberry desserts: pies, cakes, squares, muffins, etc. (Do you think he's trying to send me a message???) Guess I've got my work cut out for me today!

Hi, Debby!
My son played the bass from 8th to 12th grade in Orchestra, but lately, he's been taking cello lessons (borrowed a cello from a classmate).

Recently, the Worship Pastor at his ex-girlfriend's church has been encouraging him to take up guitar in preparation to leading worship at church in the future...

Have a nice day!

Debby! If you like chocolate, let me send you a Melting Hot Chocolate Souffle like the one my son got for dessert at Roy's the other night ("when it arrives, it will look like a chocolate tower bolstered by scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream and plated with swirls of raspberry coulis. A dusting of sugar may brighten it up...take your spoon and pierce the top...the molten chocolate will ooze out...")
