Mama, What good news that the surgery was a success! Hope the recovery is speedy and pain free. After my husband's surgery, he would use his cell phone in the bedroom to call the house phone. When I'd answer, I'd hear his dulcet tones requesting something! Water, pain meds, food, sometimes he just wanted company. Worked like a charm. You might want to try it
Don't forget to take care of yourself too. Get plenty of rest. I suspect you're going to need it!

Hello Mamacita - I have had you on my mind, so I decided to stop in! How is your husband recovering? My husband has been through two surgeries for his back since we have been married. It isn't fun, but the second surgery went so much better than the first. He was home the next day and recovery was much faster. He was so relieved to be out of pain also! Maybe your weather will hold out and you and him can enjoy a little "outside time." You both are in my prayers!

Mamacita, I'm just catching up on all the news only to discover that Sully's had back surgery. I see from the comments that all has gone well and you must be so grateful and relieved. I will keep you and your family in my prayers and hope that Sully is blessed with swift and painless healing and that you'll be enjoying life to the fullest soon.

In the "Garden of Life" a snake beguiled Eve and she in turn lead Adam astray. They had to leave the Garden. Before Eve left she put a sign up: "Watch Out for Snake in the Tree!" We need to remember this and not be beguiled by those who will lead us astray.

Hi Mamacita,
I have been too overwhelmed with a move that didn't work to chat lately, so I didn't know what you and Sully had been going through. But I caught your comment today and wanted to share my best wishes to you BOTH. Glad he's home, doing well, but do feel entitled to ask for help and to take breaks as you need them. You sound like you have a good sense of humor (well, we already know you have that--glad it's still intact), and a good sense of balance between Sully's needs and yours. Just want to affirm the Mamacita part of it.

Hi Mamacita! Happy to hear everything is going well. My hubby said the very worst thing after his surgery was that I had to drive him everywhere! He absolutely HATED that. I personally believe it helped him recover much more quickly! lol
Seriously, please get as much rest as you can. It is so easy to get overwhelmed. Get that beautiful family of yours busy! Take care.

Hi Mamacita! I've been thinking of you. (Sorry about PSU's loss today). Just wanted to stop by with some cyber hugs for you & Sully
Glad to read that he is on the mend & you are using your support system to allow yourself a break from nurse duty. I've known for a long time that you are a wise lady!
God bless you both.

Mamacita - hope all is going well with Sully's recovery. Haven't heard from you for a couple of days, so assume that "no news is good news". I know he's keeping you busy! But that's what we're here for, isn't it? To love and care for ones spouse in sickness and in health! Let's hope the "health" part is next on the agenda! xxx

Dear Mamacita, thank you for taking the time to get to know my mother a little and as usual, for knowing just the right thing to say to bring me comfort. It has been a most emotional time, but oh the memories! Even at its darkest, I felt strengthened by the support of my friends from near and far, as I cared for mom in her final hours, snuggled in bed with her and made sure she wasn't alone and afraid. Letting her go was difficult but I so wanted her journey to be peaceful so I told her to listen for her husband's voice calling her home. I'm sure they're together again and secure in God's kingdom.
I hope for a speedy, full recovery for your dear Sully and I hope you have other loved ones who are also seeing that you're well looked after, too.
Bless you for thinking of me when you clearly have so much on your mind as well. (And my mother raised three teachers, and now her two grandchildren teach as well ...)

Dear Mamacita. You are always so kind and caring to everyone. Thanks you so much for your lovely wishes this morning regarding my daughter's operation. I am happy to say I have heard from her doctor and it all went very well. She is fine and sleeping it all off in Recovery at the moment, and he said he will see her tomorrow and she may be well enough for discharge. I am so happy for her and hope that it opens a whole new world for her. I have given a bit more of a story about it all on My Page. Cheers and thanks, Kate from Deni (Tree Sheila).

Thanks for the update in SA, glad to know Sully's doing well. Please take care of yourself and use that network as much as you can. You need time to recharge your batteries every now and then, that half day or couple of hours where you don't have to be IT.

Hope everything is going well & Sully is doing his rehab exercise (following instructions to the hilt with no slipping or skipping). My dad had problems because he didn't follow the instructions, while my mom had a mirraculous recovery - and methodically did what she was instructed and still is.
Give yourself a laugh today - check out my Utube. BTW Scotty is the name of the lead singer of BBVD.
Lord be with both of you, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Mamacita. Just popped by to say I really agree with your advice to Gren today about the loss of her dear friend Chloe. But what on earth did Jenn from SA say that you and others disagreed with?
Seem to have missed a posting someone.

My favorite song by BBVD is "Minnie the Moocher". It is ashame that there is not a good video of them performing that song. I may use an old cartoon video of it on my UTube this weekend, if it is still around.
You can count on my continued prayers for the both of you.

Hi Mamacita, Thanks for the concern for my back problems. I have had a few aches and pains for a few years and just blamed it on lifting grandchildren etc. but it hit me big time a few weeks ago and I could hardly walk. Osteoarthritis has cased some deterioration and resulted in some spondylitis where one disc is out almost 1/2 inch. Narrowing the spinal canal and pinching a nerve. Just trying to get rid of the constant ache and to be able to walk a short distance without almost collapsing from the pain. Have only had two sessions of acupuncture and stretching so will be interesting to see how it all goes. Otherwise I am in good health and quite a bit younger than Sully (about 15 years) so I will do what is necessary to maintain a good life style for whatever time God grants me.
Hope Sully continues to improve and that his lifestyle will now be much better for having the operation.

Good morning, Mamacita!
Thanks for your kind message! Our get-together with Kathy and Rob was fantastic! Jaime and I had them over for dinner Friday night (along with a couple of other friends of ours), we played tennis Saturday morning (Kathy & Rob beat my partner Billy and me 2 sets to 1 - rats!), then we went to a Brunswick Stew Tasting in the town of Brunswick, just across the causeway from St. Simons, browsed an arts and crafts show on the island, had dinner at a seafood restaurant and then collapsed! Kathy and Rob are going to take Ebony for a romp on the beach at Jekyll Island this morning before heading north to their Fripp Island home. We all had a wonderful time. It seemed like we'd known them forever, and we will definitely get together again! I hope to have the privilege of meeting you and Sully sometime, too!
Cheers!

G'day Mamacita. I had to send a message to Bean and while I was there I saw your last message to her just above mine. Do you know that all this time I thought PA was short for Pennsylvania, and now I find you are in Philadelphia !! Oh woe is me! How are we poor Aussies ever going to learn all this stuff? Maybe we could get King Gath to give us an extra line in our user details so we can all be a bit more specific. Whatcha think?

G'day Mama again. Thanks for taking the time out to explain the "PA" to me. Now I get it! Maybe I should have just looked at a map instead of showing my ignorance.
Speaking of Liz, she is just fine, thankyou. Today she is off to have the little dressing removed, just at her own doctor, and in a week's time it's off to Melbourne again to have the big Turning On of the device!! That will be so exciting for her!! Then she has to have weekly visits for about 6 weeks so they can fine-tune everything and make it all as good as it can be for her. Right now she is in great spirits and is completely back to her normal routine. She's just great.

Say a prayer for me, my cousin died this afternoon, & his wife called and asked me to notify my mom (his aunt) & his niece & nephew. She didn't really want to talk to anyone, quite yet, but knew they needed to be told. They had moved to Oregon about 4 years ago. So, I'm driving up (125 mi) tomorrow morning to be with her and her son (mentally retarded) and assist as needed. Say a prayer for George his wife & son and a prayer for a safe trip for me. Thanks and God bless you.
