Victoria,
I really appreciated all your information today about the old 'adages'. I have often wondered about the origins of those otherwise pretty silly-sounding sayings and your information was most illuminating.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Twilight books either Vicki - they are very readable, page turners, certainly, but yes, I feel that Bella is a bit of a pest! I've just started book 3, and hope to find out why she is different in the sense that Edward and the vampires can't read her mind. Also why is she so frightened of Victoria (!) and the Italian gang when she spent the most part of book 2 trying to do herself in! I enjoyed the first book but not so sure about number 2...will keep reading - let me know what you think.

Hi Vicki
Loved your photos - it is something I always mean to do, but am not acamera person. Hopefully will learn when I have a little more time!
Solved my computer problem. Bought a new one and set it up. Whenever anyone in my family asks for the password I say "Don't use my computer!" What they haven't worked out is that that is the password. It is amazing - no-one else touches it without me logging them on, I rarely get virus issues, and it is so nice to just start working on it again without all my settings being changed!
Barooga is on the Murray, in between Albury and Echuca.
Lovely to chat to you.

Hi Victoria (that's my youngest's name)
Surviving okay so far. Eating lots of lean cuisines followed by vanilla ice cream with hot caramel sauce. One cancels out the other.
Harriers are the only recognised breed that don't have a breed standard. They really are just a bigger version of the beagle. There are very few registered as pedigree dogs in Australia as most of them are registered with hunting association especially in NZ. I knew a guy who used to show his in Devonport when I lived there. He got his original dogs from NZ. Very nice dogs but tend to want to keep their nose on the ground when you walk them.
Are you anywhere near Bridgeman Downs as my BIL lives there.Cheers saylz

I've led you astray. They do now have a breed standard. Must have happened fairly recently. Beagles, Harriers and Foxhounds are all fairly similar. Beagles should be about 13 inches tall at the withers, Harriers about 20 inches and Foxhounds about 24 inches.
Cheers again
David

Vicki, I cannot thank you enough for your kindness, it means the world to me.
Bill is at the hospital this morning, he is having another procedure under general anaesthetic, hopefully this will find the problem and fix it. I worry so because he is 80, on his own, and 500 miles away. *sigh*
I will let you know any news when I find out this arvo.
Again, thank you. ♥

Just a quick drop-in to say Bill is home, and doing well. Apparently the doctor was pleased that they didn't find any real issues, nor did they need to do any work other than the exploratory. Here's hoping that's the end of it.

Thank you, I agree entirely, actually I am really starting to look forward to Christmas this year. I am almost done with the pressie shopping, with a lot of help from my eldest daughter, and hubby came along on Tuesday and we almost finished then. Just a few last minute ideas, apart from the food shopping of course.
Had more good news from Bill this morning. I just got off the phone from him and he says he's feeling better than he's felt for ages and ready to face the world.
I am feeling very relieved and relaxed, if you call hanging around the house doing chores relaxing!
Best wishes to you both.

When my chest freezer's innards get too hot they go on strike then work fine again once the temp goes back down, usually because I unblock the vents so the motor doesn't have to work as hard. The freezer's in an enclosed garage space, so it can get pretty hot in there in the summer time. I don't know what kind of conditions your fridge is subject to, but you could try checking to see that the airways are clear and the area is well ventilated?
