Big NEWS!!!!!!!!!!

Just as soon as I returned here a few months ago-back in full force, i'll be off again, quite extensively

My husband and I have been offered a position as co-managers for a retirement facility. We will be living/working there, and it will change everything, in the way of time. I can't even fathom how much my blogging, sudoku'ing, and internetting will change- but it is the best for us.
My hubby has student loans that are extensive now- and they are due. we don't have the finances to pay them and other things, so we looked at another option, and it has panned out.

this will allow us to cut out housing expenses, meals, utilities, and also will double our salary.
We will now be so busy though, as we are on-call through the night with the Seniors. and we'll have our 2 days off (which is really 1 day with 2 half days) and so we'll be stretched for time to get online. Though I plan on it, since it's how I keep intouch with everyone :)
So far we plan to keep the internet (hopefully that won't be a problem).

We are being given a few sign-on extra's, one being that we get to keep our 10day vacation at the beginning of August, just only 2 weeks after our work begins at the facility- so it's a real blessing!

We are also going to keep our little dog, and will do our best to run him in the evening and check in on him during the day as time allows.
We are so attached to him, but if worse came to worse- we would offer him to family or someone who would love him as much as us- though it kills me to say and think it, so that's the last i'm speaking of it for now

anyway- I just want to say. I love my friends, and acquaintences here. This has been great. It will always be great, no matter who comes and goes. I hope this isn't me going- i'll be arouhd, just might not beable to do puzzles nearly at all, or stop in everyday- but i'll do my best, because I truly don't want to lose my ties again!

I actually would have posted a birthday thankyou on everyones pages, but since we got the news of our life change, the night before my birthday- it turns out i've got a TON OF THINGS to DO!!!

I have a week and a half to organize, pack our home, change addresses, and a million other things- so i've got to get going!

Congrats!! It looks like your financial situation has definitely changed for the better!

And look into taking your dog to work with you. A lot of places are dog friendly now, if the dog is relatively well behaved. He/she might even become a mascot to the retirees. Ever hear of therapy dogs???

Don't worry about us, we'll be fine!
Try and post once a month to let us know how you are and how things are going. Hubby and I went into a business venture in 2000 and for 12 months worked side-by-side, and got on famously. It was like we didn't even need to communicate instructions, we just seemed to telepathically know what to do. I wish the same for you two.

Marylinn - congratulations to both of you. It will be a lot of work, but that obviously doesn't scare you!
We haven't crossed paths much in the last year, but it has been wonderful to see the two of you work through many things.
Get your bills under control, stay the same neat person you are, and then you can get back to the way of life you both want.

Wanted to wish you a belated .I was very busy that day and missed the birthdays.
Great news about your move and new job. It will keep you both busy but I am sure you will be able to pop in from time to time to let us know how you are getting on.
If your little dog is a very friendly one he may be an asset with the 'seniors'. There has been studies about the benefit of having animals with the elderly.

Hi Marylinn! I stopped by to wish you well with the new jobs and noticed I was out of town when you celebrated your birthday Sooo, a very to you!
BTW, my Mom was in a senior citizen/retirement home where they had a resident Jack Russell Terrier that spent his days entertaining the old folks. They loved him! The amazing little guy spent his days going from one person to another showing love and warmth. He brought a smile to everyone's face. Maybe your pup could do the same. Please try to keep in touch and let us know how things are going for you.

Wow! I was thinking that I hadn't seen you post recently only to find news that you were in a new phase of your life! Soooo.... Good luck in your new ventures! I am catching up a bit since I hadn't been able to spend much time on the site for about a month or so and finally things have settled down a bit. (I was volunteering in the office for a local festival in June & July and we also are in the chaotic midst of adding a room to our house.)

Hey folks-

I'm alive. I'm breathing- sometimes i'm alert and sometimes i'm sleeping. sometimes both in the same moment, and in others, not coherent at all.
well friends- just wanted to say hi- and offer a short update.

We didn't have internet access until this week-
we've been doing alot in working/training, working (managing) alone, while the other managers had their time off, ect.

we went on our trip- Linda... we only had a day/half in IA, and flew back home as quick as we got there, it wouldn't have worked this visit, but hopefully next! I thought about you while taking flight :)

I've missed some of my friends here, and hope you're all well. I haven't any time for puzzles or reading anymore, and haven't read in weeks, so- I hope all is well or moving on with everyone!

If for any reason, anyone would like to share updates with me on my page, that'd be great- if not.. that'd be life.

anyway- we're still kickin'

I hope to report the same, the next time I'm around- I also hope that once we get settled in and into a routine, that i'll bring back my puzzles and reading- so I'll just have to see..

No news from me Marylinn, the highlight of my life at the moment is that I've taken up pamphlet delivery to get some exercise - says it all doesn't it?
