Thank you Cynthia for your kind words of comfort. My Dad was ready to go as he hated knowing that he was losing his memory and felt that he was a burden to us at least now he is at peace.

Shiela, CynB, Glinda - Anyone have a comment to launch discussion on Pride & Prejudice? It's the most popular and thus is often the doorway into the whole body of JA's work. However, when people read JA it often ceases to be their favorite. So, what's up with P&P? Can you remember the first time you read it or saw it on video? Has the story "grown on you" in any way?

Cynthia, I'm so glad you are well on the road to recovery. I had a really bad cold over Christmas - took a whole week to recuperate from it. What a shame as all I could do was lie around and relax.

Hope you are feeling better, dear one! Especially with the big weekend of celebration coming up. Plus, it sucks to be sick in the summer - much better when you are bundled up in the winter.

Hi Cynthia. Happy Australia Day! I visited the website you gave a link to on the easy page today. I loved it! We visited Australia last year and found you Australians to be so friendly and resilient. I purchased several books while in Australia, including "No One Ever Told Me" and "Follow the Rabbit Proof Fence" (I think I have the titles right - my books are upstairs so I can't look right now) so I could learn more about the Australian people, both the Aboriginal and the settlers. Anyway, again, Happy Australia Day!

Actually, if you haven't noticed, I put the novels in the approximate* order they were written (*she wrote and rewrote over the years).
Forgive me if I'm long winded in today's post, but I've gotten the idea to make a JA literature course for my homeschooling friends's teens, so some of what I'm posting I'm posting so I can get at it later.
