Back at Christmas time I posted the news that grandson Chase was going to become a big brother in July.  I am happy to announce that his baby sister Maddox Ann Martin was born at 6:09 P.M. on July 27, 2015.  She weighed 9 pounds and measured 21 1/4 inches long.  We are thrilled to have a third granddaughter (the others are 19 and 16!) and six grandsons and feel very blessed.

Kathy, Wilson belongs to son #1 and D-i-l(Sean and Ashley). I don't have a picture of them on my site yet. He is now 3, and is a darker version of my Brutus. They are brothers, but not littermates. Brutus and Sierra are littermates, and they will be 5 in June. My sister has the parents. She just had her 6th litter. Good dogs, but you have to be willing to deal with a big dog and hair. Family is good. Ashley's ultrasound will be on Monday.
We had Princess when we got the puppies. She was a Golden mix. She was the BEST dog. She was 16 1/2 when we had to put her down. I still miss her. You will find Munchkin's successor when the time is right.

Wanted to wish you and Rob a very goood trip to Michu Pichu. I have always been fascinated by the legends of that place. Note the new poster, Terry, a 30 minute boat ride from here! Also Chalkboard is from Ft Myers and they had a social. Some events could be planned! Bon Voyage.

Hi Kathy, Just got your note. March 7. My hip is doing great. I only walked with the cane for a short time. I played 9 holes once and felt good about 3 weeks ago, then I pulled some tendons in my left hand and haven't been able to play again or ride my motorcycle. It is almost healed so not to long. Great picture of you and the gang at the SA meeting. Those treats look so good.....

3/11 Oh Kathy, I loved the story of baby smiles on hearing angels!!!! Will repeat it to my daughter-in-law. As soon as my son ( the one with computer savvy) comes home from racing to Cabo San Lucas I'm going to try to get him to help me with the Flickr pictures and these cute avatar pics. I just gotta to get one of those!

http://www.oattravel.com/gcc/general/default.aspx?oid=143604 is the website for the particular itinerary we will be taking with Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT). This is the first time we have traveled with that company, but we have heard good things about them. They limit their tour groups to small numbers, only 15 people in ours. Only 5 of us are taking the 5 day pre-trip to Machu Picchu, then we will join the rest of the group for the 11 day Amazon Jungle & Galapagos Islands tour. Packing was a real challenge since they want us to limit ourselves to only small duffel bags on some portions of the trip!! We'll also have greatly varying temperatures between the high altitudes in the mountains & the jungle near the equator (Quito, Ecuador). Anyway, I hope we survive & come back safely on March 31. I'll try to post something if we ever happen to find internet access anywhere along the way! Hasta luego.....

Dear Kathy,
I sent you an email , I left you a message on Sudoku easy , but I want to wish you again a very nice trip. The coca helped me a lot ( I just drank the tea, couldnt chew the leaves ). I hope you will have no problems with the malaria pills - I had to stop taking them because of severe stomach ache. Only drink mineral water - gosh, I sound like a mother sending her daughter to the first day of school Take some cream that protects you from mosquito bite .When you walk in the jungle take as much water with you as you can - it's very humid there ! I look forward to seeing you back from this trip. Take care and enjoy every minute of the journey. Love

Hi Kathy - It is so good to hear from you. My Amaryllis now has 8 blossoms on it! We have it in a window on the south side of our house and I think it likes the sunshine.

My mom isn't doing any better. I have tried to talk her and my dad into coming up to Michigan. I don't know why those doctors down there don't try to help her more. She had surgery on a disc in her upper back last summer and that is what is giving her the most trouble now. She is sorry she ever had the surgery, because she says it feels worse now than it did before the surgery. I feel so helpless because I am so far away. My youngest daughter is graduating in June and I wanted to be here with her during her last year of high school. My mom cried when I came home in January and she has never cried before when I have left. She is not terminal, but she has no quality of life. She lays on the couch every day because she doesn't feel well. My mom has always been a wonderful cook and kept a very clean house so this is such a 'turn-around' for her.

Where is Galapagos? It sound like a very interesting trip.

Your picture in Punta Gorda looks like you all had a great time. I wish so much I could have been there. Punta Gorda is about 10 miles north of my mom and dad. They live off of Veterans Parkway. Burnt Store Road turns into Veterans Parkway at Pine Island Road. Please check out my Flickr site when you have time. I have a few pictures that were taken on Sanibel Island a year ago Christmas.

It is great to have you back!

Hi Kathy, Glad you and Rob are home again. I hope you had a great holiday - I'm looking forward to seeing your photos.
I still have my doll Rosemary. She has an updated look now - longer hair, new make up etc. She is actually older than me.
Reggie finally finished his puppy pre-school while Kev and I were away. He only just passed though - he didn't want to do anything on his last night. He only passed because he finally shook hands. He is getting bigger but still likes to sit on my lap first thing in the morning and last thing before bed.
We put up a baby gate to stop him going upstairs but he walked between the slats. Kev covered it in mesh but he just used that to lever himself up and over. It only stops him walking straight upstairs - but at least we hear him scrabbling up and over. He is a monster but we love him.

Kathy, I can't thank you enough! Your encouragements were what got me over the last hurdle. As I said I'm a computer idiot and need a lot of help. My older son tries to help me as much as he can but he's in Pasadena, an hour away. Brandon's family lives in Camp Pendleton, an hour and half away. So my husband and I muddle along as best as we can.

Kathy,

Thanks for dropping by! Gus was my Christmas present from my family. I got the idea about three years ago, and it finally happened. He is about six-feet tall and weighs 4000 pounds.
The boy is our nephew - Jeanie's brother's son.
Jeanie asked me last night if she could plan a week-long Alaskan cruise for us in June! Several couples from church are going, including my parents, and she decided we needed to go. Needless to say, I gave permission!

Hi, Kathy, looks like you had a great trip to Machu Piccu... did you speak my father's name while there? I just looked at your flickr photos and the pics of Eden at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium made me smile a LOT. The photo you took of the lion with the spear through the heart in Switzerland looks like a family heirloom brought from Austria in the late 1800s, a small wooden statue. All it says on it is the simple inscription MDCCLXXXIX which we read as 1789, the year of the French Revolution. You have made me curious to find if it has real value!

In regard to my Easter Eggs. The Eggs are all hardboiled and dyed using Food Colouring. Red is the traditional color, however sometimes they are coloured in various bright colours just for fun. We also decorate them using stickers or before dying you can use leaves or anything that will create a nice pattern. Its a long process but a fun one. The Eggs are eaten on Easter Sunday. We have fun cracking them against others to see who has the strongest Egg, and if you do it is supposed to mean you will have luck for the rest of the year.

I wish you and your wonderful Family a very Happy Easter filled with love and warmth.

Hey Kathy
Firstly let me start with, no my daughter isn't moving out of home, her class was having a debate/discussion on what was considered the right time for children to leave home. I asked the question on site, and a few got it mixed up, and thought my daughter was moving out LOL.
And I will do everything within my power to keep them home as long as possible.
Re: my fasting, I posted on yesterdays page in regards to Orthodox Easter. You should find the comments on the last page.
Sewing: well my youngest is still doing ballet competitions and I only have 2 weeks left to finish of her National costume and a New Tutu which is yet to be started. It just never seems to end, by the time I finish these she will be requiring costumes for her school Concert!
And of course its now 1.20am and time for me to put the needles away and get some much needed sleep.
Have a great day

Hi Kathy, welcome back. Sounds like you and Rob had a great holiday. No, I don't have any frangipani growing but the perfume always reminds me of my Nana. She had a tree in her back yard in Sydney when I was a child, my sister and I spent many hours making necklaces from the flowers. Unfortunately she was the only grandparent I knew and she passed away when I was 15. BTW I love the photos on your Flickr site especially the European ones from your last trip (brought back many happy memories for me) and am waiting eagerly for the new ones! Bye
