Hello Hal - I really enjoyed looking at your pictures. I have never been to Arizona. I think the colorful lizard was amazing. Your sunset pictures were very pretty. What a great trip this must have been. Thank you for sharing with us!!!!

Loved your new gallery! I especially liked the rock formation. Where is it? My favorite rock formation is in Cornwall, UK, near Land's End. It looks just like a lounging rabbit.

Hello HalT, have just had a look at your wonderful photoes!! I particularly liked the one of the Yucca, as my dear old Dad had a very big one of these in his front garden which he called a 'snail' plant. Thanks for the memories!

Hello HalT, and thank you, they are rather nice, but are all at home at the moment, so it is rather hectic! Hense my lack of computer time lately!!
Yes, the Three Sisters are in the Blue Mountains and it is a shame you missed them. Still gives you an excuse to return!! We live about 2 hours away, and went with a cousin of Dan's one afternoon while playing hookey, to 'high tea' at a very posh hotel called the Hydro Majestic!! Such fun!! Put it on your agenda for next time!!

Hi Hal! I posted this on the 'medium', then thought to post it here as well.....

Hal, I think the Cleveland Indians have moved the team from Florida to Goodyear for spring training.
It puts them in the Cactus League. Are you a baseball fan?

P.S. Love the new photos!

Hal, you have some wonderful photographs, outstanding scenery, you must have enjoyed staying there a great deal. Loved the bus hotel!! Quite a novel idea. The one I liked is the view from your balcony, what a vista to wake up to in the morning. You are very lucky.

Hal, your pictures are great! Did you go up there this summer? If you did, was it chilly? We have had a cool summer here in Michigan. I know that is farther north than we are. Thank you sharing your pictures. It was a lot of fun looking at them!

The photos are spectacular, Hal! My hubby walked in while I was looking at them and said, "That is a trip we should take". I may be asking you specifics at some point!

Hello Hal - I just read your comment on tough about Uluru (Ayers Rock). I hadn't realised you had visited our fine shores.
Back in September I fly to Darwin and went by coach to Broome on a ten day tour. I did a flight over the Bungle Bungle in West. Oz and landed on the dirt airstrip and did a treck through the rock formation. That was an awe inspiring experience. I may one day get to Ayers Rock and Alice Springs but there are still many places overseas I would like to visit while I'm still able to make long flights. Age does have a habit of creeping up on us one day.
Enjoy the rest of your Christmas Day!
Cheers
Anne

Hi Hal! From yesterday's Tough picture (which was taken by me of my dad in the Cowra Japanese Gardens), the June Long Weekend was Monday 8th in 2009 (the earliest the 2nd Monday falls). Autumn officially begins in March but although there is a sudden nip on 1st March it invariably warms up again and Autumn proper only begins in mid-April. The coldest months are July and August so June is still a bit of a transition.

Hal, we are in the Waco area, just visit all the other areas.
Man is from the Temple area, and I am from the Houston area. Even with all these areas covered, there is still so much of Texas I have not seen yet.
Sorry, I had more to say, but I have a child that is refusing to go to bed. The plan is to become an abusive parent one day.

I've been known to gain some mild pleasure from turning the page. There's just such a freshness with a new page. Maybe the appeal for me is that I'm a wanna-be writer? No explanation for why I like 100.

Now, this 22 business is something I try very hard to avoid. I've stumbled into it a few times. I'd rather leave it for those who are wired for that kind of pleasure.

Hi Hal,no the locust are more out in the centre of Aust,we live near the coast. When we were living at Robinvale they were a problem in that area as there are a lot of wheat fields around there as well as table grapes and other fruit.
Looking forward to viewing your new photos.

Hi, just saw your comment on my mtn. picture. That would be as we were biking over Independence Pass (Aspen area). You're absolutely right about the summers. I always loved coming to ski, but we really fell in love when we came out one July for the big lacrosse tournament. Fate then smiled on us and presented an opportunity to move here in '96 and they haven't kicked us out yet!

Hal, I love your photo gallery! It ALMOST makes me want to travel north. Maybe in July. You did a terrific job capturing the beauty and magnificence of the rugged terrain. I'm a little surprised that you haven't included photos of the Carolinas.

Hal, just spent time looking at your photos. It was great having your grand daughter to share your trip. I see you spent time in Skagway but did you do the White Pass Railway. That and the Flam in Norway are probably my two favourite railways.
You have some fantastic photos of your holiday.
