Well, Phantom, a well deserved break is in order. Enjoy the time off.

I do enjoy your posts. I think there is no way I could keep up that schedule.

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

OUCH! Your router fighting finger looks mighty tender. Hurt digits are the worst! Glad to see it healing.

I'm not sure your time off will be enjoyable, but, I hope it is productive.

Rest assured your summaries and wit will be missed.

Looking forward to your return!

Cheers

My son is impressed that you have the display picture for the 'Phantom Stranger' from DC Comics. I won't let him know if it is purely an accident. Cheers and welcome back from your break.

Thanks for asking about Jaime, Phantom. He is feeling pretty good and has mostly good days. And with the wonderful spring weather we're enjoying, we're spending lots of time at the beach. Wish I could spend more time here in Sudokuland, but there are so many things Jaime and I are trying to fit in to a relatively short period of time. I am thankful for your delightful summaries so I can (more or less) keep up to date! Cheers! Jane

Hey Phantom (or whatever name you're using today). I just wanted to stop in and thank you for the birthday wishes you sent my way. Yours and everyone else's from the site made my day extra special. Cheers, and stay smiling! Just to let you know that everyone will get (almost) the same message as it easier to copy and paste with the finger problems I have. Take care!

Ah Phanty, before you decry of other people's bad manners, it might be a good idea to do the very thing you accuse them of not doing! A salutation before jumping in with both feet into the conversation would be good.

Of course I didn't take offense but as long as we were going to be prim and proper, I thought I'd play the part as well.
I don't get to read your summaries often as now I don't have time to go on site as much I'd like. But I enjoy a tongue in cheek synopsis of the day.

Of course, dear boy! But I do play the old school marm now and again. Must do it now as I will be retiring after one more year. Then it's watch out world, here I come - to see all the places I had only read about.

Just checking in to see if you liked the pie. Does rhubarb grow down your way? Ours always bolts when it gets too hot, so it makes me think either that there is no rhubarb season in Oz or that it flourishes all winter long.

Now Phantom you should know that the difference between a cook and a chef is that a cook has to do their own dishes and that makes me a Chef.

My condolences to you and your wife on the loss of your mother-in-law. Despite the fashion for m-i-l jokes, some of them are absolute gems. It sounds as though yours was one of them and I'm sure she'll be greatly missed by those who loved her.

I'm sorry you feel unappreciated. Part of my Sudoku habits most days is to check the last page of the preceding day to read your summary and then go back and find posts I want to read because of your comments. I'm sorry I haven't conveyed my thanks enough. Still, it's an enormous undertaking and I don't know how we could thank you nearly enough for all the work you put into them. Hopefully the Phantom may appear from time to time, even if in the periphery, as Phantoms should. Your 1 year summary was great. Take care. Make sure we can still see you and appreciate you in your other guise.

Phantom, Your observations are most generally spot on. In this case, however, you may be off course a degree or two. While the accolades don't generally match the effort, I imagine, the summaries require, I for one think your surmise may be in error.

On a daily basis, when entering the site, I nearly always went to "yesterday" to see what The Phantom had to say. Your comments have provided me with some of the most entertaining reading of all.

A year is / was a long time for your "project". If in fact the summary is to be a thing of the past, let me just say I HAVE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THEM!!!!!!!!!

PHANTY you know I love your AWESOME summaries and yes I know how much work they take to do. I even wait up after I have posted the groaners for the summary.

Be safe friend.

Please don't leave us as you are essential to our little family. We love your contribution but I know it is a heavy burden to bear. Please remain with us even if you feel the summary is too much, maybe you could do it on occasions that you felt were extra special.

Hey Phantom...
Been missing a lot of our Sudoku-family news with caring for my dad. I understand you are no longer going to do your summaries. I will miss them - like others, the first part of my day was to go to the last page and read your clever notes...it was a lot of work, I'm sure.
I just wanted to thank you for all the fun and joy you brought us with your summaries. You had a very long run and I feel so grateful to you for the time and effort you put in for all of our enjoyment.
Bless you and your family - belated condolences to you all at the loss of your wife's mum.
...you're the best, Phantom!!!

Phantom, I am missing your summaries and so are a lot of other Sudokuists.
I have only just returned to the site myself and was disappointed to see you are not doing them.
May I ask what brought this on?
