Hi Judy,
Thanks for all of your kind comments. Yes, we noticed the abundance of prickly pair cactus when we visited New Zealand and Australia in 2002. I know what you mean about the introduction of non-native species... Hawaii is a prime example of the harm done when that happens.

I took a couple of minutes to look at your picture gallery. Especially liked the ones of W. A. Wish we could have gotten to the south of your beautiful state. Broome and Kununurra were nice, but I would have liked to seen the Perth area. I promise to look at the individual pix this week.

I see we have been to some of the same places... Germany, Switzerland, Alaska.

Thanks again,

Hal

Hi, again,
Finally got a chance to look at all of your pix. The ones of Germany brought back fond memories. We were stationed there for four years ('72-'76). And we've been to Alaska a couple of times. Really wish we could have seen more of Australia... the pix of the cave at Margaret River were awesome. Thanks again.

Hal

Hi Judy - nice to 'hear' from you. I'm afraid my interactions with Suduko are erratic but everytime I do I realise how interesting it is to interact with others around the world. When is your daughter getting married?
Hope you werent too badly affected by the fires -they looked devastating! We suffer from the same problem around Cape Town as well and I know how they can affect your life. The ones in 2000 were probably the worst and although there was minimal loss of life and belongings they trapped you in your suburb sometimes for days on end, because all the interleading roads had been closed - and the heat and smoke-filled days become unbearable.
I'm afraid my diving days were also bought to a sudden end because my diving mate was killed by an elephant while visiting Botswana. It was many years ago and he did tend to be a bit fearless of life so diving episodes with him were usually unforgettable. But I have thought about getting back into it more recently - we live in a beautiful diving area.
My eldest sister lives in Sydney so I have been across several times to visit her and have travelled up the east coast a few times - but have never been to Melbourne although I have been told it is very beautiful.
Happy belated birthday for the 3 March (?) - same day as my sister - hope your daughter doesn't do her meerkat imitation at the wedding.
Cheers
Lucy

Hi Judy, I saw your messagea few days ago but just haven't had the chance to reply until now. I'll be trying to put some more photos up - the France trip was wonderful and I'd love to share more of it. The main problem is just finding the time but I'll get around to it some time soon.

Take care, Chris.

Hello Judy, wanted to say a very belated 'thankyou' for my birthday wishes... It's so rude when people don't reply, but I'm not rude, just not prompt! I did have a very good day, thanks, and an excellent week in fact :)
Enjoy your weekend, and I'll see you round the pages...

Hey, Judy, thank you for the hugs, they do help. She almost made it to 14 years, but her liver couldn't make it. Her decline was fast, so I could make the last decision before she really suffered. I miss her so much! Somehow I now have a "rescue dog" living with me - not my idea, but I was going to foster this needy little soul but, after four days, that is out of the question, I shall see this through with him and adopt him. My heart still aches for my big yellow dog, though.

Today Jasper experienced walking through deep leaves and seeing a stream up close - he was so excited! This is what makes up for the pee pee on the floor (he's an anxious pee-er, lets go when he gets excited), the stealing of my favorite cookies from the counter, and the occasional chewing on things that are not his (I have to get used to puppy traits - at least he has a chance to be a puppy now, even though he gets scolded - gently, I don't want to have to mop up). He met his babysitter last night (she has been my trusted house/pet sitter for years when I went away - whether to Italy for two months or for a day or a weekend) and they got along splendidly. I must leave him in a month to go to Seattle (Washington State) to help my ex-sister-in-law as she's having chemo, and I worried about leaving him, but I think it will be fine. She'll be coming over to walk him and have dinner several times more before I go.

Hello Judy from over in the West! Thank you for dropping by and your thoughtful wishes and comments.

It has been the hardest thing in our lives to get going again, but we are there now, and have to keep on smiling. After all, we are alive!

Hope the pics told a little bit of our story.

Take care

Judy, you have some wonderful photos in your gallery. I don't have time to comment on them individually (Shepherds Pie about to be served) but there was one where I spotted Essendon colours in the background and left a comment.

Hi Judy, just saw your wonderful inspirational message! Remembered that earlier I had said 'no, I don't want to go to my page now, I'm not supposed to be here at all' - assumed it was a comment on the group photo! Wish I'd looked! The Tim Tams, hot chocolate etc would have made finishing the paper much more comfortable! Thank you so much for your thoughts...

Hi Judy and Rob,
We're so glad to have met you. This is Lynne writing. I've ordered lemon lime and Bitters 3 times since you told me about it. Thanks for the tip! I'm sure you've read about our trip to see the penguins and the flight over and visit to Dino's. Today, Margo and Elsie took us to visit a little German community outside Adelaide, and tomorrow - to the wine country.
Thanks again for a great day together. Lynne

Judy, thanks for visiting my quilt in progress. You know Quilters like show and tell!

Judy , those pillows on the bed are just the pillow cases, pillow slips, with my favorite sheets. I bought all they had when I found them, 2 sets and a flat sheet to make extra pillow cases! They do go with the colors in the quilt eh?

JUDY, you were not a bit late with birthday greetings, thanks to the time difference. I received your message on the morning of my birthday. We topsiders are special, we get a 2 day celebration in Sudokuland.

Thanks so much for the greeting, having friends from across Australia and the world adds so much to my day to day, and especially to my Birthday.

Judy, Sorry for the slow reply....

Re: your comment about my view... Cold is relative, however the temp rarely drops below the high teens (F.) I do get snow sometimes, though it doesn't "stick" some years. This year at one point I had nearly 3' accumulation... (the most I can remember in a long time.) Pretty, but a pain in the a$$.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hey, Judy! Hope all goes well with you and yours! Yes, Jasper can be a sweet-heart - but there is a reason why I've coined the word "jasperated"! I am taking him to training lessons, and we walk several miles a day - I use the first past of the walk to do training exercises, the second part he gets "free dog" - which means he can run the length of the 15 foot training lead and play. He does, indeed, keep me busy, and he can be a dear little chap. He has been good company for me!
