Lovely vacation home. Wow, I'm listed again today as the birthday boy. Too many people have left me birthday messages for me to mention individually, but it makes me feel so good to get all the greetings. I can't say enough what a wonderful site this is, and you all have made this birthday very special. Now, off for the dreaded weigh in.

A married couple is having problems so they go to counseling. They sit down with the specialist and the wife points out the numerous problems with their marriage. After about 10 minutes, the specialist gets up, walks over to the wife and kisses her passionately. Then he tells the husband “now sir, if this happens 3 times a week your wife will feel much better about herself and your relationship.”
The man says; “well I can drop her off here on Mondays and Wednesdays but I go out drinking on Fridays.”

Bon voyage, WAGDY! You certainly have had a wonderful time in Southern California! You have visited so many places and immersed yourself in the culture and offerings of our area. We would ALL like to do the same thing in Cairo ... so you'd better put an addition on the Egyptian Guest House! Thanks for being such an important part of our international Sudoku community.

Bon Voyage, Wagdy.

I arrived home from Australia Thursday (Friday, Aussie time...). We had a perfect holiday. We met June and her husband in Sydney, and June brought me beautiful camellias from her yard and a sudoku book that I used on every flight (we had 10 in total). She is so thoughtful.

June and Ken took us to the site of the Sydney Olympics (I see she has posted pictures) and down the coast to Wollongong. So very beautiful...

Hopefully within the next couple of weeks I'll get some pictures posted.

A EWE’S BURDEN
An ancient shepherd once did keep -
a mangy and decrepit sheep.
As she walked, she groaned and creaked,
trailing dribbles she had leaked.
She heaved, as if, upon her back,
she bore some burden - like a sack.
We thought that soon would come the day -
the failing ewe would pass away.
But long she lingered - on and on.
’til, at the age of ninety one -
she took her final, rasping breath -
and crossed the sad threshold of death.
By then the shepherd was no more;
sunk six feet down, six years before.
The ewe deserves to rest in peace,
for she left us, in her will, her fleece.
That fleece is why she had been kept -
locked secure while guardians slept.
For under hair-spray, grey and cold,
her wool was formed from solid gold.
Perhaps this tale is make-believe;
to lighten hearts, and souls relieve;
but o’er seven seas by Argonaut,
Jason sailed and sought, then brought -
a golden fleece back home - with care -
for knitting royal underwear.

Rayray, PLS, you earned your title today. I giggled at this poem. Royal underwear indeed, from solid gold? that would be a royal pain in the . . . backside. Maybe that explaines the pained look on the face of the royals??

I am sorry for my ignorance, but is this a flood plain or where the tide comes in or.....? Why is there a need for the stilts? Are they built out of a wood that doesn't rot easy?

to Keith and Harley. I hope you both have a great day.

Keith - Don't worry about those scales too much. I hope you had a great vacation. Remember, Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Oh Wagdy, that sounds like fun! I hope you have a great time. I love that Mexican Food!

I still have hummers coming to my feeders. The other morning I wanted to put a coat on them!

Does anyone play a resonator guitar? If you do, do you keep heavier strings on it?
