Heidi, enjoy the new finches.
Suzy, that is good news for Ebob. I don't even want to think about Mitchell driving yet.
Hope all is going well for the rest of my friends. Got to leave school early today. Our principal gave us "homework" We are supposed to spend at least 45 minutes today working on stress reduction. I decided to excercise. I did arm curls holding a weighted glass

Good morning all.
Theresa - great news! You must be so relieved.
Brenda - thanks for telling us about your brother's kids. It's nice to know that when kids grow up they can often see the truth that was hidden for so long.
Happened to my hubby's bro. His ex took their 3 boys and made it so difficult for their father to see them that he didn't for 10 years. As each boy grew up & learnt to drive they found their way to their Dad and now seldom see their stupid mother. Karma! I love it!

Heidi, is Doc in nursing home because he has no caregiver at home? I know Al was unable to care for himself for a few weeks after his surgery.
Julie, that is what Al said too, I must have needed the sleep. While this is not the worse pain I haveever had, it does seem to wear me out some days.
OH. before I forget, got great news from my friend Sue. She was transferred to a rehab facility, and they had her standing (using her one prosthesis, I assume) report is she was all smiles! I know she was delighted to be upright again.
ROLANDA, good to see you, how is your Mom doing? hoe are you? been missing you here. Hope all your mom's appointments slow down soon.
Theresa, also hope your grandie's epilepsy resolves itself.
CynB, there was once such a stigma for anyone having epilepsy, perhaps that and pld fears played a part in Emily's mother's actions. I am not excusing her, just trying to understand how any Mom can treat a child thus.
well, I shall have to read and not comment. my good thumb is acting up tonight, and typing is not fun. I shall be back soon. hugs top all.

MizT... Doc is in a rehab center/ nursing home. He really doesn't need a caregiver, since he's in good health except for this heart problem. He is selling his condo and moving to an assisted living place, for the company mostly.

Hi, Everybody! I see Tami and MizTricia have visited while I was gone.
Heidi, thanks for the information on the canaries! If they are a mated pair, have they had any offspring? They are both very good looking. I'm curious what their offspring might look like. By now, you may know if you won the auction.
Suzy, is Ally interested in playing baseball, or just interested enough to watch a game or two? I hope you have had your coffee with your friend by now! That's great that Ebob can have 2 free years of membership with NRMA! It would be very reassuring to know that she could call and get towing, even if she's not in one of your cars!
I'm glad I kept reading. I see that Heidi is now the proud mama of two more canaries! Congratulations!
June (gasp), not the hot slidy thing! Well, I suppose it's better on a cool and rainy day than one of the hot humid days we've been experiencing here. (But not much better.)
Tami, excellent choice for stress-reducing exercises! (It sounds like you have a pretty cool principal!)
Oh no, MizT, your good thumb is hurting? Please give yourself a day of rest tomorrow! Just pop in and let us know all is OK. We'll read between the lines and know what you want to say. No cutting or chopping in the K room either! Excellent news about your friend Sue! Sounds like she has great spirit!
Heidi, I hope Doc will enjoy the company when he moves to assisted living! It can get pretty lonely when living alone. (Gosh, was that ever profound!) Positive vibes for some excellent rehab in the meantime!
Cyn, I bet by now you have found the perfect gift for your sister! Have fun when you get together tonight! (Is this the sister who just returned home the other evening/very early morning?
Hubby wants me to check out something on TV, so I need to go. Sleep well, everyone! Enjoy your day/evening/night!

Julie... I've been doing some research. The offspring of these two will be a new breed of canary called a Stafford. The seller told me that the female had babies last year, while the male has not been bred yet.

good night friends, hope to check in tomorrow. I have to help Al cook our offering for a pot luck picnic on Sunday. We were invited to eat with a group of older citizens (yup, older than us,)who care for an old cometary in the area. Hubby has explored it before, when he did some work nearby. said he found headstones with 1860's dates, up to the present. Big rains may interrupt, but rainy day location is inside a nearby church. Hope the rain holds off.
did catch up reading, thought about each of you fondly.
Later, hugs to all.

My husband just set up a FB page for Jewel! Honestly, I go out shopping and he gets bored in this cold, wet weather! I told him I have 3 children not 2!!

Hi everyone.
I do not get here often enough but I manage to keep up with the posts.
Julie you do a great job keeping us all up to date.
Have been busy lately with Avon as usual.
Last order I put through last Wednesday night was for $1,116 so I will be a busy Vivacious next Tuesday afternoon packing it all up.
I have been helping out a gf lately too.
A long story but it resulted in her getting charged with assault and one of the bail conditions is she cannot go near her childrens primary school.
Someone goes with her in the morning and makes sure the kids get to school etc.
I go some afternoons with her.
It is out the other side of Wauchope at a little place called Beechwood.
I leave my car at her place here in Port and she drives me across etc.

Well, Gail, I now know how you feel. My car had an 'ouchy' tonight! We were on our way to meet my sis and BIL at the restaurant for her birthday - we drove out of our estate and turned right onto the main road throught a green light. A kid (17) who had wanted to turn left but had missed the turn was too busy looking for it and not at the road, ran the red light and straight into our rear door, driver's side. If Col, who was driving, hadn't realised what was happening and floored it he would have hit the driver's door, instead of clipping it before he hit the back. We were all shaken, we two and the 3 kids in the other car. Because he was a new driver, in his mother's car and admitted fault to us and in front of a witness, the excess for him is $3000 - oh dear! We drove our car the few hundred metres back home but won't use it again until the assessor has seen it in case there is more damage.
Rang my sister, they picked us up and we did have a nice dinner but are still shaky.

Viv... You have my respect. Again. Helping out a friend under those conditions is very trying and stressful, but it gives you a good feeling knowing that you're doing the right thing. Several years ago, a friend was arrested for a crime that her daughter and (now ex) husband committed. They had both lied and claimed that she did it. The details are too complicated to explain here. She and her husband and her 17 yr old daughter (the guilty party) were thrown in jail, and her 16 year old son went into foster care. The bail was set so high for each of them that it was impossible for them to pay it. Her married son came to me and, in tears, asked for help. I paid her bail, and the judge, a friend of mine, released her into my custody, knowing that I would not allow her to flee (which I knew she wouldn't). The judge also made me an honorary social worker, and I was able to supervise visits with her kids, and later get her son transfered out of foster care into my custody. They lived with us for nearly a year while everything was battled out in court. I also helped her get a good attorney, and she won her case and was cleared of all charges.

Here I is, Heidi. Busy morning, after sleeping in this morning. could not get to sleep till the wee hours. Every time I drifted off, thunder woke me. but I got my 8, just most of them were not during dark hours. One of my dishes for potluck picnic is ready, 3 bean salad, marinating. The dressing sure smells good.
anyone else have special plans for this weekend?

IH's cousins are coming in tomorrow for a week. They live in Cincinnati, but recently bought a breathtaking farm 8 miles from us, and just built a house on it. They're both hoping to retire soon and move down here permanently, but as of now, they come down infrequently. It will be a delight to visit with them. They are both actively involved with, primarily, cat rescue, but do some dog work too.

I just believe in helping others if possible, and treating people the way I'd like to be treated. I had some family friends bend over backwards to help me out once, (They literally saved my life) when I was a teenager, and I've tried to pass it forward whenever I can.
