Back at Christmas time I posted the news that grandson Chase was going to become a big brother in July.  I am happy to announce that his baby sister Maddox Ann Martin was born at 6:09 P.M. on July 27, 2015.  She weighed 9 pounds and measured 21 1/4 inches long.  We are thrilled to have a third granddaughter (the others are 19 and 16!) and six grandsons and feel very blessed.

Hi Kathy.

I just got home (10pm) from mum's house after celebrating my grandma's 97th birthday with her. Straight away I thought of you, as you share her birthday. Happy Birthday to you Kathy and I hope you get to celebrate as many and as happily as my Ma did today! XXX

I read that your Kyley has been quite ill. Best wishes for her for a strong recovery; and to you for continued strength in this time of trouble.

Wishing you a great birthday. I came to your page to do that yesterday, but got sidetracked by the beautiful sunset and your Youtube. I knew it wasn't really until today anyway. Was it two or three years ago when I called? How time flies.

Thanks, Kathy! it is so good to hear that Kyley is feeling much better. It is dreadful when someone you love is having those issues - there is nothing you can do! Hope you have an amazing Christmas. Will your family be all together? Could be a major operation if they are by the sounds of it.

Hi Kathy, thanks for dropping by with your wishes. We don't leave for the beach until Saturday (after we drop Reggie at the kennel for his 2 week stay).
I'm so glad to hear that Kyley is on the mend.
Best wishes to you, Rob and your family for a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Hi, Kathy. Thanks for your "visit" and the birthday greetings. I'm sorry to hear about Kyley's nasty health scare - and glad to know that she is ok now. It must have been a terribly worrying time for you. No matter how old they are, or how successfully they run their own lives and families, when something goes wrong for your children you just want to cuddle them as you did when they were little and make things better, don't you.
I hope that 2010 will be a happy year for you and all those dear to you. I can't believe it's 10 years since we went though all that "turn of the century" stuff!

Hi, Kathy! Thank you so much for the birthday (and Thanksgiving) wishes! I believe I also missed your birthday, as I missed most of November and the first week of December. (I don't think I have every been AWOL so long before.) At any rate, belated birthday wishes to you! I hope you had a wongerful day!

I would also like to send continued positive thoughts for Kyley and your entire family! Health scares can really take all of your thoughts and energy, but seems things have settled down now. Regardless, I think positive thoughts & prayers can always be put to good use, even if it's just to help you get your life back on track.

BTW, the sunrise photo is AWESOME!

Hi Kathy xx Thanks for popping into my page, I have been very slack with my emails :( Thanks for the comments on my pics .... Actually those ones are from Jan 2009 I haven't had time to post the pics from my Nov 2009 trip yet but will do so before the New Year and let you know when I have posted. We will definitely catch up again on my next visit :)
I am loving having Daniel back in Oz and him staying at home (well to sleep anyway LOL he has many mates who want time with him also).
I am pleased about Kyley's diagnosis but make sure you keep that wound in check, those infections can run rampant if not controlled :(
I hope you and Rob had a great Christmas, you certainly deserve it. Take Care xx

Kathy. This is great to have your message. I, as you, am not very often at Sudoku, but still keep very good memories of the great friends. This is the opportunity to wish you and your family a very nice new year 2010. Keep improving your tennis.

Dear Kathy, Thanks for your post.
When I was an active field professional I used to work for the flower (traditional) industry in Colombia. In my trips to shows and fairs in the USA and Europe I became adict to exotic flowers. Since I retired I have been growing the most exotic among the exotics, heliconias and anthuriums, for my pleasure and for a side income. At the same time I discovered that Cut foliage was another source of joy and money and I am producing bouquets (arrangements of cut leaves and exotic flowers) for export to Canada through an international marketing company of which I am an asociate. My two sons are 25 and almost 23. Mateo, the oldest, is at present working with Jhonson&Jhonson at their plant here in Cali after finishing his University degree in Engineering. Lucas, the younger, is still at the University with a program in management where they go to school for three months and then work for some sponsor company another three months. He has had the same sponsor for five periods at a Candies Factory going through different responsabilities from production to marketing.
And my loving Clemencia is the best cook in the world.

It is a very scary situation. Yes, I have several friends that were affected by the fire - thus now affected by floods & mudslides. It is nature - when the mountains burn - there will be flooding - since the ground cover is lost to the fires. Enough water & erosion creates small mudslides and occasionally massive slides - even months later when the water is retained or new springs develop....

What a nice surprise to get your message, Kathy. I'm in the Sudoku neighbourhood almost daily, but my main interest is the 16x16, which usually takes an hour or more of my time, so I don't hang around after I finish. My conscience usually starts nagging me by then!
We're not wine drinkers, but there are many vineyards and wineries in our area, especially in places where once there were orchards. The Water Wheel vineyard is at Bridgewater-on-Loddon, about 40kms from Bendigo. It takes its name from a flour mill that was once there, I believe.
We are coming to the end of a very long summer - thankfully not as hot as last year when we had many days of 40+ temperatures and those horrific bushfires. I'm not a hot weather person, so I look forward to the balmier days of autumn, which is my favourite season. We haven't made any specific plans yet, but we usually like to go away for a few weeks' caravanning holiday then, when travelling is more comfortable.
Stay well!
