DUH!!! I only have two friends here so did not know how that worked. I thought in my logical mind that I had to ask you as well to get on my list. I missed the startup of it and asked Keith and he said there were a lot of people who didn't think it necessary. I do like to see if someone is but then, I only have you and Keith as friends and both of you are always out there posting. Thanks, I'm off on my errand run.

Thank you for the warm wishes. It was time, but after 29 1/2 years I still get a shock when I turn around to share something and no one is there. Oh well, life goes on. It's weird, because we still talk 2-3 times a week, we're just not married anymore. And, I am finding myself again without having to compromise. As the young kids say: It's all good.

Thanks for the kind comments on my photos. The waterfall pic was taken in the Finger Lakes area of NY (between Seneca and Cayuga lakes, I think). The pic of the boats was taken at Rockport MA harbor. And my terrifying ride on the zipline was on Maui HI.

How are you keeping?

Thanks for the birthday greetings. After a very quiet birthday last Sunday, I've been out bush beyond the call of internet and email this week. I arrived home last night to several belated birthday messages emailed and posted by friends and family.

It's been a great week. Apart from teaching and travelling dusty roads - I've travelled a bit over 1.000 kms this week - I've been digging for yams, made johnny cakes (little damper cakes) to eat with magpie goose and wild duck (and yam)all roasted on the coals with us sitting on the ground by a great little creek in which I swam with "a mob" of excited kids.

Thurs night I went trudging in billabong mud collecting lily pods (yummy nuts in them). Back in Darwin, have had a swim in the pool, went to the supermarket for my food and have the internet for communication. Talk about 2 different worlds.

Have posted another picture of a wreck - all painted up for sale. I guess it will take a few months to come up. Have also some great photos or this week's activities. Might post some that don't allow children adults to be identified.

Gee, my Canuck friend, I just called in to say hello and I see that you haven't had any visitors since 1st November and it's the 6th today. Five whole days with visitors. That's a rarity!

Hello Greg - I am just stopping in to say, "Hi." Our leaves are mostly gone now here in Michigan, so I bet yours are too. Rick and I spent 2 1/2 weeks in Virginia and it was beautiful there. They got a whole 2 inches of snow last winter. It is hard to imagine for the mountains. (They are about 3200 feet above sea level.) The sun shined everyday except for two. That sunshine seems to help the soul! I hope all is well up there in your neck of the woods. May you have a sunny day! Cheers.

Hi Greg, thanks for the well wishes. Amber and I are quite excited about our trip. We have lots of fun things planned and lots of people we will meet. Should be a great time. I am sure we will all have some great pictures to put on our pages for all to see. I would like to get out to Toronto again to see my brother and his family one day soon. Maybe make a trip up to your neck of the woods. I have never been to Ottawa before. It would be a good educational trip for Amber, too.

Nov 11th is celebrated in Germany as St Martin's Day, with goose on the menu, and as the start of the Carnival season. 'Karneval' commences officially at 11.11 on 11.11 and continues until Shrove Tuesday, but is mainly celebrated in the Catholic states. Memorials to soldiers killed in WW1 and WW2 are few and far between here but they do exist - they are just hard to find.
