One of my better attempts posing with a statue.  All I can say is that it's lucky for anybody seeing it that there's no audio.

Youtube- Julian Bream and John Williams playing my favorite piece of music, Claire de Lune, by Debussy.

It's hard to tell which one was worse, his playing or my voice.

Ok, as they say in Far Hills, NJ, "For the good of the game", I've got an old shipmate in Madisonville, Ky. I could go visit. He plays golf too. That should be good for at least a week or as long as the bourbon holds out. 40 years ago, that wouldn't be too long, but now? Could be long enough for you to get the attention of Homeland Security.

For general drinkin' squeezins, I'm partial to Weller. But for easy sippin' with a good cigar it has to be Elija Craig. Two weeks between the two of us sounds like a couple of cases each.

What was it that the lost Irishman told Gus as he tossed the empty bottle of whisky over his shoulder? "I'm packed".

Sounds like you'll need extra room. I'll leave the key to the pasture gate under the doormat at the back door. The pasture gate is about a mile south and a quarter east on 182nd Rd east of the river cutoff. That will give you another 160 acres to spread out on. You've got a 2 acre stock tank and 18 acres of heavy timber as well, the rest is tall grass and brome and 28 acres of grain sorghum. The law of the West prevails; leave the gate the way you find it. The herd bull is an old pussycat, don't worry about him. It's the cows with calves you gotta watch out for. Have fun!

Jeb had just over 100 posts on his site before the party began. It is now over 250 posts. Thanks for putting the party together - Jeb will be hours cleaning up when he gets home & reading about some of it in the Sudoku News for sure.

Hi Keith, We are now out of Reno and parked in Portola. We will have breakfast with friends (an old work buddy) tomorrow morning and head for home. Should make it home Mon. night. Friday looks good for me unless something unforeseen comes up. We are getting some trees on Thurs so not sure if I will still be involved with the planting or not and we have a lot to do as we leave for Yuma on Oct. 11. We stop in Redding for a motorcycle rally and then another in Tucson AZ before getting to Yuma near the end of Oct. sounds complicated. I'm already tired.....

Weigh in report for week 38, I stayed the same this week. I suspect I didn't go down because I let myself drink beer the first few days of the week, since I'd enjoyed it so much on the boat.

Do you know Keith I think that is just how it goes isn't it. As I get older I am constantly out meeting people for lunch/dinner it gets nigh on impossible to control my food and drink intake... I keep thinking I would rather have my friends around me than a glass of water. Keep going strong stay positive and the weight will drop off x

Thanks for the encouragement and heads-up about the stroke rehab. I know my mom will need lots of positive feedback and coaxing, but her attitude is good so I'm hoping that she won't get discouraged. I'm trying to stay upbeat and rested and not think about whether she'll be able to return home or whether she'll have a more serious stroke down the road. One day at a time, and I'll be fine!

Dear Keith, thanks so much for the compliment on the butterfly - my husband took that pic probably a year ago. I couldn't upload it as we took it, the website requires very very small pics. Here's my husband's blog, he has a number of his pics posted there: http://blog.myspace.com/ansky23456.

Feel free to send him a note if you'd like a jpg of the original pic of the butterfly!

Thanks-Terri

I told anu that her pet is welcome to stay. I've got the extension agent out doing an analysis on the pet's regular contributions to the topsoil. The question at hand is; is it more valuable where it lies increasing the value of spring hay or as a commodity to be composted, packaged and sold?

Keith, I really hope you read this pretty soon. There's a party over at Rolanda's and there's all these women and just me. I could use a little backup. Judy has already started in on me.

Hi Keith - This looks like a very interesting place to visit. We had a museum here in the Detroit area burned down several years ago. It was a great loss. The building was an old building built with logs instead of I-beams. It was called the Yankee Air Museum. It was a great place to see old airplanes that were being restored. When we went, we were allowed to get right up next to them. It sure made one appreciate what our fellows went through during the wars. Another great place to visit here in Michigan is the Kalamazoo Air Zoo over in Kalamazoo. (West Side of state) We have a son who has his FAA license in Airframe and Powerplant. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Well stated on Greg's Forum page, Keith. About all I did at Rolanda's was introduce the pet moose that nobody brought to the party on my page. There was certainly room for it.

KEITH, do wish I lived close enough to make your meetings, but toranto is a LOOONG way from me . I hope you do have some Canadians able to make the meet. Meeting sudoku friends would have to be fun! Have a great trip, and looking forward to seeing your photos when you return.

Hi, Keith!
Thanks for organizing Eastern Canadian get-togethers. I hope there will be Sudokuaholics or just plain Sudoku players who will be able to meet up with you. I have not yet been to Canada, unless you count riding over a little bit of it on the White Pass & Yukon railroad trip from our cruise last May. Unfortunately, IL is just a bit too far for lunch. Maybe if you make it to IL or hubby & I make it to CA.

Bonjour Keith! It would be nice to go up to Montreal, it's about 3 hours north of me, but alas there are two problems. One is that my daughter's parents' weekend is at the same time, and the other, is that I no longer have a current passport. I hope you have a great time visiting the area. Make sure you see Niagra Falls when you're in Toronto. I haven't been to either place in ages. Take care and have fun!

Weigh in report for week 40: I stayed the same. Since we were traveling (again) last Monday, I missed that weigh in. Considering that I've been drinking beer, not being very careful about what I eat, and my exercise has been sporadic, I'm pleased that I stayed the same. Guess I'm on break from the program. I'd rather I wasn't, but there it is.

Hi Keith. I would love to be able to make it to the SA meeting - the location is less than 30 minutes from my home. Unfortunately I still have 3 or 4 years before retirement - I hate it when my job gets in the way of my life But I'm seriously considering taking a vacation day on the 22nd - I'll let you know by this Thursday.

Oh, dear, I think you may already be in Canada, so don't know if you'll get this message. Unfort. I won't be able to attend the SA mtg in Toronto -- I leave tomorrow morning for SC where Sudokuists Kathy and Rob are picking me up at the airport and I'm spending a week with them on Fripp Island. Have a great time in Toronto -- I'm so disappointed that I won't be able to meet you. I must make it out to CA one of these days; I have cousins in north CA. Looking forward to hearing about your Canadian adventure. Cheers!

You passed by less than 1 mile from my condo - too bad I was at work & didn't see you wave. I'm glad you're enjoying it here and hope you manage to include Toronto in your Nova Scotia trip, although that would be quite the detour. Note that the "Toronto" airport is actually in Mississauga, ...

Hi Keith! Whenever you read this - HOME!! I'll be anxious to hear about & see some photos of your sudokuist meetings in Canada. You may have met more than I have by now. My count is up to 7 - how about you? Please check my Flickr page for some new photos of Jane from St. Simons & Celia from Toronto. Celia was sorry she wasn't in Toronto when you were! I'm home alone til Tuesday (Rob's up in NC) & enjoying "the calm before the storm". More company coming on Nov. 3 - a friend from Switzerland followed by daughter #2 & her family two days later. It will be busy & crowded here! I will look for your return. Hope you had a great trip.

Weigh in report for week 43, I gained 9 pounds since my last weigh in three weeks ago. I spent the whole 3 weeks traveling, having a wonderful time, and made no attempt to control my eating ... just enjoyed myself. I'm glad I didn't gain more. We're through traveling for a while, and I intend to get serious about weight loss again now that we'll be home for some time.

Gday Keith and home. Now, put those suitcases away and forget where. You and Lynne need to stay home for a while! I'm sure there's plenty to do in the garden before winter arrives.
I'm so glad you had a good time in Canada. I will check out your pics because I am travelling vicariously through you!

Welcome back Keith...sounds like you had a wonderful holiday...
Have you heard of Nick Drake? he died in the 70's - very young, but I've had a hell of a time trying to find a good recording of one my all time favourites of his - the cello song, see if you like it...x
