Saylz, just had to pop in to say the attorney jokes you posted on easy were hysterical! I know I have read them before, I think I got them in an email, but they still leave me shaking my head bemusedly!

Hi saylz, thanks for your reply. We read this differently. I read it that the ship has to be twice as old NOW as the boiler was previously, whereas you read it that the ship had to be twice as old as the boiler in the past. I think that a certain number of years ago, the ship had to be BOTH the same age the boiler is now, AND double the age that the boiler was in that same year. Does that make sense? I'm not saying it's right of course.

Hey, you don't need to apologise saylz. You were helping me think it through. Maybe we should team up? You're obviously very mathematical, I find English easier. About the only thing I know about algebra is how to spell the word. I hope all goes well for you in Brissie, and that it's not too hot, but then being Tasmanian, you probably find anything above 10 degrees hot. hehe

Hey Saylz, I loved Gran Torino too. I don't usually watch Clint Eastwood movies, but was interested by a few scenes I saw. Great movie...really had something to say

Thanks Saylz. I had never heard of the 1948 show before. I googled and read about it. In reference to you You Tube, they came and took me away several years ago, but I escaped!
Cheers!

You're tagged! Glinda's started that game.
Rules: Tagged!!!
Here are the rules:
(1) Each player starts with 5 random facts/habits about themselves.
(2). You have 24 hours in which to do this
(3) At the end of your Post, you need to choose 2 people to get tagged and list their names.
(4) You must then let these people know they have been tagged, either posting on their page or by private message.
Try and not “Tag” anyone that has already been tagged.
also... big one here... of the two people you pick, try to tag someone you don't know that well. You're that someone for me

Looks like you're entitled to celebrate your first Sudokuversary. So many people joined about a year ago (as I did, too).
So you got me reading up on Alexander Selkirk. Are you descended from Sophia Bruce or Frances Candes? (or someone else?) It seems that it would be easy enough to find out if your artifact was truly made of species native to the island. And if it was, and if you could prove your ancestral connection, it could be worth some money at auction. A significant auction house could find an expert to verify the probable authenticity (date and place) of the plant material.

The 2 names are of his known "wives." Number one claimed they were married, but he managed to marry number two while number one was still alive.

Hello saltz, I saw your comment about Italy the other day. I don't whether you can get The Rough Guide books over there but I bought The Rough Guides to France last year when I wanted to plan a trip to the Loire Valley. They are excellent at giving you insider knowledge about different areas. There is also a site called Trip Advisor which has reviews/details of various hotels which have been visited by travellers. I use that site a great deal and have left my own comments on different hotels when I have stayed at them. Hope that helps a little.

Hi saylz (spelt it right this time, oops, blame it on my glasses). How is your wife's holiday plans coming on? Has she decided on where to stay as yet? I hope she is looking forward to the trip.
The weather today has been good for the cricket, only one shower, best day of the week so far.

The trip sounds wonderful, do you not enjoy travelling abroad or is it something your wife wanted to do? I hope she gets her passport sorted out in time. I remember not long ago one of my brothers went to renew his passport and they needeed his birth certificate. He enquired about it only to find that there was no trace of him! The hospital he was born in had been pulled down and no trace of any birth records could be found! It is an ongoing saga still, but thankfully he didn't need to travel urgently. It has been a bit of a wash out here regarding the cricket, we are having far too much rain for this time of year.

Has your wife sorted out her passport now David? I am sure the trip will be wonderful for her and her sisters. Have they decided on where they are going now? It is years (I was 13yrs old) since I have been to Italy and then it was in Rome. I seem to recall it was busy, busy and busy. The history of all the old towns in Italy is said to be fascinating. I hope she enjoys her holiday. Cheers.
