Aileen, the baby we were celebrating is my cousin's grandson. Unfortunately the families of both parents are in Japan so I did the honors for them. The good news is Kaiya has gained a whole pound since his birth three weeks ago. Hopefully after he reaches the necessary pounds to go home, he'll slow down on his weigh gain, or he'll end up a huge balloon!

An appropriate photo for me today. The fourth of July celebration was rained out on Wednesday so they rescheduled for tonight. I just got home about 30 minutes ago from the fireworks display. Belated Happy Fourth Of July to all.

Hello friends. Thank you all so much for your words of comfort. Believe me when I tell you, they help.
We just came back from the animal hospital. Rocko will be there until after the surgery. Hopefully it will be successful - there will be two other alternatives - amputation or euthanasia.
The Dr said that she noticed something wrong when they placed him on the floor. He yelped and would not put his foot down. She palpated and noticed the leg too loose. They took X-rays and they discovered the fracture. It looked awful!
Her assistant looked plain scared when I went back to see Rocko. Whatever went on back there, I'll never know but they immediately said they would cover all expenses.
My heart aches. I miss him so much.
He is my buddy. My boy. I will never forget how sad and scared he looked. They have him sedated and comfortable - the house is empty without him.

Positive thoughts, nal, positive thoughts. You must believe he will get through this and be fine. My guess, they will be super careful to do everything right from now on because it appears it was their fault.

Nal, how terribly tragic for you and Rocko. Nothing but positive thoughts here too.

Shosho and Stella/Saratoga, have fun at the showers.
Keith, thank you for sharing. Breathtaking!
Hi Cyndi, thinking of you. for your sister.
Congrats Anne! As Rola said, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

everyone...we just finished working a motorcycle rally here in Billings Montana (Big sky country). We are sitting in our watching a lightning show with all the thunder and rain associated with it. We have been very busy and connection speed has been s-l-o-o-o-w so only been on to play a little. Have a great rest of the day OZ and America.

to all. Sorry I haven't been on much lately. Hope I haven't missed too much.
shosho, hope the baby shower is (was) great and fun for all. Hope you and Nola doing ok with the heat in Calif.
Nola, Congratulations and good luck to your daughter and new son-in-law for a wonderful wedding they (and you) will remember for a long time, and a wonderful and long life together. My daughter was married in April and they said that it was a perfect wedding and reception. I hope theirs is equally great. And congrats to you for raising a wonderful daughter. I hope the heat is not too overpowering for you and that the wedding is indoors with a good airconditioner.
