as a kid I had a dog that had just three legs due to an accident. he coped really well and lived happily for many years. I hope that Rocko is improving and you get him home soon.

Oh Nal my heart is breaking for you and Rocko. I am praying for a miracle. Saying 'goodbye' to a loved member of the family is never easy. I have had to say goodbye to two of my cats over the last couple of years and it tears you up. I still have four cats and the youngest is 13.

Nal, I'm so sorry to hear the latest. I know where you are and how you're feeling. One thing our vet told us is if your pet is happy he will not show that he is sick. Because you love Rocko so much, whatever decision you make will be the right one.

I wrote you a message the other day, but instead of showing up here, it appeared on one of the puzzle pages. I can only hope that by knowing that so many of us care, your burden during these terribly sad days will be a little lighter. NAL, what a beautifil memorial you have created for your wonderful friend Rocco. I can tell you had a special bond, and this bond will not be broken by his death.

I'm very sorry for you, Nal. I've got 2 labradors who were born in June 1999 and I'm afraid when I see them getting older. Rocko looked so kind!

Nal - A good dog is a family member, your child. The difference is dogs return your love 10 times over. That returned love is a very real loss. I finally got to the computer today and learned of your loss. You have lost the physical presence of Rocko. But he will always be with you. You can see it in his eyes. There's a depth of love and understanding that is quite remarkable! Please know that your Sudoku friends mourn his passing very deeply. You have shared his special qualities with us and we can begin to understand what these last few days have been like for you. We send our love and virtual hugs to you, and to your wonderful family.

'Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play toether. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
