Debby, At a party tonight I met a woman from your town in North Carolina and she knew all about the music. Did you know Elderhostel offers a 6 day camp at an arts place near there to learn mountain dulcimer? I would love to do that! Who knows? Won $14 on the Kentucky Derby Big Brown tonight! Take care.

I sse your tulips! You've got your Springtime house up on your site, Tulip Lady!
(I counted mine yesterday. We planted a whole bunch last fall, so I wanted to know how many came up. I counted 140+ tulips! You'd love'em!)

Glad things are working out for your Mom for now. Looking forward to catching up with you in Florida one of these days..... Oh. Thanks for the information about Madonna...no , I didn't know shecame from Michigan...did you by any chance know her in the early days?

Hi Debby,
for dropping by and helping to make my birthday special. How could I not have a wonderful day with all my wonderful visitors?
I have been making a marathon of dropping around to all my visitors...get sidetracked when I find they have added new pictures to their pages.... Welcome to spring. Good to compare the +/- snow.
We are approaching the end of the planting period if we want bulbs for our spring. I presume your tulips naturalise in such a cold climate. We have to 'winter' our tulip bulbs in the crisper if we want them to flower. We have to buy fresh bulbs every season in such a warm climate.

Lots of bulbs like bluebells and daffodils that thrive in a temperate climate do well here in Melbourne. Freesia's naturalise in my front garden and I have the best 'smelling' garden in the street. Bye for now.

Hi Debby thanks for the visit. I did a "Madby" & ran out of broadband. It's back now, but I only had the equivalent of extremely slow dial up so was only doing easy things like jigsaws- it took too long to load pages so I could read comments or even check my own page! I'm glad you think Vegemite is OK! I think you really have to grow up with it to really like it!

Hi Debby, and I hope you're well and enjoying the spring weather. As to our kitchen, the lower cabinets are being installed right now, and so far, so good. The counter top guy is coming on Monday afternoon to do the templating so hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the counters to get cut, then the upper cabinets can go on. Our island will be built last, and maybe, just maybe, our appliances will come on Wednesday. There's still a door and window to arrive and be installed, then we'll have trim to paint. This is week 8, and I bet we're not completely done until the beginning of June. A long haul, but it will be worth it. So far the only glitches have been some scratches in the terra cotta floor, which I've been assured will be repaired, and the positioning of the microwave, which looked great in the drawing but I now realize will be somewhat awkward ... there's always something! Still, I look forward to getting back to normal and having things organized, with everything in its new cubbyhole. I shudder to think of all the vacuuming and straightening up I'll have to do, just getting the rest of the house presentable for guests. Whew! How are things at your end? I hope your days are filled with laughter and you're spending time with people you love.

Hi Debby, it's Anew from Utah.. I'm back on the site, if you remember me :), I've gone back to my page and you're the first person who posted after my last post in 2007.
So I just wanted to say hi, and sorry that missed out on all the stuff inbetween, from the looks of all the pages it looks like you've been busy with everyone else :).

Because there are so many people onsite, I likely won't go back any time soon to everyones old pages or the archives, so I'll keep intouch from here on out, if you'd like :)
And maybe one day I'll get the umph to really, truly catch up!

take care,
an old friend

Mrs. Robin seems to be doing well. Has the last one hatched yet? Is she protective when you get near? Did your hubby tell her to nest there because he wasn't looking forward to painting this Spring?

Thanks for the good wishes on Nora Hope's birth. Nora and big brother Payton and mommy and daddy are well. I'm still with my daughter and family in Cincinnati, Ohio, doing gramma duties and becoming quite tired myself! It's a good tired, however! I'm hoping to be able to go home tomorrow (Wednesday 5/14) and then I can play sudoku again!

Hi Debby! Finally found some time to check out your page. Oh, those sweet baby robins! How long do you think they'll be in the nest before they grow up & fly away? Your rhubarb pies sounded yummy. Wish I could sit down with you for pie & coffee. There is a slim chance we may be coming to Mich. in July to visit Rob's brother. I'll keep you posted if plans become definite. How's the painting coming? Hope all is well up there. Enjoy your birds!

Hi, Debby! Regarding your comment on the picture of the live oak "alley", those trees are located on the southern end of St. Simons and were untouched by the tornado. Unfortunately, many other live oaks were destroyed.

Hi Debby! Was glad to hear about your get together with Shiela & Jenny tomorrow. Hope you have as much fun as we did in Venice. I suggested to Shiela that maybe you might have time to give her a quick lesson in using Flickr so she can post some pictures. Will look forward to seeing some of the MI meeting!! By the way, how is your mom doing? Maybe you can call me one day next week after your school show is over. Sounds like the next 4-5 days are going to be VERY busy for you!!! I'll be thinking of you.

Please, Debby, I'm really not comfortable playing this game. I'm new on this site and don't really know people yet . So could you pick someone else for Tag?

Plus, I don't like to even think about my childhood. Too many nightmares.

Oh my gosh!!!! I had about 22 messages in my inbox today just from Sudoku friends wishing me a 'Happy Birthday'! Thank you so much for all of your kind thoughts and wishes especially when I haven't been around for so long. It has been a wonderful day and a lovely weekend. Rick and I went away to a romantic chalet at Springbrook with an open fireplace and we went bushwalking etc. I have uploaded a photo of Kiarah and some others onto 'my page'. Photos taken 26th May 2008. Kiarah is just about 18 months old now and still gorgeous hahaha....

Hi Debby, thanks for you 2 visits. Temperature wise it's about 20*C(68*F)inside & about 17(62) outside. This actually warm for now because there's a lot of cloud cover, but it's been raining almost continually for days & the breeze is quite cold! Sydney is near latitude 31*S which is about where Jacksonville is (31*N). On the west Coast Perth is near 31*South which in America is about where Cabo Colonet is in Mexico. The flower is a kangaroo paw which is an Australian native (in case you couldn't guess that!!!LOL!!!) We've burnt wood since we first bought a house. Paul, my husband collects wood in the summer - when trees are cut down & left on nature strips with signs on (free fire wood) or skips outside renovations with timber in he knocks & asks if he can have some, etc. Just gets the trailer & brings it home. We've never had to buy any & we've never cut trees purely for fire wood. This wood would be dumped & rot sending it's green house gases into the air anyway so by using it I feel I'm at least we're not adding as much coal gas to the atmosphere! As well as saving money! We've had veggie gardens in the past both here & in our previous house. They're great for a few years till the trees we plant grow & shade them too much! The person on the bike is my daughter! The photo was taken 13-14 years ago & I think the bike's a Yamaha & also I think she still has it, she has at least 3 others now! She's more sedate doesn't do wheelies anymore! About that time she was asked to join a female racing team! She thought about it but she's very practical & decided finishing Uni would be a better option!
