Hi, Fiona!
for the birthday wishes!

You are one of the Stars of Sudokuland--I don't always have the persistence to figure out your puzzles, but they're always a fun challenge!

Hi, Fiona! Thank you so much for the birthday greetings. As always, birthdays here in Sudokuland last 2 days, so I really don't start celebrating until tomorrow, our Thanksgiving. Thanks for the kind greeting and warm thoughts. Have a great day, both today and tomorrow!

Thank you for the birthday greetings Fiona, I have had a special day and opted for red wine over birthday cake...better for me, I think.

Thank you Fiona for your birthday wishes it has made my day so much more special. I just wish I had more time to work out your brainteasers, why is it women get less time to do what they want when their hubby retires.

Hi Fiona! I'm slowly catching up on Sudoku after our long trip. Thank you for your birthday greeting on Dec. 4 & for calling me a YOUNG lady - tee hee! I had a wonderful day which began when we watched the sun rise at Angkor Wat in Cambodia - unforgettable! One of the couples in our tour group are ages 81 & 78, & they were among the liveliest of the bunch, so we're hoping we can stay as fit & enthusiastic about traveling as they are for at least 16 more years! I have posted only one picture of our trip on my page so far, but I will try to whittle down the thousands of pictures we took to just our favorites & post them on Flickr as soon as I can find time. Meanwhile, Rob & I would like to wish you & your family a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. It will be 2009 before we know it!

Hi Fiona,

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and Hogmonay in Scotland.

Now though you may be wishing for something a wee bit stronger that could provide a few drams, my traditional Christmas fare in the non cyber world is some home made lemon cordial.

In your case, particulary as you'll be up in Scotland - I'll decant it into a used whiskey bottle - how about Glen Morange single malt.

So here's a bottle...

LEMON CORDIAL
Ingredients:
Juice of 7 large lemons
Grated rind of 5 large lemons
1 kg sugar
1.5 litres of water
25g citric acid
Method:
1.In a large pan, boil up sugar, water, grated peel and citric acid.
2.Take off the heat and add juice, If preferred, this may be strained.
3.Bottle whilst still hot into clean, sterilised (in oven ) bottles

(I do often use whiskey bottles for the lemon cordial. I used to ejoy a few drams but have lightened up. These days my brother supplies the empty bottles. He's very enthusiastic about the need to help me out there. I will have to have a dram at new year - Can't break that tradition.)

Fiona - (cut and paste from today's easy p.2) Judy said "a griddle." Is that an Americanism? A griddle is a flat cooking pan for making pancakes. So, when you said pancake riddle, she put the g on the front of riddle and gave you griddle, the pan for frying up a pancake.
So, what do you call the pan? google images for griddle and tell me what you call it, please.
Oh, and happy pancake day.
