Hi Sue - Thanks for your visit. I was in Florida for 7 weeks this past winter with my parents. I missed the Sudoku group in Punta Gorda by a matter of a few weeks. My mom and dad live about 10 miles south of there. I was so disappointed. It was a chance to meet Kathy and them in person. I hope your back is doing better now.

Hi Sue! Thanks for checking in on my page to ask about Wendy. The sinus surgery went okay, but she said recovery from that was tougher than after her three c-sections! We went to her follow up appt. today, & they removed two big splints from INSIDE her nose. That was awfully painful. The grandsons have just about worn us out. We are leaving very early tomorrow to drive to Daytona Beach for Rob's tennis team playoffs. Then on Sun. we'll head back north to Fripp Island for a week of peace & quiet at the beach house all by ourselves!! LOVE your beautiful flower photos!! And was that shot of the pileated woodpecker taken in your yard? Wow!

Hi Sue, Thanks for stopping by my page. What a beautiful spider Orchid! I take it you love Elvis, thanks for sharing that one. Did you see the Elvis (recorded) Celine Dion duet on American Idol? I have been trying to find a copy of it. Yuma is a good place to be 'from'. We enjoy the winters there and live out in the Foothills development. It has really grown in just the 6 years we have been going down there.

Hi Sue, that's an amazing orchid. Thanks for visiting my page and bringing some flowers. I'd like to leave you a bottle of the local apple wine (best diluted with sparkling water to have as a long drink in summer). I'm in Frankfurt, and one of the tourist attractions is the 'apple wine tram', which takes about an hour to go round the circuit, during which time you can enjoy some apple wine and a bag of pretzels. Enjoy.

What a beautiful orchid! Thanks, Sue, for visiting my home page and for sending along the lovely iris. We've got rhododendrons blooming in the back yard now, and within a month the peonies should be out in full force. I'm bringing you a bottle of Niagara ice wine to share with friends for dessert. Being a techno-idiot, I haven't yet mastered all the fine points with my home page, but I'm hoping to get the pictures and music going soon. I'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, have a wonderful week and spend time with people you care about.

Hi Sue, thanks for the irises. your orchid is beautiful. i'm shopping for my first orchid plant. any suggestions? will they travel well? i will need to move it periodically when we move back and forth between LA/NC...

hubby was in the Navy only 6 years. we were married in san diego (both are from Indiana), then moved to newport, RI and stayed there the remainder. he was on 2 ships in newport. lots of cruises - several med cruises, then lots of short ones when not gone to the med....we managed to have 2 sons and stay together. i worked at the navy law center, until baby #2 came along..loved it.

we will be moving again this weekend back to LA, so if i'm not on next week, that's the scoop..
chat soon.
visit again anytime!

Sue, MIL was running a fever (bit over 102), so I took her in - diagnosed with urinary tract infection. Just as they were going to release her (about 10 Tues. eve), they found an elevated enzyme level in her liver. Decided to keep her overnight - we finally got a room about 2 a.m.
Next morning they decided to put her on IV antibiotics, so she ended up staying until today.
Anyway, it has been an adventure. Probably a good thing they didn't figure out that I don't really have legal rights to be making any decisions for her! Otherwise, my brother-in-law would have had to drive in from Dallas.
Never a dull moment!

Hi Sue
Thank you so much for dropping in. I'm sorry that I was busy with the babies and didn't have much time to talk. I love your photos of all the flowers - they are so beautifully taken. I had an old boyfriend whose father grew orchids like those and was lucky enough to have been given one. My parents just grew the standard ones. I don't grow any as I have a black thumb! Stop by again when you have a chance - I have more photos of my beautiful brood up on Flickr. Have a great day.

Sue, Thank you for the visit and the lovely bunch of irises. My Nana always had hundreds surrounding her house when I was a child, so they are really special to me. I also love your spider orchid. I only wish I had inherited the green thumb. Unfortunately, if it's not a cactus or fairly self-sustaining, plants don't last too long in my house!

Hi Sue! We just got back from our second long trip of the year to NC & SC with a weekend at Daytona in between. Lots of driving! Am way behind on Sudoku comments & will never have time to catch up on Archives. Noticed somewhere you said you were super busy. Doing what?? See our list of former Navy wives is growing! Have you made any more travel plans for this year? While Rob & I were at Fripp Isl. we made a side trip one day to a nice little town called Walterboro. They had a BUNCH of good antique shops there. Rob found something HE's always wanted - an old ship's wheel. I got one really nice open salt at a good price & a very pretty old lamp for only $12!! We'll be going back there on future SC trips!
