Eve: Further to your post on My Page; according to some people, and usually then only allegorically, inquiry started with the Eden apple. I think inquiry is even pursued by primates - earlier than man. I do not literally believe in the Genesis version of Ancient History at all, but this does not affect my largely Deist, but also agnostic, position. Doubtful is how we are meant to be. If God wants us to possess certain faith He would provide us with more direct evidence than he does.

Hi Eve, Of course, I needed to drop in with your tease of a video on horses -- love the dancing of dressage - so graceful and quite a beautiful Mare also. Loved the music also - it was fun. I hope you have a safe trip --- snow coming my way once again, I'm off to see Wayne Newton tonight and hope the snow waits until after the evening fun. Enjoy your day, Mary

Eve, horses use their tails for balance and fly swatting, not for emotional reasons. In the days before animal welfare groups took an interest the dancing horses either had the tender part of their feet removed so they they couldn't stand still for any length of time or were given electric shocks. There was a lot of cruelty in the horse world, jumps were electrified to make horses clear them or had barbed wire wrapped round them and so on.

Horses aren't suppose to do that !!! Wonderful to watch....but not having seen anything like this before, I was afraid the horse was going to be hurt...I kept thinking of Barbado ( the racehorse that broke its leg in the Kentucky Derby last year) and was greatly relieved when it ended successfully!

That was awesome, Eve thank you! I don't know if you saw any of the Sydney Olympic opening ceremony, but one of my sister's in law was one of the trainers for the horse display. She rode in it as well. She can get dogs to do anything for her as well! All with encouragement & a few treats when they're learning new things.

Thanks for the links Eve, I enjoyed watching the horses and the northern lights was wonderful - I would love to see it in person. I want to write a story - about going on a dog sled ride during the night - with the moon full and the stars bright - I thought we could imagine the northern lights "dancing" in the distance - against the mountain or the tree line. Thanks, Mary
The wind as been unbelievable today - and of course - it's recycing day. I got some exercise looking for my bins. Enjoy your day, Mary

Hi Eve! Yes, I think Keith would admit to learning a lot! I was astounded by dino's aura of peace, tranquility, and love. I brought back with me a sense of empowerment over my destiny. I shall truly miss her. I feel that I can now reach out to my Buddhist temple and try again to understand. But the meditation I learned will help me, I know it will!

I've always had a conflict between my Buddhist heritage and my Christian American part of my life. Dino showed me that it was ok to have both because basically the message was the same. I feel more at peace! I want to learn more from dino.

Thanks, Eve. Loved the It also had pictures of Mesa Verde Native American ruins in the video. KANSAS was my first concert, and I was at one of their early ones, January of 1975. I grew up just 90 miles from where they began.

Eve you are dear. I vaguely remember an incident that had Boone's Farm Strawberry wine involved from my high school years. I guess that is why I have not touched the stuff since.

My dear nieghbor, bless her heart, offered me a glass one weekend. I said just give me a taste, since I am not normally a drinker.

Forget that spitting out stuff, that was good. I do not know what she gave me, but as I said two bottles later it really did not matter.

I do know that I prefer the red wine to the white. I had a taste of the white the next weekend. But stopped on one glass.

Thank you for your tips and hope to chat soon.

Eve, you're exactly right about ethanol and the subsidies and the ripple effects. It goes even further than that...

Wheat is now being used to produce ethanol, and wheat is also being used as animal feed as a substitute for the corn that is now going to ethanol.

And so it goes...

Thanks Eve. I got 11, but there were some questions that I think pertained to the USA & not Australia - our skates had straps & buckles! I guess a couple & got one right - Studebaker! My mother used to paint the seam with boot polish!
Great fun.

Okay, I got 17, and I'm only 30 years old. Either I just know a lot of random stuff or I grew up in a small town with out-dated ways. Oh, wait, I think it's both! (And yes, I remember smelling the purple ink from freshly photocopied papers when I was in elementary school!)

Hi, Eve! I know you're out of town, but I had a couple of questions on two of your recipes:

(1) I included your Chocolate Fudge Pie recipe with a slight modification because I didn't understand your wording at the end of the recipe. You said: "Bake at 350° 25 to 30 minutes or until top is crust and filing is set but still soft inside do not over bake." I left out "top is crust". In any case I can revise this next month if I misinterpreted it.

(2) I did not include your pineapple pie recipe because you didn't finish it. You neglected to indicate the baking time. I'll get this in the next edition of the cookbook if you'll send me the info.

Thanks! And I hope you're having a wonderful time at your convention! Jane
