Lasanga - YUMMMMM! I won't be baking anything like that til it cools down here a bit. We're still too freakin' hot - fall is just around the corner and I love that. I'll be taking my camera out with me so I can post some of the brilliant colors around here. Like to call the trees in fall "God's fireworks"!

Hi Debby. Thanks for the weekend thoughts! We did have great time. All of P's brothers, sisters & spouses were there for the weekend and there was a party with 2 of the nieces & 1 nephew, as well well as a few friends of the birthday couple. It's 5-6 hour drive so we went on Friday, which meant we we're worn out for the party!!

Felt good to read that K was doing better. I am sure it was a great relief for his wife to have their son come to lend a hand.
You are all still in my thoughts and I hope for continued improvements.

It goes without saying that I'm also praying for your friend who was in the accident and hoping that with the loving care of family and friends, he will heal both physically and in spirit--what a terrible tragedy.

Debby, thank you for thinking of me. Luckily Fay never became more than a tropical storm. We had a lot of rain but no damage. I am enjoying my two extra days of summer vacation and am ready for my kids to come back to school tomorrow. They will be nice and hyper after having been cooped up inside for 2 days. I love the outside of your house. It is exactly what I picture a northern house to be. Not what you usually see in South Florida. Stop by for some fresh squeezed Florida orange juice any time.

Debby, thanks again for your thoughts. It is nice to know I have friends all around the world that will keep my family in their thoughts in times of trouble. I am glad your family is ok also. Having sat through Wilma with my kids, it was not an experience I would like to relive.

Thanks for dropping in Debby & for the birthday wishes for Mr K!! We had a quiet evening, but will go out for dinner when I can get both kids together!

Hi Debby! Just thought I'd pop by & say hello here on your page. Hope you're having a good weekend up in MI. We are finally having some rain the past two days, but nothing like the rest of the state suffered. We feel very lucky. Glad your parents came through okay, too. Fay was really a crazy storm!

Debby - how fun! Your trip sounds so spontaneous...I'm glad you guys stayed over - what a treat!
I haven't been on the site much as my niece and nephew have been up visiting. We took them up the hill to a beautiful mountain lake for kayaking yesterday. I'm just about do download some pics onto my page - stop by and visit!

Thanks Debby for the birthday wishes & hospital thoughts for my Dad! He still hasn't been to theatre yet! The Cardiac Surgeon has decided that since Dad is in St Vincent's, where all his other Doctors are, they should all consult him & each other before he has surgery! He normally sees them in Dubbo, but not one of them is there at the same time as any other!!

debby, thanks for the birthday wishes. the people here really made my day. i love your summer home btw. i am quite partial to tudor style homes as you might have been able to gather from my pics.

nope the house is not at all finished. so sad. we are doing everything ourselves. every nail and inch of cement has been accomplished by mostly my best man, a bit from me and even less by the boys. my hubby has been out of town all summer so it has been three months since any progress has been made. hopefully the pace will pick up in a few weeks.

i debb..you are from michigan right? are you familiar of the store named "pearl of the orient"?

So sorry, Debby, to hear you'd spent your weekend attending funerals. How very sad; I hope your spirits are lifted at least a little today. Maybe the sharing of a few stories with relatives helped, or just seeing a few faces from the past again. Tomorrow, it will be a year since my mom died--I still can't believe it. We're having a Mass said, then I'll spend a quiet day organizing photographs into an album. I remember how kind and compassionate our Sudoku family was, and how much everyone helped me with their caring thoughts. I'm always around for you, Debby. Sending you blessings and a warm hug.

Thank you for the food. Always welcome when I am recouperating. You will have to send me your recipe for caramel apples. I bet the key is the apple though, and we don't always get the best apples in the southwest.

Oh yeah, I love hand blown glass. Twenty years ago when I was working it, the tools were all right handed so it was very difficult to turn out nice pieces.
