Hi Kathy! Welcome back! I'm so glad to hear you had a good trip. Now you have all the catching up to do on things at home. I know the feeling well! Can't wait to see your photos, hear how you fared combating altitude sickness, & find out how OAT treated you. All in good time.... If you want, maybe sometime we could have a phone chat so we wouldn't have to type so much! I have free long distance & would be glad to call sometime after you're rested & back to normal again. It would be fun to compare notes on our experiences.

Hi Kathy! Thanks for the travel wishes! I am getting very excited. We leave this evening (Wed). It's the first trip we've taken since our cat was diagnosed with diabetes two years ago and I am more than ready!
Maybe I'll even be able to go on my "All-time Dream Trip" sometime!... Machu Picchu! Your photos make me drool! Gorgeous phots of what looked like a beautiful day!

Kathy, thank you for the birthday wishes and I loved visiting your place, especially the photos of Egypt. When I worked for Hitachi Data Systems, we had training classes in Maryland, and my stepdaughter graduated from the University of Maryland, so I have nothing but good memories of your state. And I loved the crabcakes there; it spoiled me for any I tasted elsewhere. I hope your day is going as well as mine!

Thanks Kathy for your kind thoughts re my son in the Solomons. He has already done two stints there before and things are not as bad as they were, so hoping all will be well.

My apologies for not having said 'thank you' earlier. I am always touched by the kindness of our sudoku family.

Kathy - thanks so much for your kind words. I tried to throw my brother a lifeline by giving him access to survivors of his type of cancer but, unfortunately, he has elected to not seek treatment. All I can do now is try to provide what comfort and support I can to his family. Life is not always fair, but it's all we've got! I really appreciate all the thoughtful wishes from my friends in Sudokuland. You guys are great!

I saw your comment about going to Ocean City and I smiled. In the '90s my wife and I lived in Ellicott City and liked to 'go downy ocean' severasl times each year. We tried to stay on the Boardwalk, and eat at 34th street crab house. Linda passed away in 2004, and one of my fondest memories with her is of bar-hopping from about 2nd street on the boardwalk all the way back to 18th street (or so) boy we were wooooooo hoooooo buzzed

I agree it is rather quite on easy...there seems to be a lot more chatter on SA since the big brouhaha a few weeks back. We indulge our love of 'dribble', as it was called, to the extreme. Latest topic is 'boxes'....Tricia innocently asked me what I keep in all my boxes....and I answered in my somewhat verbose pattern determined to bore everyone to death!!!! [hasn't worked yet...everyone is coming out of the closet and telling me about their boxes!!]

If ever you get bored or it is too quiet on easy you know where we are. Ciao

Kathy, don't underestimate what you did, sometimes it is the little things that give us the greatest solace.

Hi Kathy .... I'm not sure if you were joking when you asked about the Fat Controller, but in case you weren't - he is a character in the "Thomas the Tank Engine" series (and not some kind of strange, but useful, appliance!) The Fat Controller is in charge of all the trains - it's been a while since I read the books to my kids, but there was a lovely TV show with Ringo Starr narrating. Considering some of the kids' shows around at the moment it was nice finding something guaranteed to be "safe"!
