The fruit stands nearby are already advertising fresh strawberries, so I may have to pick up some to try out your recipe since your will be gone in a flash!

Hi, Eve! Thanks for sending me the rest of the Pineapple pie recipe. It will go in the next edition of the cookbook. I will have to try your puff pastry recipe. The recipe I use is a traditional French recipe that requires three days to make. The detrempe has to be refrigerated overnight - twice! And when working with it the second day, the butter and detrempe have to be of the same temperature and texture - which means I'm constantly having to make adjustments - either allowing the detrempe to sit at room temperature to soften or chilling the butter to harden. It is a long, painstaking process, so I don't make it very often!!!

Eve, good for her for having the guts to say "enough is enough"! I'm not sure I would even give a second chance.
Children who experience that trauma during their formative years surely must carry it through out their lives. I expect committment issues could be a result. Bless the family members who step in, either physically or to support.

Eve,
When you passing through I was in Portland, so didn't try to hook up for for lunch when you made your Trader Joe's stops. Any chance we could meet in the future?

I'm in Denver for a week in April, from about the 11th, and then I go to Israel 05/21. Get to see my kids -- yea! If you want to try to put something together -- just us girls and TJ's or something bigger -- count me in!

It sounds like you and your mom have had some great times together. I'm sure she appreciates you being there for her while your dad was so sick and hopefully you had some pleasant visits with him. I know what you mean about the price of gas. My hubby and I would like to go away somewhere for our 25th anniversary this summer, but will probably just stay in Maine. You have some great trips in the works to look forward to. Italy was one of the places my son applied to go next year for study through his college, but was not accepted. I was hoping to visit him there! Take good care of Tipper in his golden years!

Hi Eve, it certainly has been warm, didn't get below 30C last night. To make matters worse, my air conditioning at school has been playing up, so we were without it today. I teach the new to school children and they are all pretty fragile and tired at the moment. Thank God it's Friday!!

Eve, Finally, things are getting resolved. I'm trying to help my parents but it's a full time job. Juggling a full time job, caring for my immediate family and my parents was getting me worn out. Very rarely can I do things outside the house because trying to keep my place clean and my parents' home clean is time consuming. Even going on-line has been a sporadic few minutes here and there but I'm addicted to the people here! And you're a reason why!

You were in a philosphical mood today, huh? Spring can do that to you. Although we don't have seasons like you do, I still feel that pull in spring (or late winter really) when the days start to warm up - my spirits soar and I feel light and cheerful.

Eve, yup can't do the burning at both ends, so my place is a mess! Going to try this one week of spring recess to get mom's situation straightened out and my place cleaned up or at least make it look habitable again! Thank you, for your kind words!
And to our old alma mater, YEA BRUINS!

Hi dear Eve.
I admire you. How can you have so many activities? I only want to thank you for the posted you-tube. With the links on it I came to know the most beautiful vocal group. The Celtic Woman performs some excellent songs I am really pleased with. Thank you again.

Hi Eve - just looked at your "Old Rugged Cross" YouTube - thanks, it was lovely and sad. We played this at my Dad's funeral (Johnny Cash version) - it was his favourite hymn. Some flowers for you and some for my Dad.

You caught me adding the pictures I took today. The yard is starting to come alive with color, I have so many daffodils in bloom at the moment, also have some hyacinths and a special miniature Iris.

Hi Eve! Thanks for your Easter wishes. Rob, Ebony, & I are enjoying a nice quiet day together. I had no idea your friend's prize winning photo was of an animal! I thought it was one of her float pictures. You know I am a big animal lover! I also love college basketball!! Sounds like you follow it closely, too, as you mentioned all the upsets that have taken place this year. Four of them were right here in our area on Friday! They are now calling Tampa "Upset City"!!! That's one of the things I like about "March Madness" - the unknown school teams often play glorious games & enjoy it so much!!! I usually always root (Amer. style!) for the underdogs. However, if none of them make it to the Final Four, I'll be cheering for either the Kansas Jayhawks or the North Carolina Tarheels. We have connections to both. Rob has his Masters from KU, & my parents lived in Chapel Hill, NC for many years & both worked for UNC.
