Yes, you're exactly right CynB. There were no more urgent cases put ahead of him. I feel mostly for MIL who's found these past 8 months waiting very very hard. He's still in surgery.

Gail, my heart goes out to you. Your Mum's condition was the same as my Mum's 10 years ago. I know it is hard to understand but, having been there, I feel what has happened is really a blessing.

Susanh, hope your FIL will be OK. I fully understand how waiting, even with private insurance, can be.
Heidi, hope the teeth will soon be fixed and just think they will be better than new!

Gail and I raised a few glasses to her mothers memory today...
We shed a few tears, had a few laughs and went through the 'box' of photos....Opened yet another bottle of fizz...You can picture us...
We talked about you all and how lucky we are to be part of this extended family [which nobody other than each and every one of us can understand..] The cyber hugs from around the globe are hitting the mark.... supporting our Gail..
Molly cared for her youngest daughter to the end...she had the grace to avoid Gail having to share her wedding anniversary with that of her mothers death...

Well thanks very much Bean!
There I was, thinking how well I am holding on, and you go and say that...now you got me going again!
May I say, dear friends, I really mean what I say, to know my mother is no longer suffering is helping enormously.
The happiness I feel from reading the messages of love truly are very sustaining.
May you all have something wongerful happen for you very soon...it has already happened for me.
xoxo

Gail, I'm not even going to try and compare my day with yours. I know exactly what you mean though - torn between wanting the suffering to end, and not wanting to lose a loved one.
On a lighter note, hopefully you're fully fizzed - enough to give you a good night's sleep anyway.

Susan, heading there now my dear! If I were to toast Mum any more tonight, I fear their will be a world bubbly shortage!
Hubby is watching something on the idiot box, and I am here collecting my thoughts and reading well wishes from all over the cyber world.
I have now been able to tell all my children the news about their Nana, but I think I had prepared them as much as possible.
I really don't think Mum knew the effect she had on everyone, the kids and I have been on the net all evening arranging flights etc as they all want to be there.
May not get on to the site much over the next few days, but will look in whenever I can.
Behave yourselves...and cherish every moment with your loved ones.

Happy Anniversary today, Gail and Scott!
I think my most memorable anniversaries are not the ones with fancy gifts or celebrations, but the ones where I am so aware of my gratitude for my loving and supportive husband. I'm so glad you have a husband like Scott to hold you during this emotional time.
Blessings to you both

BEAN, I know just what you mean about Gails Mom caring for her to the end. My Mom somehow managed to hang on one more day so her death would not be on my birthday! Mom's are special like that I believe.

still freezing cold here, and the snow continues to fall. the snow plowers are going to bleed the great salt lake of all of its salt if this keeps up! i am supposed to go do an electrical walk through for "the house", (our house in progress). as there is no electrical as of yet, there is also no heat! it will take about an hour. i am not looking forward to an hour of me freezing my bahooda off while being overwhelmed and confused by electrical terms and decisions!

hope that dentist is fixing you up some real pretty teeth heidi! it is strange how into teeth americans are. EVERY teenager i know has braces. when we were in italy we could easily spot other americans by their teeth and khaki pants. while watching the olympics it was the teeth distinguished the americans. my family in italy wanted to know how i got all my families teeth so white. i have no idea how! i think the #1 ingredient to white teeth is to be american. however, the english, canadians and aussies seem to be jumping on the dental band wagon as well.

Good morning everyone.
Haven't been here for a few days so was catching up reading when I got a shock about Gails Mum.It is hard to express feelings in words sometimes isn't it.
The kids next door came running over yesterday morning screaming that Mum was on the ground bleeding. She had been sawing a gum tree branch which fell on her.She was in shock.Anyway to cut a long story short, she has 3 stitches behind her ear and lots of bruises and grazes.Very luck really as the branch was 6 inches wide and about 20ft long. She came over to tell hubby to tell me (I had to go to work)that she is ok.

June, I see your light is on and since I was recently reading some comments in my gallery, I saw a question that you had asked that I don't think I responded to about the wine labels on the wine Linda brought to the SF meet....Yes, she designed the labels herself...she has many of her designs on her flickr page... not only does she make great wine, but her labels are very clever and fun to see. You can enjoy them by visiting her page I think they are still there.
