Hi again. I just re-read your message and realized you were asking if I would go back to Scotland and see the Tattoo again. Definitely!
As a matter of fact, I would plan the trip around when the Tattoo was being held.

The piper at the memorial was a wonderful idea, Eve. I, too, have requested that from my family. In fact, if they don't honor my request, I have promised to come back and haunt them! :) I'm close to half-Scottish ... but I'd want this even if I weren't!

According to the book "National Audubon Society's Field Guide to Birds" , "The isolated population in Florida is puzzling...Today these birds are separated from their western relatives by more than 100 miles."
According to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission's Website http://www.fws.gov/northflorida/Species-Accounts/Fla-Scrub-Jay-2005.htm
The Florida sub-species of scrub jay is listed as 'threatened' under the ESA. You are right about them being all over out west; they stole doritos from my picnic table at Grand Canyon a few years back.

I don't mind wild bobcats in my yard, they are a very rare sight. I wish I could see a Florida Panther back there- although it would indeed make me a bit nervous. Florida Panthers are a sub-species of Cougar/Puma/Mountain Lion.

Eve,
Didn't get a chance to tell you earlier that I loved your open letter to cats & dogs...but I couldn't let it pass without commenting! Did you write that? I have two cats that try all of those tricks!
(Where is the recipe page?) In answer to your "Bridies" question: I cook them in the regular oven. You could probably make them ahead and warm them up in the microwave, but it might affect the crustiness a bit. I've never tried it because I make enough for one meal only.

Hi, Eve!

I haven't been on site much the past few days because of the Australian Open. I've been taping matches and then watching them the next day, so I can't take a chance of accidently reading about the results of a match I haven't seen yet! I'll be back next week to join the the discussion on the T-shirt, etc.

In the meantime, I have been working on putting together a Sukokuland cookbook - for my own pleasure, but will be more than happy to share with others when it's done. In going over the recipes, I noticed there was a typo in your recipe for SWISS TURKEY HAM BAKE. You say to put the ingredients in a "1/2 qt. casserole". Did you mean "2 1/2 quart by any chance?

Thanks!
Jane

Hi, Eve!

I, too, have been working on a family cookbook. Actually, I finished it a few years ago but keep adding to it. I did mine on the computer (one recipe per page so that I can print out a copy to take to the grocery store). I also printed out all the recipes and put them in a binder. And I put the cookbook on CD as a backup. Actually, I made several CDs so that I could send copies to my nieces.

I'm almost through with the Sudoku cookbook, which I am naming "Sudokooks". Now I have to figure out how to reproduce it. I was going to convert the pages to gif via Paint, and post them on my page so that anyone who wanted could print them out, but the quality of the print-out is not too good. Do you have any suggestions? wish I could post Word documents.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Jane

Hi Eve,
I really do think that you are mistaken about the misforunes being through my pause in my writing about sheep. How can I write about sheep while my main computer is crashed and I am having problems with its prompt repair; along with the other concurrent problems? I think the opposire - that the obstructions are designed to prevent my creative work by people acting through some kind of perverse dogma. I have at least managed to rescue the sheep verses lost on My Page when Sudokuland crashed - they are reposted there.

Eve: The logos are great. In my opinion the second one (as is now) is the best. The information is th basic, is clear; bold and direct.

for the Swan Song for my swan!
I was so proud of myself for finally figuring out how to get my own avatar. Is that considered the rite of passage into Sudokuland for non-computer geeks? (Now all I have to do is figure out what Flickr is! I'm a 'learn as you go' person!)
Anyway...the song/singer/voice was gorgeous!

Eve, that was dreadful! I've just read your message on my page, I'm so sorry for you! Uploading photos takes such a long time. I can't listen to the "Swan" because no sound comes out of my computer! Someone's stolen it's tongue or something & my husband doesn't need sound! It might get a new voice or I might get a computer of my own one day, but he is very busy! Anyway I have it on CD so know what you're talking about. It is very beautiful!

Hi Eve:
The design I like best is not the butterfly one. It is the more simple one with the world in an curvy, blue diamond shape; and with "Sudokuland" and then the site address diagonal to the top-left and the bottom-right of that modified diamond. It omits any small detailed bits, which I think if anything, detract from the essential message.

Eve, I enjoyed the video, but The Mummers Dance is not quite the same as our Mummers Strut. This was a tamer, more..shall we say....'refined' dance than what we see on Broad Street in Philly every year..lol. I agree with you about Loreena's voice...its hauntingly lovely.

Eve, I have not been able to post on the forum page for some reason.
I know that Greg posed a few questions about the logo, t-shirt, etc.
"Sudokuland" seemed to be taken. How about "Sudokulamb"??? Australia has sheep, right? (Or is my spotty knowledge of all things Australian showing?)

Hi, Eve!

If you haven't already posted the new pie recipes, please do! I'll update the cookbook March 1, so the more recipes the merrier!

Unfortunately, since I started my no flour/no sugar diet, I won't be able to sample your pies for awhile. I do allow myself one "cheating" day a week, but I can only have one of the two "bad" ingredients on that day, and pies have both! Of course, I can use Splenda in place of the sugar in most cases, so maybe I'll get a chance to sample your recipes in the not-too-distant future! Anyway, thanks for contributing.

Eve, Thank you so much for stopping by my page. I made a promise to my Dad in his deathbed and I intend to keep that promise. Mom will be taken care of until she goes to Him. Her hair gets colored once a month and her nails get done also. I cannot longer take her to the hairdresser in a weekly basis as I used to do until a few years ago; so I've learned to cut her hair. She looks pretty spiffy if you ask me.

Eve my friend...thanks for keeping Cleo up until I was able to get here. The lady is fantastic!!!
I also enjoyed the links and the thought struck me that in the Muppet's video, she looks somewhat like our Sudukoland Billy....I'm unsure if its the smile or what, but in some of the bar tour pictures on Angie or Rosemary's page(I Think), there are pictures that seem similar to me...if you get a chance check it out and let me know what you think....

Eve - - thanks for the chuckle - I did make a snowman last week - but I couldn't lift him up - so he's laying on his back -- a little bunny jumped up on him and tried to eat one of his orange eyes. The sun is out today and the snow is full of diamonds today. Enjoy your day, Mary -- oh, and of course, Have a Happy Valentine's day also.

Deride:
1 : to laugh at contemptuously
2 : to subject to usually bitter or contemptuous ridicule

Please choose your words more carefully.

The above comment was further to yours about 'the Fly in the Soup' poem in My Gallery.Your response there raises a lot of questions. I have another poem written that proposes that doubt about these issues is the truly divine ingredient, as uncertainty generates human enquiry.
