Heidi, must be veeery cold in Pennsylvania for them to be blue. I think the French town called Condom (as mentioned by GannieMo on Easy today) and the place in Austria that starts with F wouldn't be fun places to live in. Apparently the town signs just keep getting stolen!

Hello again, lovely people - I have survived my day full of grandies. Why are kids so loud? Can't believe that I ever could have been that loud.
Madagascar 2 was not too painful, except the cinema was so full that we had to sit in the front row. Have you ever tried to watch a movie from the front row. My neck will be stiff for weeks. Kids didn't seem to notice or mind.

Susan hope there is progress with your FIL in two days rather than 2 mths.
Poor you Lizzie, what put the power out for that long?
CynB, I haven't been to the cinema in years, but can remember having to sit on the front row and can sympathize with the sore neck.

Hi Brenda - I asked one of the neighbors if she knew what was going on. she spoke with the company that was working on it, they think the conduit covering the cable underground has been damaged, not sure what they will have to do to repair it. I wasnt home for most of it, but was starting to wonder how long the food would last in the fridge and freezer.

Hia Cyn - a friend gave us tickets to gold class at the cinema, we were unlucky, as we got the front row aswell, had to turn my head to see the whole screen, and I found that made me feel like I had vertigo, hard to focus, but they were free tickets........

Taking off in 5 minutes for the Hospital, myself.
Had a bad night. I was up until 4 am worshipping the porcelain god. I didn't realize how much had been in the tummy. My mouth is still swollen and painful.

Oh Heidi - take care. It's a lot to handle in a couple of days, having your teeth done and then the epidural. Hopefully by the end of the day you will be feeling better.
I'm off to bed now. Goodnight all

Heidi, I always think you can cope with a bad day if you've had a good night's sleep, but being up sick until 4am is not good. Hope the day brings some unexpected nice surprises!

Hi All. Just dropped in on my way to bed.
Heidi - feeling bad for you and hoping that the new day is better...
Susan - I hope your FIL is back to his old self very very soon. How hard it must be for you and your husband to watch this...
Lizzy - glad you have power back. Our record is 19 hours. We got bumped up the list because SisIL worked for the respite home down the road and yelled and jumped and lectured and nagged until they got it fixed. It never happened again...

Hi Suzy! I was just googling strange place names, and had a good laugh at some on www.thatsweird.net I didn't even know there was a place in Australia called Tittybong - and that's very mild compared to some. The site seems to have lots of weird facts and photos.
Thanks for your continuing good wishes. I'll let everyone know if things look up.

I just looked at pictures of the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai - the big sail shaped hotel. Yuck!! to the interior decor. I'd have a headache just looking at it.

Snowed a little last night, about 3 inches, but all of the schools are closed because we have freezing rain on top of it! I'd rather have the snow! Freezing rain probably means more trees down, plus we are stuck in the house because you can't go out when there's freezing rain!

Maen Sudokuland! The rain has stopped, I woke up because of the lack of noise hehehe. We might actually see sunshine fore the day is gone. One can only hope!
Heidi, hope you have a better day today.
Susan, prayers and good thoughts for your FIL's complete and rapid recovery.
LIZ, hope you can keep your power. food in a chest freezer will keep for 5 days, if you do not OPEN it! We were without power from a blizzard once, five days, and the only thing I lost to thawing were some chocolate Popsicles. It was too cold to want to eat those hehehe. I had an advantage though. Refrigerator things went into a snow cave I dug on my back deck, do not think you have snow.
I know there were other things I meant to say, but only had one cup of coffee and have not washed away the CRAFT disease today!

Good Maen all!
Yes, I know it's not Australia Day yet - but HAD to post this smilie coz my avatar was considered faulty!
The avatar is actually a furling flag of the Australian continent (with Taz at the tip - if you look closely) ...so with the furling effect not all parts of the continent are visible - CYN - but all of the picture I resized is showing except for the flag pole which does not display any part of the Australia! HA!

I'll have to give you a hard time in person (and visa versa) Cyn - when we finally get around to our skype visit!
But that won't be today as my schedule is jammed packed. Hope to catch up with some of you later this week.
Stay safe, MzT - I know your domes are safe, but beware of the trailer during dangerous weather!

VICI, if the weather gets dangerous, it is out to the dome we go! Even prepared to stay there overnight if weather with a history of tornadoes or damaging winds is headed toward us overnight. Have done it before, will most likely do it again! That is why I only took a nap when Al could keep a watch on the weather, with promises to come get me if severe stuff was heading our way. Thanks for being concerned though. all the severe stuff has moved east, now, it is still not even raining, yeah!
Kitty girls are happy they can be outside, but did balk a bit at the temperature. As expected, it is much cooler after this storm front passed. Kitty put her nose out and turned back inside, looked at me with a WHAT HAPPENED? kind of look. Silly Kitty!

did you have a better day yesterday suzy? or were you haunted by more bad luck?
stella- i remember ice storms from when we lived in wisconsin. (i'll bet heidi does too.) they were so pretty, but like you said the damaged can be bad, and no one should be driving in those condidtions. we are finally seeing blue sky and the mountains today. i start to go nuts if i can't see the mountains.

The epidural was quick today, so I'm back home and heading off to bed in a minute. We went through some snow and freezing rain on the way up, and a blizzard the way back, which stopped abruptly 5 miles from home.
Tummy seems to be behaving, but the mouth is still swollen and sore.

Hi Mariana.... we have worse ice storms here than we did in Wisconsin. We regularly have nasty ones, several of which have knocked our power out for 5 days at a time. I remember one which took out every power pole for 5 miles around us. Nasty!

Amber has been really cooperative about school work. Next week she will start curling. I hope she likes it.

Morning all! Just a quick drop in as I'm laying grass. Hubby is cutting grass strips out from where is he going to build the new herb garden, wheelbarrowing them out to the front yard, where I lay them down on the bare patch in the lawn. Self-made turf! It looks like we might get a bit of rain so I'm trying to get it done before it starts so it gets a good soaking to help it settle in.

Gail, thoughts and wishes and hugs and virtual bubbly (you can have that in the morning).
Heidi, sending hot chocolate with soft squishy marshmallows, a noice warm hot water bottle, and a quiet house so you can rest.
Rena, glad Amber is settling back into her school work. That makes it easier for everyone - especially her. Curling... hmmmm...
Hi Mamacita, sending you warm wishes for a wonderful new year with lots of happiness.
Actually, you can all have some of those if Mamacita will share with you, which we all know she will....
Mariana, sending you warm thoughts to warm you on these cold days...

I am supposed to be resting, but IH, who PROMISED to feed hay to the cows as soon as we got back, didn't (he wanted to make some phone calls). My big tractor won't start now, but I had to go out and check it. I know the little tractor will start, but he now has other things he wants to do first. I'm not allowed to do ANYTHING for 24 hours, and this is getting me mad.
