Thanks Anne, for posting on my page to tell me that the photo on the tough of July 25, was your daughter next to the statue.I love doing these puzzles, and it's even better when we have an explanation of who it is, and where it was taken, and of course who is the photographer.

Nothing stays the same. I'll paste Sue's comment here, just in case you didn't notice it: 'Oklahoma has the most miles of the original Route 66. Have done Route 66 several times, going through the small towns is fun.' Getting off the freeway and driving through the virtual ghost towns along 66 is something Lynne and I want to do some time. Hope your son enjoys it.

Anne, I've just returned home from celebrating my birthday/hubby's birthday and our 30th--we sailed on the Royal Clipper and had a ball. Internet connections on the ship weren't great so I couldn't respond without eating up tons of Internet time. I was so touched to receive your good wishes and your thoughtfulness made my day that much more special.

I went to Europe for 5 glorious weeks in 2010, and am itching to get back for another look.

for the Birthday Greetings and well wishes. Friday is the big day for my release. I hope to sneek out today for a taste of some good food and private birthday celebration. I never was a 'Heart Healthy' person, but in a rehab center, you would think that they would be overly so - not the case. The other day I snook out to get a Baked Halibut sandwich (not fried).

further to the Wattle Park debate - there is a Park in Wattle Park in the South Australian suburb of that name, but a very small one.
A friend has just given me 3 Kangaroo Paws which I've planted in a spot where nothing else has grown, if these can survive in WA I hope they can survive near my post box.
While I'm here, is there a way of viewing comments in reverse order, ie latest first?

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. Mrs S and I have been away for a fortnight in the sun on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. We try and do that each year to get a break from the Tasmanian winter which actually hasn’t been too bad this year.
The weather was wonderful with no rain and maximums of about 25C (78F) each day. We also visited friends and generally had a great time.
Sorry, I did not respond earlier but I did not get any alerts that I had received messages but I really appreciate your message.

Hi Anne! Just wondering if you found out what that red parrot on today's 4X4Hard sudoku was?
In case you haven't here it is:
Platycercus icterotis, Western Rosella, Psittacidae, Psittaciformes
aka Yellow cheeked Parrott & Stanly Rosella.
The only Rosella to have yellow cheek patches and it is only found in the south-west of Western Australia.
