Hi June, How did your holiday go? I'm afraid you didn't get very good weather.

Hello June. I'm having a bit of an identity crisis - I was once LP but had to change my name in order to become a sudoku member as two letter screen names are not accepted! (Signing up for membership was a requirement in order to send you a message.) I sent you a private message regarding our upcoming trip to Australia.

Thanks for the warm welcome, June. I'm glad you were the impetus behind my officially joining the Sudoku family. Hopefully I'll get some pictures up soon. I received your lovely message and will respond later this weekend.

Hello June, Hope you had a lovely holiday. The Baltic Cruise sounds like it would be fun. One of my favorite things to do is travel. Don't think I have been here since you added pictures. Your Biscuit Barrel is gorgeous, I have some crystal ones but none made of china.

Hi June! I haven't had a chance to catch up with you since you got back from your vacation and I left on mine so I wanted to stop by and see how you are doing and find out how your trip was. I'm still unpacking and unwinding from my vacation while trying to get in gear to get the 3 kids ready to go away to school. We have a conflict with S#2's first day of school (they're starting a day early) and getting D#2 to boarding school on the same day. There's always something! Well, I hope you are having a great day! Here are some flowers to help brighten your day. Take care!

Hello June, thank you for the invitation to drop by to have a look a Laura's new pics. My, she is really starting to look like a little person now, although just as lovely as always!!
I work full time in Castlereagh St, so if you ever get into the city, maybe we could have an SA meeting!

Wonderful photos of our little girl. But she is not so little any more. But she did enjoy her time with Grandma and Pa, and you captured some photos as well.

June, are the pictures of your granddaughter? What a precious child.

I sent you a response to your message and am wondering if you received it. My computer gave me an odd reaction when I pushed the 'send' button, so I wasn't sure if it went through.

Anyway, our trip to Australia is less than two weeks away now, and we are getting excited. We are visiting our daughter for the weekend. Saturday is our grandson's 3rd birthday, so a big celebration is in order.

Hope all is well with you.

June, thank you ever so much for your lovely compliments. Itoo visited Newcastle on a wild and windy day but I was lucky in that the sun came out for about 30 milliseconds - just enough time to photograph the ship in full sunshine. I call that just blind luck.
I see from above that Linda/Pioneer is about to visit Australia. We are on our way overseas in a couple of weeks.

My mother, who is a travel agent, asked me if I would like to go on a Safari.......she would pay for it. While that had not been at the top of my list (NZ was & I had just returned - this was in 1999), you can figure out my answer. The trip was for travel agents. Their was one other daughter and a couple of husbands on the tour that were not agents. So we flew between places and had 2 nights at each of the 3 Safari locations & generally had 2 outings a day at each location. Plus a single night before leaving on Safari and 2 nights upon return from our last safari at the Safari Park Hotel - with a late flight out the following night. So we had 2 full days in/around Nairobi (shopping/tours + a later afternoon & evening. Our first night there was after our plane got in around 10 pm - it was just off to bed. They kept a portion of our luggage that we would not need on Safari (formal wear for a state dinner party) at the hotel for our return. This helped us keep within the luggage weight restriction on the small plane we were using. It was a fun trip and worth not getting any birthday or Christms presents for several years after. My Mom is still working as a travel agent at 85, she has been to around 150 countries - some many times.

Thank you very much June for hubby's birthday wishes. I most certainly did pass them on to him, I think he was quite choofed receiving them from all over the world. We were lucky enough to be able to spend the day together and spent it doing some retail therapy and having lunch at a little cafe. I could get very used to that kind of life!

Good evening June. I received your latest email and have full intentions of responding tomorrow. Right now I'm recovering from the invasion of our grandchildren (which we thoroughly enjoyed) and we are in full packing mode. We're getting so excited about our trip and really looking forward to meeting you and Ken.

Cheers!!!

Hi, June! I was catching up on comments at SA3 and realized I needed to come visit you here. It has been a while since my last visit, so thought I would bring an apple streudel and some apple cider for you to enjoy. I also looked through your photo gallery. How nice to SEE you! You and hubby look great all dressed up (and I, too, love his tie - very subtle!). Hope all is well with the horse who visited the vet. Was it the same one as in the picture visiting Laura at the door? Hope to see you in SA3 one of these days!

Thank you for the Birthday Wishes last week. I had dinner with Mom that evening. She then flew up to Portland, OR for a Class Reunion (68th) and flew back for the wedding on Saturday of her only grand-nephew (my cousin’s son – 41, first marriage). Mom (85) refused to take a nap after getting up at 3 am for the flight back and insisted on driving (through Los Angeles to Orange County) for the wedding – she still drives fast. By the time we got to there we were not speaking & the drive back was even worse – getting home around midnight. The wedding & reception was wonderful (so was the beach party the night before, which Mom had missed). Dad always said the reason we fight, was because we are so much alike – both strong willed women. But, we will always love each other. I left Tuesday, had a meeting in No. Calif. Wednesday afternoon, and decided to camp at Burney Falls State Park – making my dog happy, before returning home. The back is still bothering me – but no violent pains – more of the gnawing variety and when standing up after sitting too long (so there were a lot of stops on the way down and on the way home). Thanks for the good wishes – I’m safe if not sound.

Hi June, thanks for your comment and thanks for the free publicity. It would have been nice to have been able to catch up with Linda, but this is our last weekend before departing on Monday and I can't see that we would have been able to afford the time. I can understand Linda's concern, my family were very cautious when I suggested a meeting with CP from Canberra, but they simply didn't understand the Sukodu Family. My wife and I eventually met up with Col/Victoria at Anglesea last November and her attitude has changed completely. We hope to make contact with André in UK during our visit. I will be away from the site for a month - unless I can pinch a bit of computing time from our hosts as we travel.

Hi, June! I haven't been able to spend much time at SA3 lately, and the next 2 weeks will be away from a computer. Then I'll need to do the unpacking/laundry/putting away thing like you have had to do. As I suffer my withdrawal symptoms, I'll be thinking of you and all the other SA regulars. Just think, it will "almost" be spring by the time I can post again. Take care, and I hope to "see" you again soon!

June, I have looked all over for my comment about how happy I was that your meet up with Linda went so well. I spent time going over the pictures and enjoying many of your comments...yet...where is mine? I must really be losing it..lol...anyway, Thanks for sharing, its always nice to be able to put faces and names together, and your very welcoming offer to have the home made cookies was super. Laura is adorable as is your grandson...Boy is cute too...lol, now I can better relate to some of the SA comments!

Hi June! Just looked over your photos again after I saw you had met up with Linda from Pioneer. It's great you two were able to spend some time together. I keep wishing I had met so many of you Sudoku Aussies BEFORE our 2005 trip there instead of afterward. It would have been fun to meet up with a few people in the various places we visited. See you have been to Wales! That's on my wish list as some of my ancestors came from Wales. See you were there in July? That's probably the warmest time for a wimpy Floridian like me to go, right? I get chilly if the temp goes below 70F!!

Hello June, and I was really being a bit tongue in cheek about Linda, and I do understand her family, as I am trying to talk my hubby in to coming to Bronte on the 21st, and ...., well I will keep trying! Would love to see you in town anytime, though I will be off from the 24th until after the long weekend.

Hi June. We are safely back home after a wonderful trip. I am gradually taking care of all the things that have piled up in our absence.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful tour you and Ken provided us. You were so generous of your time and energy and helped us to see things we wouldn't otherwise have done!

Hopefully I'll be organized enough in a few days to get some pictures posted.

Again - thank you so very much.

JUNE, thanks for the kind words about my quilts. Someday I need to photograph others and continue my show and tell.

Stone Mountain is an enjoyable place, and there is a lot to see. It is a bit commercial, but the lazer light show at night is most enjoyable and the museum is most interesting. I also enjoyed the plantation, seeing an old house furnished and even with the appropiate to period furniture and QUILTS.

the town of Stone Mountain is delightful. We had a lovely lunch at a "tea house" there, and the food was very good. I hope someday you do get to visit the south east, butr do not come in JULY, humidity is brutal.

Hi June, thanks for taking the time to download and watch the video. It wasn't very long ago(last Oct.) that I still had dial up. This summer I had over 10 hummies at the feeders on several occasions. I've never been up to Revelstoke. When we went to Toronto Sept. 2 yrs ago, we took the southern route to Banff and camped at the Lake Louise campsite 1 night. Woke up to ice on the tent. We often go to Kelowna to shop, it is a 3 hr drive from here. Laura is growing fast. I usually recognize her before the captions come up now. I think your pic of Boy at the door is hilarious. Our friends down in the States have a horse named Boy, too, but I don't think he goes to the door to get fed. He does get free reign of the yard at times. Saves on mowing time I guess.

Hi, June, I'm happy to meet you! And the camelias are lovely - one of my favorite flowers even thought they are not commonly grown here.

I look forward to getting to know everyone here. It seems like a friendly gathering of good people.

Feel free to visit any time. My door is open, though you may have to wake me!

June, just wanted to let you know, my middle son was diagnosed with an ulcer at the age of 9. I think his was caused by the ADHD meds he was on. Diet and acid reducing meds helped him. I hope Laura's are as easy to fix.

Hi, June! I keep missing you on SA pages. I read about Laura and her ulcers. It is my understanding that ulcers are caused by a virus - not worry and stress like we used to think. They have also found that a diet heavy on dairy is not necessarily the best approach. I'll be thinking and praying for Laura, her family, her doctors, and you as they find the best treatment. Hope all goes well!

June, just read my email about Laura. I hope she is all right. My son (now 27) had an endoscopy when he was 6 mos old--no ulcers found, though very close. He also had some sort of challenge that they did with the endoscope. Both of the tests showed that he was not producing the enzymes he needed to digest anything he was eating (everything was literally "going in one end and out the other").
Both tests did, however, lead to his diagnosis of Shwachman Syndrome. Just mentioning this in case Laura's doctors come up against a wall with diagnosing or effectively treating her. The signs and symptoms of Shwachman's are very similar to ulcers, reflux, etc; and it's so hard to tell in small children.
Hope all goes well. Did youu enjoy the coffee? Glad you could make time to sit for a spell. I guess it's a little early there for anything stonger than tea? I'm hoping you've got some lemon for the tea? Thanks--my turn to relax.

June, I haven't really been keeping up with the Sudoku site recently, as we've been babysitting our 2 grandchildren while their parents are away. I just popped in while the kiddies are napping, and see that Laura is still having troubles. Please keep me posted as to how she is doing.
