I thought that my Chelsea was big at 165#. She was 40# heavier than her Father mix English Sheep Dog & ? Lab, Mother was a Blood Hound. She looked like her father (couldn't see her eyes with all the fur), except she had the long ears of a Hound Dog - covered with Long Hair. If you pulled her hair away from her eyes, she had the sad Blood Hound eyes). She was loving, a small bear, loved to cuddle, friendly - I believe she showed the burglers around the house to where the good stuff was. She crossed over Rainbow Bridge almost 13 years ago.
Her replacement - Tipper - is a rescued dog, now weighs between 65-70#, Vet believes she is a Border Collie Mix - and would have been a good working dog - with sheep. She was 6 months old when my husband died, so she has become my dearest friend & companion - loves to travel and camp. She is nearly 13 years old (a scary age for my dogs - Chelsea's predecessor was 13 when killed by coyotes).
I have avoided getting a dog of the same breed as any of the other dogs we have had, because I was afraid of comparing them to the memory of their predecessor. So your getting a small Rotti, is a good idea.
Just remember to check the size of the paws - they will grow into them.

Hi Nal, So good to hear some happy news about Nitro finding a wonderful family who will love and care for him until he's large enough to take care of them...and it won't be long before he becomes your fearless protector as you run (okay..walk, drive) through the Everglades finding wonderful flowers and other gifts of nature to photograph. I'm so happy for you and the rest of the family 'cause everybody knows about that hot Latin temperament.....LOL! Have fun...enjoy the love!

NAL, Nitro is a beautiful pup. Only question, just how did you get him to sit so still for the photo? You do lovely photos of your dogs and a black dog is not easy to photograph. This one, well, just look at his eyes! You captured this pup! Happy that Nitro found you!

Good morning, Nal. I wonder if you are out 'exploring' with your camera & maybe Nitro? today. Thanks for asking about Ebony. She had her third dip for the mange yesterday. I feel so bad for her, but she tolerates it well. Sad thing is we can't get her wet in between dips & she was enjoying her dips in our pool much more than the dips at the vet. She's still on her antibiotics for the urinary infection. I am starting to have a sick feeling there may be some hidden anatomical problem. She doesn't seem to have as much energy as most puppies & sometimes I think I can see a sad look in her eyes. We're trying our best to make her healthy & happy. We love our sweet

Does Nitro live up to his name? Don't worry about slipping with the name. After 9 years, I stll catch myself saying Bubba. And remember, a little spoiling never hurts.

If I saw that snake like you did, I'd set an all time new record for high jump!
How's Nitro doing, last I saw he still had his eyes closed! Babies and puppies sometimes just won't cooperate. My grandson smiles and laughs all the time but get a camera in his face and he gets this serious ''What is that contraption on your face?'' look.

Happy to have been some small help nal. I hope that photo was taken on your longest telephoto lens, it looks too cloce for comfort. Come to think of it, if you were that far away why is is poised to strike?
Take great care please, 'cos there will be another one out there somewhere.

Oh Nal do forgive me, I've just read some of your back pages and realised about Rocko. I bring you a cutting of honeysuckle - for its glorious colour and scent, and shade for Nitro too when he wants it. (Unfortunately) I have many shrubs & plants throughout the garden for different friends; each one cheers me and offers something different through the day/seasons. Nitro will bring you much joy. Take good care. Rocko walks within you.

Nal, your water lily photo is absolutely stunning. I am totally in awe of your ability with a camera. Are you a professional? if not, you should be.
I'm glad to hear Nitro is settling in and that you occasionally call him Rocko - believe it or not I have actually been know to call my dog (Reggie) James. My youngest son (James) is not at all impressed! I suppose I can't blame him.
Best wishes to you and Jim - and Nitro and Boo.

Nal~I did get it posted, but you know what this program is doing, its shutting down in the middle of a project,I saw in the reviews that is a big issue with the 5.0,do you have that problem?I didn't know it went through the internet to work,I don't like that,I would have done more with it but the darn thing keeps shutting down!
anyway those are horses that a almish fella had working at our property pulling out timber,my husband took it ,I thought it turned out good and he got a kick out of me posting it to I think

Not too great today, have a chest infection - just got up to make my husbands sandwiches, shall go back to bed now - singing of course! Enjoy your day/evening.
