I enjoyed the Garfield cartons, Greg. I'd better not let Willow see it or he might go getting ideas!

Hi, thanks for stopping by, always nice to 'see' you. I watched your Youtube earlier today, Garfield was my favourite comic when I was younger. I've been having a good summer. Been to the beach a few times. I'll have to take my camera and put a pic up of it. It's a different beach than the one I had on my page. I had a friend come for a visit. Which reminds me, when are you invading with your RV convoy? The head I found on the beach is up on my mantle, it was too cute not to bring home. I hope you and yours are all well. And remember, you all come back now, you hear.

Hi Greg, for visiting my page on Aug.6 - I just found your message. Guess the e-mail notification failed that day. All is well here. Every summer I wish I was a teacher so I could spend all of the sunny days enjoying the great outdoors. Every Sept. I'm glad I chose a different career. I'll be heading in your direction for the Labour Day weekend - diving in Kingston. I'm camping that weekend - keeping my fingers crossed that the dry weather returns for those 3 days.
Hope you are enjoying your summer, and that everything is going well for you. Take care.

Thanks Greg for the comment's about Keno, yes she was a great dog and will be missed greatly, her favorite spot to sleep was in the bathroom where there is ceramic tile and kept her cool when she laid down. still looking for her every time I wake up in the night, just so I don't step on her.

Well thank's for the comments and will talk later.

P.S. The trip to Honduras was great, just after 9-11-2001, we wondered if we would be allowed to go there after that great tragedy.

Thank you for the Birthday Wishes last week. I had dinner with Mom that evening. She then flew up to Portland, OR for a Class Reunion (68th) and flew back for the wedding on Saturday of her only grand-nephew (my cousin’s son – 41, first marriage). Mom (85) refused to take a nap after getting up at 3 am for the flight back and insisted on driving (through Los Angeles to Orange County) for the wedding – she still drives fast. By the time we got to there we were not speaking & the drive back was even worse – getting home around midnight. The wedding & reception was wonderful (so was the beach party the night before, which Mom had missed). Dad always said the reason we fight, was because we are so much alike – both strong willed women. But, we will always love each other. I left Tuesday, had a meeting in No. Calif. Wednesday afternoon, and decided to camp at Burney Falls State Park – making my dog happy, before returning home. The back is still bothering me – but no violent pains – more of the gnawing variety and when standing up after sitting too long (so there were a lot of stops on the way down and on the way home). Thanks for the good wishes – I’m safe if not sound.

Hi,
I have never driven between San Antonio and Sacramento before, but my mom drove out here once. After awhile she got very tired and a bit bored with the views of cattle ranches, it takes about 2 1/2 days of constant driving.

I use to have a pen pal who lived in Ottawa for awhile. I visited her once when she still lived with her parents in Oakville. Unfortunately she disappeared. I did an Internet search and found a possible address for her and sent a letter but never got a response of any kind.

G'day Greg. Thanks so much for going to the trouble of sending me a personal message. The things you said make a lot of sense and are the obvious road to getting my life back together. But...it's not easy. The last month has been the worst time actually, and I think it must be because of this day looming. So hopefully in a week or so I'll start to feel better again.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for stopping by this weekend. I do enjoy the theater. Sadly I don't get there as often as I would like, bout once a year. Thank goodness for CD's. My Parrot can sing a few lines from Phantom of the Opera. The Cats were in reference to two little kitties on the easy page about 3 weeks ago.

Speaking of snow.... 90 days from a very foggy day brings in a major snowstorm. Using that theory, our first big storm will hit some time around Halloween. The next big one will be near Thanksgiving, and that one might be a dandy as it was very foggy for 3 days in a row!!

No mess Greg - so no need to apologise, the debate has been civil enough and it is something the site needs - just a good old honest discussion without resorting to name-calling. Everyone has an opinion and no one will agree unanimously on any one issue...long may it continue...take care x

GREG, Yes, I was lucky to be driven to school those days. the next year, my brother and sister started school, there were 3 of us in school by then.

My easy life ended when I went to high school! High schhool children went to one huge central school, not a neighborhood one, and we had to catch public transportation. Bus lines was a long walk from my house, and I walked it summer and winter, as a freshman, sophmore and junior. We got "tokens" for the bus at school, $1.00 a week. We were CITY schools, only County (rural) had school busses. At age 16, start of my senior year, I received a car that I had earned with good grades in high school, my Dad bribed all of us hehehe. the oldest car we owned became mine, and Mom got a newer one heheh. I drove to school and took my younger brother and sister they never had to walk! It was the custom for the seniors who drove to offer rides in thier auto to others who did not have cars, and my regular riders paid me the same $1.00 a week. since my STUDEBAKER only took 4 gallons gasoline a week, at 25 cents a gallon, and i was collecting $5 a week ( I conned Mom to giving me what it would cost for all 3 of us to ride the bus) I had a bit of pocket money left over.

OK, I am running off at the mouth, but yes, it has been fun remembering.

Canuk Greg for stopping by. I hope the beavertail refers to the shape - I try not to eat anything that had fur. But I love chocolate!!! I have been doing the puzzles for a while and have joined the posts a few times recently. Not that I need anything else to do every day! Usually I'm on at night (here) when I'm playing with the bunnies. Sometimes I'm on during the day when kids are in school - when I should be cleaning, running errands, etc!

Hi Greg - Thanks for thinking of me I am still in here lurking. I try to call in at least once a day, normally just before bed and I read a few pages of posts. Things are quite busy here what with trying to get a little business going for me and now we are going to be moving house in November! Sounds a long way off but I took a look at the calendar and it is actually only 9 weeks away. I am trying to sort and/or pack a box a day just to get under way as I hate last minute rushes.
Now I'm off to have a totally naughty lunch. I made a Black Forest Trifle for the ladies golf lunch yesterday and there is some left over which I couldn't possibly leave to go bad or worse still throw in the garbage - mmm my taste buds are calling to it. Speak soon
