Back at Christmas time I posted the news that grandson Chase was going to become a big brother in July. I am happy to announce that his baby sister Maddox Ann Martin was born at 6:09 P.M. on July 27, 2015. She weighed 9 pounds and measured 21 1/4 inches long. We are thrilled to have a third granddaughter (the others are 19 and 16!) and six grandsons and feel very blessed.

Hi Kathy!
for visiting my page! Giggle! The homes on stilts surprised the heck out of me! But as you and Jane have informed me "ce qui est commun"! Golly I feel like Dorothy in Oz! Still have a few more pics to post! Did you like Princess Eden's portrait?

Kathy, thanks so much for posting this u-tube. My hubbie had showed me the article about this in our local paper a while ago. I had tears streaming down my face watching the video. It is truly amazing how much we can learn about life and doing the right thing from our chirldren or their friends. Thankf for reminding me!
Take care and have a wonderful day,

Hi Kathy! Thank you so much for the birthday greeting - it gave me a chance to visit your page and watch the youtube video. WOW - that was powerful! I also really enjoyed seeing your painted bunting. We are big bird feeders and watchers at our place in the northern Sierra Nevada mountains of CA...but we don't see anything that colorful. We are enjoying the Grossbeaks that are in our area right now. They are giving birth to their babies - very fun to watch these characters.
Stop by my page sometime so we can chat.
Blessings

Hi Kathy! I don't get to see Haley as often as I would like - they live about 3 1/2 hours from us and we all have such busy lives. But we are very close. I'm going down to stay for a couple of days at their (my brother and sister-in-law) house before Haley goes back to school. We're going to play in their pool all day long and I'm going to have Haley teach me a "hip-hop" routine!
Here's one last shot of her as I sign off!

Hi Kathy! The village is Louresse-Rochemenier, near Doué la Fontaine, about 30 kilometers south of Angers. There are also an interesting zoo, wonderful rosaries, some "châteaux de la Loire" and local delicious wines... all we need for a nice holiday, except a web connexion! I'm very happy to go but I'll miss sudokuland.

Hi Kathy! I just love this time of year - good weather to play and LOTS of great tennis on TV (thank you Tennis Channel!)
I mostly play doubles and am rated a 3.5 player. Unfortunately I have missed playing this past year - haven't even gotten out to hit with friends
My husband and I are doing a huge remodeling (and addition) to our house - and we are doing all the work. So I have been working hard at home and not getting out for much else but some yoga, runs and bike rides.
Tennis is so much fun! I only started playing about 7 years ago. It was my life until we started this project.
Tell me about your tennis life??? I bet Florida is a wonderful place to be a tennis player!

Kathy - Nationals! How absolutely tremendous!!!
I think the Senior league is very tough - lots of very skilled players in their 50's. I just turned 54 and can't wait to be able to play in the Super Seniour league (guess I shouldn't be TOO anxious for that!). I'm tall and very strong, so I think if I can stay that way (I am shrinking a bit!), I could be a tough opponent at 60.
I can't even imagine how you play in that heat, Kathy - and humid heat, at that! My hat's off to you, girlfriend!
I love so much about playing tennis: it's a great exercise, only you're having so much fun, you don't notice...it keeps my mind and body sharp (strategy and keeness are very useful!)...and it is so full of joy and laughter - especially with doubles!
I have met some lovely people playing tennis and I hope I can get back into the "swing" of it soon.

Hi Kathy - In answer to your questions re the markets - Yes I did shop the length of the markets, it's my wife's favourite pastime and as all the boys know you do what's good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Buskers are public place entertainers who rely on passersby paying them for their efforts. If people like what they are doing they will usually drop a coin or two in to their hat or whatever they use for collection.

Hi Kathy, I just looked through some of your photos on Flickr - your bunting is amazing! I have seen them only in bird books. So lucky you are! It is great that you have met so many friends from Sudokuland. Oh, BTW, we also had that same Titanic exhibit here a few yrs ago at COSI (central Ohio science institute or something) - it was really fun. It's a small world!!

HI there Kathy. Thanks for visiting my page and for your comments on my photos. I'm back form the Tiwi islands now .. but that beautiful sunset scene happened just across the road and along the beach from my home there. Trouble was , I was so busy with the job that I often didn't get home in time to see it.

Gday Kathy, just a quick pop in to answer your question. Too much to catch up on to stop and chat though.
Long story short, went back to Adelaide (home town) for a family reunion on hubby's side. Unfortunately, just before we left, we got news that my elderly Mum was not well and we were very worried. Luckily when we arrived and saw her, which was a couple of days after she had been to the doc, we were very relieved to see that she had perked up no end. So, all's well that ends well.
Thank you for asking.
Hope all is well with you and yours. Did I read that you are 'expecting' again? Please pass on my best wishes to the lucky couple.

Hi Kathy! Have been thinking of you and I'm glad you dropped by! Yes, the kitchen aggravation continues at this end, but no one will be around for a few weeks until the crown molding and other cabinet drawers appear (some arrived damaged, naturally ...) I hope you're making sense of all the choices available out there ... let me know if I can help! On a positive note, when we look around our kitchen, we're blissfully happy with everything (except perhaps, the floor--love the look but all the trades scratched the daylights out of it). Keeping my fingers crossed that your project will go smoothly and quickly! (Our friend tells us that renovation is like childbirth--in time, you forget the pain!)

Elise was a name I used on another site I used to be on instead of my own name.
But then I realised I was using Viv sometimes in chat so thought may as well put my real name up.

Hi Kathy..... I've had one dog with a torn ACL, as well as 2 cows and 2 bulls.
The dog was a male Collie, about 4 or 5 when it happened. My Vet just recommended crate rest for a week or so, then to restrict exercise for a while after that. It took about 6 months for him to recover completely.

Hi... I didn't get to finish the previous note because my husband was bugging me to go give a shot to a calf with pink-eye, and it had to be done THAT MINUTE! (I had been trying to get him to help me for hours)
The dog, Geordi, did not have surgery on his ACL, but he never was one of my more active dogs. When he was 2 weeks ild, his dam developed Pyometria, and accidently stepped on his head and put an eye out. She didn't mean to, she just felt too sick. Geordi wasn't too big on running with the rest of the dogs because he constantly got blind-sided.
Cattle do not recover from the injury. They cannot walk far enough to be able to graze sufficiently, and loose a lot of weight. One cow tore hers one month before calving, and couldn't even walk to the water tank, so I had to keep her up in the hospital pen for the last month of pregnancy, then coddle her and the calf until the calf was weaned. The cow became quite a pet, and it really was hard to send her to slaughter. The bulls that tore their ACL's had to go to slaughter immediately. They still were in good flesh, but would never be able to breed a cow again. When you're talking about an animal that weighs over a ton, and has to stand on it's hind legs to breed, when the leg with the torn ACL gives out, and it will, the leg breaks. It's much more humane to prevent that kind of pain.
Luckily with dogs, there is help.

Gday Kathy, how was Fripp? I envy your times away, must be great for the soul. We are getting closer to the time when we can escape for a while, it is still hard with one in school and hubby still working. The good thing is that it is his company and can dictate his own terms for holidays, but because he is such an integral part of the whole business, he still needs to be very hands on at certain times. Oh well, always the future to look forward to.
Take care

Kathy, thanks for the Birthday greetings. It got up to 108° higher than forcasted and set a new high for the date..Saturday is suppose to be in the 100's also, but cooling by Tues to the low 80's.
The concert was great - Saturday & Sunday's concerts will wrap of the Classical Season. The following Sunday is Judy Collins - and only a couple more weeks after that the Britt Season will end - and then Football will be underway.
Thanks again for the Birthday wishes.

Hi Kathy,
Thanks for dropping into my place to sample the sushi. I am very cost conscious and I do price the material cost of items. The most expensive (like the salmon-roe cups) cost about 50p each piece, whilst the least expensive ones (individual slices of rolls) cost about 30p each piece. So for a special full meal per person is less than 5 pounds. For a starter you only need about four decent pieces, and that is about 1-50 per person. I am well practiced so I get quicker at it all the time. After many years of sushi-making I am like greased lightning in the kitchen, very efficient and make few mistakes.

Kathy - What a beautiful summer house - and an equally beautiful picture of it with the oats!
I'm with you sister, not one for controversy. I'm not interested in trying to change someone else's mind - gotta respect where ever they are coming from. And I CERTAINLY am not interested in someone trying to change my mind. I'm open for change, but it comes naturally by attraction, not promotion. Well, that's my 2 cents! Glad I'm not alone in it...I imagine a lot of us here are the same way with that as I don't see too many being drawn into some of the heated debates...considering our numbers here.
Hope you have a fabulous day, Kathy, and keep yourself safe with Faye on the way!

Is the storm going there, i'm worried about you.
i hope it doesn't come to your place.
We just faced the big one so we know how horrible it is.
I hope this storm is not near to you or to your family.

Kathy!! YOu just made my year by writing on my page! :) We are STILL NOT settled yet---hopefully by mid-September. My husband, 7 yr old son TJ and I are cramped into a furnished 1-bedroom apt. Not the same as having your own stuff! :) 23 YEARS??!!!!! I bow down to you! We're almost at 13. And I'd say relocating initially is always the rough part!! But we are meeting people and that obviously is huge--thanks loads, darling, for checking in on me! :)XOXOXO, C!!
