Hello Sue , i am fine thank you , and the fighting is still on , between the Lebanese Army and some terrorists who attacked the army and slaughtered ten of very young soldiers ten days ago , they don't want to surrender , so the army had to attack them back .It is happening in the north of the country , where the terrorists are hiding in one of the Palestinien camps . It is very tough now for more than twenty four hours , i think it is going near the end . Anyway thank you for thinking of me

Hi Sue, thanks for the good wishes for my forthcoming trip to Canada. I have been over there twice before and have loved it both times. This holiday will be the first time, in Canada, for my husband and youngest daughter. I am looking forward to showing them places our older two (my kids) went to the last time we visited.

Sue - thanks for sending me to your pictures. I liked those from Hawaii also. Sounds like your health runs about the way mine does. I am going to the doctor tomorrow to check on my knee - we are talking about knee replacement, just don't know when yet. It is really bothering me right now at night.
My dad has a very restricted ureter - he went in for a regular doctor's visit, but was told he would have probably been in the emergency room within a few days. He just wants to get a second opinion before surgery, but can't get an appointment before next week (8 or 9 days). We will probably wait until the last minute to see what the doctors say. He had double heart-valve replacement about 3 years ago, and at almost 84, it is just a little dicey for any surgery. We will probably go ahead and take the cruise, but I will let you know. As you say, it CAN be rescheduled, and my parents will obviously be rescheduling theirs.

Hi Sue - Thanks for your visit. The party is over! It did go well, except it rained alllll day! We had a tent. We put the food in the garage where we could plug things in. We also used our Gazebo and we have a carport. Most people showed up despite the weather. Our hot food was all gone! We had a lot of salads and they were half gone. So we did okay. I am glad we didn't have a lot of left overs.

I think we are getting more and more hummers. I have two 2-cup feeders hanging on my back deck and they were empty in two days last week. They are so funny to watch. (They don't play well with others.) We also have a 2-cup feeder hanging on the front deck. They are sure entertaining!

hi sue
i've been wondering how the wether has been affecting th agricultural areas of canada and the us. it has been really grim here for a while. we have had a lovely beginning to winter with gentle soaking rain - the first i can remember in years. we all hope it will be wet for the rest of the winter and start to replenish some ground water. our leaders seem to have the same view about weather and climate change - i wonder if they really understand how it affects people and eventually the 'all important' economy!
i am really looking forward to the middle of June when the days start to get that little bit longer! i guess you are heading into your summer.
hope you get some lovely rain to cheer up your garden!

Sue,

Sorry that I'm so slow in responding, I've been out-of-pocket since Memorial Day.

Concerning your question about Alaska, all 19 of us flew into Anchorage. We rode the train down to Seward, then north to Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali, and Fairbanks. Five of us then flew up to Barrow for the day and four others rode up the haul road to the Arctic Circle. Once back in Anchorage, we rented a van and drove every paved highway in the state, except the direct route between Anchorage and Fairbanks that parallels the railroad. We were gone a total of two weeks. I still consider it the best vacation I've ever had.

Hello Sue , how nice of you to ask about me , i am fine , but the coditions in the country are the same , if not worse , we had 5 explosions in different places in Beirut in 14 days . Sme of them i heard their sounds . Thank God that only one woman died , but many people were wounded , and of course ,many many house and buildings were torn 'if i can use the word '.I don't know if i told you before about my family , i have three boys , the oldest is a civil engineer and working and living in the LA , he is 26 years old ,the second will graduate with a BS compyter science , next month , he is 24 Y , the youngest is 22 Y , is a Mechanical engineer and working in Beirut , he was always in school and university the youngest in his class . They are nice boys , i had a hard time in raising them , but Kathy says that there is a place for the mother of boys in heaven .I don't really mind i had my prize now being their mother . Sue thank you for visiting and asking and thinking of me you are so sweet as most of Sodukoland friends .

Hi Sue. In re; Stock the Park Group invite. If you want to join the group and post your photo there, click on the name of the group in blue font. That will take you to the group's page.
Look for the '>>Join this Group?' sign.
Click on that.
Two things might happen

or
2nd. You might be asked to send your request in writing in which case they will provide with the message window.

I know it sounds complicated, but is not. If you check in my profile you will see that I belong to a number of groups. If it was difficult, I would have never! Remember, I find it amazing that Angie has so many smilies.

thanks for the visit a few days ago. sorry i didnt answer sooner. i've had my nose in a book and just had to finish it. (actually i read about a book a day, so i've finished 2 in the last 3 days) - quite the thrillers.

sounds like you had a great time in europe and quite a long time. that had to be wonderful. how did you travel between countries? we'd like to go to italy next spring and visit 3 or 4 cities. we'd like to travel by train, but may rent a car instead. just haven't had to make that decision yet. i'm looking at what to see and trying to plan that part of the trip right now. any suggestions?

hi Sue. another former Navy wife? there seem to be lots of us on this site.

i like all kinds of books - mystery, suspense, a little 'smut' (not too descriptive, please - some people call them romance novels - lol) and biographies - i usually find an author i like, then read all the books he/she has written, then move on to another author. i finished nicholas sparks' books and now i'm almost finished with iris johansen's books. they both are great. i also just finished Jean Lafitte's bio, since we're in the area he was. i try to read books set in the place we are, since we used to move around a lot for Bob's job. now the job just takes him to LA and NC. so i especially enjoyed Lafitte and N.sparks, since they were that area. i also have read up on the pirates, since we were at the outer banks, NC. that was interesting. there are still some places on okracoke island with blackbeard's name. blackbeard is said to be haunting charleston, SC also. but i don't limit myself to just books set where we are. i just love them all (books are friends). i did learn something in college lit class that has stuck with me and that was if a book doesn't capture my attention by page 50 or so - i don't have to finish it. there are way too many books to read. Guess i should tell you i've read Pride and Prejudice almost 10 times and Hamlet several also.

Got any recommendations?
if you'd rather email me, i'm at scurry37@yahoo.com.

i'll cover the trip next visit. lol

Good Morning Sue - I visited your Flickr site this morning and it was so much fun! Your pictures are fannnntastic! I saw places I probably will never go. Thank you, so much, for sharing your pictures with us! Your sun room is very beautiful. Do you get to enjoy it in the winter? I was thinking of you this morning as I was cooking sugar water for my hummers. (I think you have more than I have.) I feel like I am forever refilling feeders! Have a great day!

Hello Sue; thank you for stopping by my page. I become very friendly with insects in the summertime.
Loop Road and the Everglades are filled with different types of butterflies, dragonflies; deer flies, horseflies, common and other assorted sized flies; mosquitoes, bees, beetles, wasps, lubber grasshoppers, you name it you will find it there. I wish I had more time to spend there - and faster reflexes - to be able to 'capture' all the different insects.
Every season brings me different 'models' Hope you enjoy seeing them in my pages.
Best regards.

Hi Sue
Thanks for popping by. We're all well thanks, though had Toria home for 2 days this week with an ear infection (seems to be getting better now)
I had a look through your flickr. You really have some great shots. The Gibraltar ones brought back memories as I spent 2 weeks there when I was a Venture Scout (20 years ago now!!!)
The camper van is currently in a garage and off the road, as I can't use it for the school run (not enough seat belts), and can't afford 2 vehicles on the road, but hopefully get her back out soon. Take care xx

We have no idea where the old home place is. After he graduated hi school in Chanute he went off to college, got married and moved on. His sister married into a farm north of Erie. That's were we always went to visit her family. Only went by the Galesburg cemetary one time so he could pay a last visit.

Hi Sue. We had a great Frank Lloyd Wright building here in Ottawa, the Daly building, but it did not get similar treatment. It was torn down and there is now a condo coplex with a reataurant and shopping area on the ground floor where it once stood. Glad to see you are protecting heritage in Oklahoma.

Hi Sue, and so nice that you dropped by for a visit. Arthur is doing very well now and hopefully we won't have to deal with another scare like that again. (Fingers crossed that his 'preventive' cat food will actually prevent the condition from recurring ...)
FYI, the rug, which is in my home office, is from the Kathy Ireland collection--great quality and quite well-priced! I'm dropping off some flowers to brighten your table. Have a wonderful day!

Gday Sue, thanks for popping in to look at my pics and your kind words about my family.
In the days BC(Before Computer), I used to read a lot. Often I would have more than one book on the go at a time! As most of mine are hand-me-ons I read anything, thrillers, love stories, costume dramas heck I'd read the phonebook if there was nothing else!
Brought along a bottle of bubbly and a plate of nibbles to enjoy when you next get the chance to sit down and have a good read.

Hello, Sue!
Thank you for compliments on my pictures.
And cookies are just yammy. I couldn't resist them.
I love to take pictures of flowers -- they do not run or fly away while you pointing your camera.
About cats, it isn't mine, unfortunately -- it is not easy to keep them here. When we lived in NY we had one. So it is just pictures of cats that I like, that showed theirs nature.
It is picture of wonderful house. Just wonder is it museum now or somebody is actually lives there?
And as my gift to your virtual home I brought a dozen of freshly baked bagels. (In a memory of my life in NY )

Hello, Sue!
Thank you for quick response to my question.
This house look too small for petroleum tycoon. Sure at that times it was different demands even between riches.
Looked at your pictures, that you posted on your page. They are gorgeous!
And all that kind of flowers... You have a very pretty backyard. My mom too used to have peons near her summer house. I still remember how wonderful they are smell, when you put them in the vase. No need for air freshener.
